Smith said on Monday he thinks former first lady Michelle Obama would easily defeat former President Donald Trump if she decided to run against him in November.<\/p>\n<p>Smith also accused former FBI Director <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/ex-deputy-attorney-general-slams-rogue-james-comey\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">James Comey<\/a> of election interference for re-opening a probe \u2014 just a week-and-a-half <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/news\/politics\/onpolitics\/2016\/10\/28\/how-we-got-here-timeline-clinton-email-scandal\/92901022\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">before the 2016 election<\/a> \u2014 into Hillary Clinton\u2019s use of a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/cnn-analyst-hillary-emails-likely-cost-election-covered-story-differently\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/breaking-73976-ballots-released-by-maricopa-county-56-1-for-donald-trump\/\" title=\"BREAKING: 73,976 Ballots Released By Maricopa County \u2014 56.1% FOR DONALD TRUMP\">private email server<\/a><\/a> while she was serving as secretary of state during former President Barack Obama\u2019s first term.<\/p>\n<p>Smith \u2014 who makes <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/keith-olbermann-issues-ultimatum-espn-silence-fire-stephen-smith-trump-comments\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">regular appearances on ESPN<\/a> as an NBA commentator and analyst \u2014 joined former NBA star Kevin Garnett\u2019s podcast \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/podcasts.apple.com\/us\/podcast\/stephen-a-smith-unfiltered-on-going-too-far-being\/id1681173392?i=1000655433236\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">KG Certified<\/a>\u201d on Monday, where the discussion turned to national politics.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHow far are we from a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/review-the-presidents-daughter-large-print-by-bill-clinton-and-james-patterson\/\" title=\"REVIEW: \u2018The President\u2019s Daughter\u2019 (Large Print) by Bill Clinton and James Patterson\">woman president<\/a>?\u201d Garnett asked. \u201cHow far are we from women in stronger positions?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The former NBA champion noted that countries in Europe and South America had elected female leaders.<\/p>\n<p>He pressed Smith for his opinion on when Americans would put a woman in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/biden-admin-responds-report-effort-within-white-house-oust-karine-jean-pierre\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the White House<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Smith said Clinton would have been president if she had taken campaigning in the Rust Belt more seriously in 2016 and also blamed Comey for her loss to Trump.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWell here\u2019s what I would tell you, If the FBI director at the time, James Comey, hadn\u2019t come in at the last minute with some s*** about Hillary and emails,\u201d Smith said.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Stephen A. She doesn\u2019t seem to have an interest.\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/9nsypDt0nZ\">pic.twitter.com\/9nsypDt0nZ<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 The Recount (@therecount) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/therecount\/status\/1790472334593171733?\">May 14, 2024<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>He added, \u201c[If] Hillary I believe had campaigned in Wisconsin and Philadelphia in the waning days before the election, I think you would\u2019ve had a female president in 2016.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>When Garnett expressed his surprise at the take, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/stephen-smith-calls-panel-goes-off-knicks-loss-yall-think-happened\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Smith<\/a> replied, \u201cI think that she was that close.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Smith then stated he believed another former first lady would easily when, were she to run a campaign as a Democrat this fall.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd I think that Michelle Obama would win right now if she were to run,\u201d Smith said. \u201cI think that Michelle Obama would hands down be the next president of the United States if she were to run against Trump, the presumptive GOP nominee.\u201d<\/p>\n<div id=\"firefly-poll-container\">\n<p>Would Michelle Obama beat Trump in 2024?<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Obama has been a dream candidate for many <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/democrats-preparing-possible-virtual-convention-avoid-repeat-68-anti-war-protests\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Democrats<\/a> for years, but she <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/michelle-obamas-office-announces-decision-running-president\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">has publicly said<\/a> she has no intention of running.<\/p>\n<p>Smith acknowledged as much when he told Garnett, \u201cNow, that, obviously, is not gonna happen. She doesn\u2019t seem to have an interest.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Amid a mountain of questions about whether she would challenge President Joe Biden for the Democratic Party\u2019s nomination this summer, her office clarified she had no ambitions for the White House in March, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/politics\/2024-election\/michelle-obama-former-first-lady-not-running-president-2024-rcna141767\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NBC News<\/a> reported.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs former First Lady Michelle Obama has expressed several times over the years, she will not be running for president,\u201d Crystal Carson, Michelle Obama\u2019s director said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMrs. Obama supports President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris\u2019 re-election campaign,\u201d Carson concluded.<\/p>\n<hr>\n<div>\n<p><b><i>An Important Message from Our Staff:<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p><i><span>In just a few months, the world is going to change forever.
