Interim executive director Eric Fergen\u2063 addressed the matter to school faculty, staff, and students.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<header> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/news\/\">  News <\/a>  <\/p>\n<h2>Teacher on the Run After Serious Allegation, Facing 15 Years in Prison and $30,000 Fine<\/h2>\n<p> <span> <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/author\/johnathanjones\/\">  <\/a> <\/p>\n<p> <span>   By <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/author\/johnathanjones\/%20\"><span>Johnathan Jones<\/span><\/a> <\/span> <span>   May 13, 2024 at 1:20pm <\/span> <\/span>  <\/header>\n<section>\n<p>A former substitute school teacher who allegedly had a sexual encounter with a student in a Minnesota classroom earlier this year is the subject of a nationwide search, the Minneapolis <a href=\"https:\/\/www.startribune.com\/ex-teacher-at-st-paul-school-charged-for-classroom-encounter\/600365011\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Star Tribune<\/a> reported Friday.<\/p>\n<p>Caitlin Thao admitted to a social worker at a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/girl-convicted-in-slender-man-stabbing-case-makes-request-for-early-release\/\" title=\"Girl convicted in Slender Man stabbing case makes request for early release\">mental health facility<\/a> that she had a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/teacher-featured-good-morning-america-faces-life-prison-pleading-guilty-heinous-crime\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">sexual encounter<\/a> with a 17-year-old boy, according to court documents.<\/p>\n<p>The 24-year-old Thao went on the run after she was charged with criminal sexual conduct last week, the report said.<\/p>\n<p>She resigned from her job as a substitute teacher at a St. Paul charter school in February.<\/p>\n<p>Citing a criminal complaint against Thao, the Star Tribune reported the victim told police on March 13 that the two had a sexual encounter about six weeks previously in an empty middle school <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/student-hit-3-charges-deplorable-classroom-attack-teacher-caught-camera\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">classroom<\/a> she was using at the St. Paul City School.<\/p>\n<p>The boy said that after the encounter, Thao invited him to come to her home.<\/p>\n<p>He told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/radical-left-wing-mob-overwhelms-local-police-storm-tesla-factory-grounds\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">officers<\/a> he declined the offer. No other communication between the teen and the former teacher was reported.<\/p>\n<p>According to those same court documents, Thao found herself as a patient at Regions Hospital in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/minnesota-national-guard-authorized-as-outrage-swirls-after-new-officer-involved-shooting-floyd-trials\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">St. Paul<\/a>, where she told a social worker about the incident.<\/p>\n<p>Last week, she was charged with third<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/convicted-sexual-assailant-fatally-shot-after-attacking-deputies-with-hatchet\/\" title=\"Convicted Sexual Assailant Fatally Shot After Attacking Deputies with Hatchet\">-degree criminal sexual conduct<\/a> in the Ramsey County District Court, the Star Tribune reported.<\/p>\n<p>Facing up to 15 years in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/filmmaker-flees-europe-latest-movie-comes-8-year-prison-sentence\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">prison<\/a> and a $30,000 fine, according to the U.K.\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/article-13407097\/StpPaul-Minnesota-substitute-teacher-charged-sex-boy-classroom.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Daily Mail<\/a>, Thao fled and has not been seen since.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Female substitute teacher goes on the run after she was accused of having sex with boy, 17, in an empty classroom <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/TzAqa7Tye7\">https:\/\/t.co\/TzAqa7Tye7<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/yWzA7UYwrE\">pic.twitter.com\/yWzA7UYwrE<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Daily Mail Online (@MailOnline) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/MailOnline\/status\/1789316852822216821?\">May 11, 2024<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>She is now the subject of a nationwide <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/4-officers-killed-serving-warrant-others-injured-hearts-ache\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">warrant<\/a>, and attempts to find her were unsuccessful as of Monday.<\/p>\n<p>Eric Fergen, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/school-board-group-asks-white-house-for-federal-help-with-threats\/\" title=\"School board group asks White House for federal help with threats\">interim executive director<\/a> of St. Paul City School, sent a letter to faculty, staff and student families on Friday to inform them of the allegations against the former teacher, the Star Tribune reported.<\/p>\n<p>Fergen wrote that the encounter between the substitute teacher and the student occurred outside of school hours.<\/p>\n<p>Asked to comment on the case Friday, he told the Star Tribune that Thao \u201chasn\u2019t worked with us for quite a few months.\u201d<\/p>\n<hr>\n<div>\n<p><b><i>A Note from Our Deputy Managing Editor:<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p><i><span>I heard a chilling comment the other day: \u201cWe don\u2019t even know if an election will be held in 2024.\u201d <\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><i><span>That wasn\u2019t said by a conspiracy theorist or a doomsday prophet.
