The tragic event unfolded due to a tumultuous relationship involving \u200cjealousy and romantic conflict, resulting in a heartbreaking outcome.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<p>Family members of murdered professional cyclist Anna Moriah \u201cMo\u201d Wilson have sued the woman convicted of killing her for wrongful death.<\/p>\n<p>Wilson\u2019s parents, Karen and Eric, are seeking \u201cmonetary relief (of) over $1,000,000.00, including damages of any kind, penalties, costs, expenses, pre-judgment and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/trump-begins-appeal-of-454-million-civil-business-fraud-ruling\/\" title=\"Trump appeals 4M civil business fraud ruling\">post-judgment interest<\/a>,\u201d according to the lawsuit <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/mo-wilson-kaitlin-armstrong-murder-wrongful-death-lawsuit-conviction\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">obtained<\/a> by CBS News.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe worst day in the lives of Plaintiffs Karen and Eric Wilson and their son Matt Wilson was May 12, 2022,\u201d the lawsuit says. \u201cThat is the day they learned that Defendant Kaitlin Marie Armstrong shot and killed their only daughter, Anna Moriah Wilson, affectionally known as \u2018Mo.&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Kaitlin Marie Armstrong, 35, was found guilty in November 2023 of fatally shooting Wilson. The jury took less than two hours to come to their verdict, People Magazine <a href=\"https:\/\/people.com\/kaitlin-armstrong-found-guilty-murder-professional-cyclist-8402691\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reported<\/a>. She was sentenced to 90 years in prison.<\/p>\n<p>Armstrong killed Wilson because the professional cyclist had briefly dated Armstrong\u2019s on-again-off-again boyfriend while the two were on a break. Armstrong\u2019s ex-boyfriend, professional cyclist Colin Strickland, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/ex-boyfriend-testifies-against-woman-accused-of-killing-elite-cyclist-romantic-rival\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">testified at the trial<\/a> about Armstrong\u2019s jealousy and their \u201ctumultuous\u201d relationship.<\/p>\n<p>Strickland said that he had once loved Armstrong but wasn\u2019t sure about a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/she-claimed-he-raped-her-he-said-he-didnt-without-any-additional-evidence-the-school-chose-to-believe-her\/\" title=\"She Claimed He Raped Her. The couple lived together even though they took breaks in their relationship, ABC News <a href=\"https:\/\/abcnews.go.com\/US\/kaitlin-armstrong-former-boyfriend-testifies\/story?id=104623002\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reported<\/a>. During these breaks, Strickland said, Armstrong would confront him if she found out he was talking to other women.<\/p>\n<p>In October 2021, Strickland met Wilson at a cycling race in Bentonville, Arkansas. He testified that he and Armstrong broke up shortly after the race.<\/p>\n<p>Strickland began dating Wilson when she was in Austin for a race. He then learned that Armstrong had confronted the other woman about the relationship, which Strickland said was \u201cstrange and unnerving\u201d since he didn\u2019t remember telling Armstrong about Wilson. When Wilson left Austin for another race, she and Strickland stopped dating but remained friends.<\/p>\n<p>Strickland and Armstrong got back together by December 2021. During this time, he would text with Wilson on a \u201cprofessional\u201d basis \u2013 discussing gear, races, and sponsorship opportunities, he said. But to \u201cavoid conflict\u201d with Armstrong, Strickland testified that he deleted his messages with Wilson and changed her name in his phone to \u201cChristine Wall.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><b><a href=\"https:\/\/onelink.to\/dwapp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" aria-describedby=\"sk-tooltip-9096\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/onelink.to\/dwapp&#038;source=gmail&#038;ust=1712242396228000&#038;usg=AOvVaw3WzjrNXCr1KblP2z8dS_jB\">CLICK HERE TO GET THE DAILYWIRE+ APP<\/a><\/b><\/p>\n<p>On May 11, 2022, Strickland met with Wilson, who was in Austin again for a race. The two went swimming, ate burgers, and drank beer before he dropped her off at a friend\u2019s house. He didn\u2019t tell Armstrong about his day with Wilson but knew Armstrong had access to his Apple account and was able to view his messages with her.<\/p>\n<p>The next day, police arrived at Strickland\u2019s home to tell him Wilson had been murdered. He was brought in for questioning, but police soon turned their attention to Armstrong.<\/p>\n<p>Police quickly honed in on Armstrong and brought her in for questioning. Days later, on May 14, Armstrong flew from Austin, where Wilson was killed, to Houston, and then from Houston to LaGuardia Airport in New York. From there, she traveled to Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey and then flew to San Jose, Costa Rica. A homicide warrant for Armstrong\u2019s arrest was issued on May 18, the day she flew to Costa Rica.
