Current polls reveal Trump surpassing Biden in 5 key swing states, disrupting the typical electoral scenario.\u2062 This surprising development hints at dissatisfaction among younger and non-white voters, possibly \u2062heralding a\u200b shift in the \u2062political terrain.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<header> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/commentary\/\">  Commentary <\/a>   <span> <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/author\/jsaunders\/\">  <\/a> <\/p>\n<p> <span>   By <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/author\/jsaunders\/%20\"><span>Joe Saunders<\/span><\/a> <\/span> <span>   May 13, 2024 at 9:26am <\/span> <\/span>  <\/header>\n<section>\n<p>This has to be galling to the Gray Lady.<\/p>\n<p>The New York Times, one-time newspaper turned better known now as a vehicle for Democratic propaganda, devoted a front-page report Monday to the state of polls for the presidential election.<\/p>\n<p>And it must have been painful to publish.<\/p>\n<p>In five of six battleground states, former President Donald Trump is leading President Joe Biden among both registered and likely voters, according to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2024\/05\/13\/us\/politics\/biden-trump-battleground-poll.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Times<\/a>, though Biden did slightly better among the latter.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Latest New York Times swing state polls:<\/p>\n<p>AZ: Trump 49%, Biden 42%<\/p>\n<p>GA: Trump 49%, Biden 39%<\/p>\n<p>MI: Trump 49%, Biden 42%<\/p>\n<p>NV: Trump 50%, Biden 38%<\/p>\n<p>PA: Trump 47%, Biden 44%<\/p>\n<p>The American people know that Biden is a FAILURE!<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Alex Bruesewitz \ud83c\uddfa\ud83c\uddf8 (@alexbruesewitz) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/alexbruesewitz\/status\/1789998802444644631?\">May 13, 2024<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Among registered voters, according to the Times, Trump led in Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada and Pennsylvania, while Biden led in Wisconsin.<\/p>\n<p>The leads ranged from 3 points in Pennsylvania where Trump had 47 percent to Biden\u2019s 44 percent (within the margin of error), to an astounding 12 points in Nevada (<em>not<\/em> within the margin of error), where Trump had 50 percent support to Biden\u2019s 38 percent, according to the Times.<\/p>\n<p>Among likely voters \u2014 generally considered a better barometer of election results, for obvious reasons \u2014 the results were similar in all states but Michigan and Wisconsin.<\/p>\n<div id=\"firefly-poll-container\">\n<p>Do you think Trump will win in November?<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Trump led in Arizona, Georgia, Nevada, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin, while Biden led in Michigan.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Times, the polls were taken April 28 to May 9 with Siena College and the Philadelphia Inquirer (another one-time newspaper-turned-Democratic Party organ). They questioned 4,097 respondents by telephone.<\/p>\n<p>The margins of error ranged from 3.6 points in Pennsylvania to 4.6 points in Georgia. (Trump\u2019s lead in George was 49 percent to 39 percent, according to the Times.)<\/p>\n<p>What\u2019s noteworthy about the polls that they come not only at a time when Trump is facing an onslaught of legal warfare \u2014 including his current criminal show trial in Manhattan \u2014 but they also show Trump with support in what should be unlikely sources: the kind of young and non-white voters Democrats can normally count on.<\/p>\n<p>As the Times headline put it: \u201cTrump Leads in 5 Key States, as Young and Nonwhite Voters Express Discontent With Biden.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As the Times reports: \u201cThe polls suggest that Mr. Trump\u2019s strength among young and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/fraudulent-election-trump-won-more-blacks-latinos-gays-and-a-sizeable-shift-to-trump-by-immigrant-populations-in-2020-election-but-beijing-biden-won\/\" title=\"FRAUDULENT ELECTION: Trump Won More Blacks, Latinos, Gays and a \u201cSizeable\u201d Shift to Trump by Immigrant Populations in 2020 Election \u2014 But Beijing Biden Won?\">nonwhite voters<\/a> has at least temporarily upended the electoral map, with Mr. Trump surging to a significant lead in Arizona, Georgia and Nevada \u2014 relatively diverse Sun Belt states where Black and Hispanic voters propelled Mr. Biden to signature victories in the 2020 election.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Note the grudging \u201cat least temporarily.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In a journalistic sense, it\u2019s legitimate to note that the state of the polls now might not be the state of public opinion in November, of course. But that\u2019s almost certainly not why the Times includes that caveat.<\/p>\n<p>The reality is, Democrats and their mouthpieces like the Times simply have trouble conceiving of a world where Americans who <em>should<\/em> be supporting leftists are <em>not <\/em>supporting leftists.<\/p>\n<p>Besides standard journalistic posterior coverage, that \u201cat least temporarily\u201d sounds a lot like the Times trying to comfort its liberal voters that the support for Trump its\u2019 documenting is simply a mirage, a bad dream that will go away in the morning.<\/p>\n<p>The problem with that is in the Times article itself:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe findings are mostly unchanged since the last series of Times\/Siena polls in battleground states in November,\u201d the report notes. \u201cSince then, the stock market has gained 25 percent, Mr. Trump\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/u-s-whistleblower-edward-snowdens-wife-shares-photos-of-their-new-son\/\" title=\"U.S. whistleblower Edward Snowden\u2019s wife shares photos of their new son\">criminal trial<\/a> in Manhattan has started, and the Biden campaign has unleashed tens of millions of dollars in advertisements across the battleground states.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe polls offer little indication that any of these developments have helped Mr. Biden, hurt Mr. Trump or quelled the electorate\u2019s discontent.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s probably because the electorate has some damned good reasons to be discontented.<\/p>\n<p>The whole country \u2014 regardless of political affiliation \u2014 has seen the president take a situation at the southern border that was stable when Trump was in office and turned it into an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/invasion-invitation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">invasion by invitation<\/a>, where hordes of unidentified, unvetted migrants are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/official-50-texas-counties-declare-border-invasion-due-bidens-policies\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">swarming into the country<\/a> \u2014 and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/illegal-immigrant-accused-killing-laken-riley-gets-indicted-slapped-new-accusation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">victimizing innocent Americans<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The country and the world have watched Biden\u2019s cowardice and incompetence play out on a global stage \u2014 from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/bidens-afghanistan-withdrawal-left-staggering-amount-weaponry-behind-taliban-seize-official-report\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan<\/a> in 2021 to his threat last week to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/biden-warns-israel-says-stop-sending-weapons-continue-rafah-invasion\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">withhold arms from Israel<\/a>, the United States\u2019 strongest ally in the Middle East, while it fights a war for its own survival.<\/p>\n<p>And every voter, again regardless of party affiliation, has watched as inflation \u2014 all but non-existent for decades \u2014 has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/fact-check-biden-claimed-inflation-9-entered-office-truth-paints-much-different-story\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">become a major problem<\/a>, eating away earnings and eroding the value of savings.<\/p>\n<p>And those are just the top-of-mind issues at the moment. There\u2019s the corruption that\u2019s stayed off the radar, Hunter Biden, the contempt for the rule of law involved in Biden\u2019s obsession with student loan bailouts, all the rank disregard for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/vile-biden-comes-fire-invoking-jesus-promoting-abortion\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">basic decency<\/a> that has characterized Biden\u2019s behavior since he took the oath of office.<\/p>\n<p>Biden, in short, has been a disaster of a president. Everyone reading this knows it. Everyone <em>not<\/em> reading this knows it.<\/p>\n<p>Against that record, there\u2019s barely a need to contrast the four years of the Trump presidency.<\/p>\n<p>Hindered at every turn by Democrats and their establishment media allies \u2014 very much including The New York Times \u2014 Trump still managed to pass tax cuts that spurred the economy, put American foreign policy on a new global footing that confronted enemies like Iran and rivals, like China.<\/p>\n<p>His support for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/ivanka-trump-celebrates-fulfilled-promise-second-anniversary-jerusalem-embassy-opening\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">nation of Israel<\/a> was unquestionable as was his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/ap-trump-announces-massive-breakthrough-peace-israel-reaches-deal-another-arab-nation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">contribution to peace<\/a> in the Middle East via the Abraham Accords.<\/p>\n<p>(It took a Biden administration for that to turn into a new war.)<\/p>\n<p>Even allies in NATO were faced with a president who demanded they live up to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/outgoing-european-leader-leaves-colleagues-final-piece-advice-stop-whining-trump\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">their own defense obligations<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>None of this is hard to understand or acknowledge for an American of moderate intelligence and intellectual honesty. (Leftists might not be short on intelligence, but their intellectual honesty is disgracefully limited.)<\/p>\n<p>Now, the Times was correct in pointing out that things can change \u2014 even if its motivation was slightly less than honest. And no one sane would think that\u00a0 Trump is guaranteed a victory in November because he\u2019s winning poll results in May.<\/p>\n<p>But what the results do show, indisputably, is that the establishment media\u2019s attacks, the Democratic Party\u2019s lawfare, and the tens of millions of dollars the Biden re-election campaign is spending aren\u2019t having the effect liberals have hoped for.<\/p>\n<p>And it has to be galling for the Times to admit it.<\/p>\n<hr>\n<div>\n<p><b><i>An Important Message from Our Staff:<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p><i><span>In just a few months, the world is going to change forever.
