Bob Menendez is scheduled to begin on Monday, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/2024\/05\/12\/gold-bars-bob-menendez-trial-00157434\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Politico<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Prosecutors are alleging that the chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee accepted 13 gold bars in return for official actions.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/democratic-sen-bob-menendez-makes-decision-re-election-amid-gold-bar-scandal-report\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Menendez<\/a> is accused of accepting lucrative bribes from agents of the governments of Egypt and Qatar in the case, as well as three New Jersey businessmen, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/nation\/2024\/05\/12\/senator-bob-menendez-bribery-trial\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Washington Post<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Menendez had all charges in his previous indictment dismissed in January 2018.<\/p>\n<p>New indictment says this \u201ccorrupt relationship\u201d began around 2018. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/DWAWjVtad4\">pic.twitter.com\/DWAWjVtad4<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Aaron Blake (@AaronBlake) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/AaronBlake\/status\/1705215421043954131?\">September 22, 2023<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The gold was uncovered during a raid of the Menendez <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/dem-sen-bob-menendez-showed-off-money-filled-safe-nude-lover-15-years-fbi-gold-bars-raid-according-dossier\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">residence<\/a> in the summer of 2022 by federal law enforcement.<\/p>\n<p>The charges in the case point to a number of Google searches traced to Menendez appraising the luxury items.<\/p>\n<p>Once, after returning from a trip to Qatar and Egypt, according to the <a href=\"https:\/\/d3i6fh83elv35t.cloudfront.net\/static\/2023\/09\/u.s._v._menendez_et_al_indictment.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">indictment against him<\/a>, Menendez did a Google search for \u201chow much is one kilo of gold worth?\u201d<\/p>\n<div id=\"firefly-poll-container\">\n<p>Do you believe other senators have taken bribes?<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>On another occasion, according to the indictment, Menendez allegedly searched \u201ckilo of gold price,\u201d one day after <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/democrats-descend-into-twitter-war-with-amazon\/\" title=\"Democrats Descend into Twitter War With Amazon\">lobbying federal officials<\/a> to go easy on New Jersey businessman Fred Daibes.<\/p>\n<p>Daibes, as well as businessmen Wael Hana and and Jose Uribe, are also facing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.justice.gov\/usao-sdny\/pr\/us-senator-robert-menendez-his-wife-and-three-new-jersey-businessmen-charged-bribery\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">federal charges<\/a> for their role in an alleged bribery scheme that saw themselves enriched with Menendez\u2019s assistance.<\/p>\n<p>Menendez allegedly used his key foreign policy position to connect the three other defendants with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/report-hunter-biden-still-owns-stake-in-chinese-equity-firm\/\" title=\"Report: Hunter Biden still owns stake in Chinese equity firm\">foreign business deals<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>This isn\u2019t the first time Menendez has faced allegations of corruption in a courtroom.<\/p>\n<p>The influential Democrat beat a federal corruption case in 2018, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/story\/2018\/01\/31\/dismissal-of-menendez-case-380230\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Politico<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Deadlocked jurors were unable to reach a conclusion in that matter, resulting in a mistrial.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/fetterman-pays-santos-343-troll-ethically-challenged-democratic-colleague\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Menendez<\/a> maintains his innocence, even going so far as to assert that he is being vindictively targeted by President Joe Biden\u2019s Department of Justice on account of his ethnicity.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Indicted Sen.
