Trump&#8217;s \u200dinvolvement in relationships \u200dwith women is central to the Manhattan DA&#8217;s case, \u2063with Trump denying the allegations. Cohen&#8217;s credibility has been challenged.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">A onetime lawyer for former President <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/donald-trump\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Donald Trump<\/a> testified on Monday that he secretly recorded Trump before the 2016 election while he was working for him.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Michael Cohen, who <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/obama-appointed-judge-delays-sentencing-for-kevin-clinesmith-until-after-inauguration-day\/\" title=\"Obama-Appointed Judge Delays Sentencing For Kevin Clinesmith Until After Inauguration Day\">previously worked<\/a> for Trump, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/michael-cohen-testifies-he-secretly-recorded-trump-lead-up-2016-election\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">said<\/a> during his testimony at the former president\u2019s criminal trial in New York that he used his iPhone to record a conversation between himself and Trump in September of 2016. Cohen claimed that the conversation was in regards to a supposed payment to former National Enquirer publisher David Pecker over an alleged affair between Trump and model Karen McDougal. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Cohen, whose credibility has been challenged by Trump and other Republicans, claimed he recorded the conversation to show that Trump was going to pay Pecker. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cIt was so I could show it to David Pecker and that way he would hear the conversation, that he would know that we\u2019re going to be paid, Mr. Trump is going to be paying him back,\u201d Cohen <a href=\"https:\/\/justthenews.com\/government\/courts-law\/michael-cohen-called-stand-trump-hush-money-trial\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">said<\/a>. \u201cI also wanted him to remain loyal to Mr. Trump.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">When asked if Trump was aware that he was being recorded, Cohen said he was not. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">In the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/video\/listen-michael-cohen-recording-of-trump-talking-karen-mcdougal-payment-210816069576\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">recording<\/a>, Cohen says he will be setting up a company to transfer \u201call of that info regarding our friend David.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The recording came out as part of his testimony on Cohen\u2019s claims about Trump\u2019s alleged relationships with McDougal and Stormy Daniels. The supposed relationships with the women are the focal point of Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg\u2019s case against Trump. Vance (R-OH), who attended the trial on Monday, ripped into Cohen over the recording revelation. Also in attendance were Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall, Alabama Senator Tommy Tuberville, Rep. Nicole Malliotakis (R-NY), and Iowa AG Brenna Bird. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u201cMichael Cohen is the prosecution\u2019s star witness. This guy is a convicted felon who admitted in his testimony that he secretly recorded his former employer, that he only did it once, allegedly, and that this was supposed to help Donald Trump.
