He\u2019s among a series of Republicans who have attended the trial and spoken out about it.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe best proof that the Trump trial is a sham: if DJT had done the exact *opposite* of the alleged crime, they\u2019d still be prosecuting him &#038; have an even stronger case,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/vivek-ramaswamy-reveals-simple-strategy-debating-kamala-harris-gets-vp-nod\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ramaswamy<\/a> said in a statement, according to Fox.<\/p>\n<p>Trump is charged with falsifying business records. Prosecutors claim that when the Trump Organization reimbursed attorney Michael Cohen for money he paid porn actress Stormy Daniels for her silence about an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/ghislaine-maxwell-watched-epstein-have-sex-with-14-year-old-victim-participated-in-sex-encounters-testimony\/\" title=\"Ghislaine Maxwell Watched Epstein Have Sex With 14-Year-Old Victim, Participated In Sex Encounters: Testimony\">alleged sexual encounter<\/a> in 2006, the payments were incorrectly reported to hide what prosecutors claim was a second crime.<\/p>\n<p>Cohen, now Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg\u2019s main witness for the prosecution, took the stand on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>Republican Sen. J.D. Vance of Ohio, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/sen-j-d-vance-discovers-impeachment-time-bomb-next-trump-presidency-buried-ukraine-bill\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">another Trump supporter<\/a>, said Cohen\u2019s testimony should not be believed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis guy is a convicted felon, who admitted in his testimony that he secretly recorded his former employer,\u201d Vance said, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/abcnews.go.com\/Politics\/trump-allies-potential-vp-contenders-flock-manhattan-courthouse\/story?id=110183910\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ABC<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDoes any reasonable, sensible person really believe anything that Michael Cohen says?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Vance said he was helping Trump, who is barred by a gag order from commenting on witnesses.<\/p>\n<div id=\"firefly-poll-container\">\n<p>Would Vivek Ramaswamy be a good VP pick?<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>\u201cThe thing that the president is prevented from saying, which is a disgrace, is that every single person involved in this prosecution is practically a Democratic political operative,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Although Trump\u2019s allies are helping to spread the word, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/nyt-polls-find-trump-upended-electoral-map-leads-biden-5-battleground-states\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Trump<\/a> continued his drumbeat of criticism of the trial in a <a href=\"https:\/\/truthsocial.com\/@realDonaldTrump\/posts\/112439104824176733\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Truth Social<\/a> post.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cVirtually every Legal Analyst and Scholar said yesterday, at the end of the day, THAT THERE IS NO CASE, AND THAT THIS WITCH HUNT SHOULD HAVE NEVER BEEN BROUGHT, AND SHOULD BE THROWN OUT NOW!!! WHY WASN\u2019T THIS HOAX BROUGHT SEVEN YEARS AGO, INSTEAD OF IN THE MIDDLE OF MY WINNING CAMPAIGN FOR PRESIDENT \u2014 ELECTION INTERFERENCE,\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe problem is that this Judge, Merchan, is TOTALLY COMPROMISED, CONFLICTED, AND CORRUPT, MAKING BIG MONEY OFF OF THIS SCAM AND ITS OUTCOME. He can\u2019t render a fair decision, too much is at stake for him and the Democrats. The Appellate Division should remove him immediately!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/opinion\/ny-vs-trump-michael-cohens-lies-sink-da-braggs-case\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">commentary piece Tuesday<\/a>, Fox <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/california-deputy-said-he-was-shot-in-line-of-duty-he-shot-himself\/\" title=\"California Deputy Said He Was Shot In Line Of Duty. He Shot Himself.\">legal analyst<\/a> Greg Jarrett wrote that amid all of Cohen\u2019s salacious testimony about Trump paying Daniels to be quiet came a major blow to the prosecution.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCohen confirmed the accuracy of the bookkeeping when he explained that the money he received was compensation for his work on the legal settlement with Daniels, reimbursed payments to him, plus a retainer for his legal services as Trump\u2019s newly named personal attorney,\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhere exactly is the original fraud that forms the basis for the 34 misdemeanor charges alleged by the prosecution? Nowhere,\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEither way, it doesn\u2019t matter. Bragg\u2019s argument is legally flawed because Trump used his own money, not campaign funds. The law imposes limits on the latter, but not on the former,\u201d Jarrett wrote.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is the worst kind of government corruption. Unscrupulous, dishonest, and amoral. \u00a0It is antithetical to justice and an embarrassment to our once respected legal system. It\u2019s not a paradox.
