Douglas Golden<\/span><\/a> <\/span> <span>   May 11, 2024 at 6:09am <\/span> <\/span>  <\/header>\n<section>\n<p>When even one of CNN\u2019s most reliably CNN-ish on-air apparatchiks is admitting that President Joe Biden \u201crisked p***ing off\u201d voters with his tone on the economy during a softball interview with CNN, you know it\u2019s really bad.<\/p>\n<p>And it was \u2014 so bad, in fact, that during the short one-on-one with CNN\u2019s Erin Burnett which aired Wednesday, Biden told almost a lie a minute by the count of the <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2024\/05\/09\/opinion\/biden-tells-a-lie-a-minute-during-cnn-interview\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">New York Post<\/a>. (They counted 15 in an interview that lasted just under 17 minutes.)<\/p>\n<p>He lied about the jobs he\u2019s \u201ccreated.\u201d He misled voters on cutting the deficit. He lied about how much billionaires are being taxed. He lied about former President Donald Trump\u2019s position <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/paul-krugman-dead-wrong-trump-medicare-plan-gets-called-twitter\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">on Medicare<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>But, most importantly, he lied about having \u201calready turned [the economy] around\u201d and that \u201cthe polling data has been wrong.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">CNN: \u201cVoters, by a wide margin, trust Trump more on the economy \u2026 are you worried that you\u2019re running out of time to turn [the economy] around?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>BIDEN: \u201cWe\u2019ve already turned it around! \u2026 The polling data has been wrong!\u201d \ud83e\udd14 <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/kM6aBqgAyf\">pic.twitter.com\/kM6aBqgAyf<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 RNC Research (@RNCResearch) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RNCResearch\/status\/1788302041804054825?\">May 8, 2024<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Even CNN\u2019s John King \u2014 not some covert Republican or former Trump administration official brought on to give the false appearance of balance but one of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/cnn-legal-analyst-stunned-stormy-daniels-disastrous-courtroom-admission-big-deal\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CNN\u2019s<\/a> most CNN-iest CNNers, and currently the network\u2019s chief national correspondent \u2014 ripped into Biden even before the interview aired when the clip about having \u201calready turned it around\u201d was shown as a teaser by the network.<\/p>\n<p>When anchor Jake Tapper asked King about his \u201creaction to President Biden\u2019s economic pitch there,\u201d King claimed that Biden was \u201cright on the numbers about the economic turnaround, but he is on very dangerous ground.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI would say he risks offending, forgive my language, I would say he risked p***ing off some of the voters I\u2019ve talked to in my travels over the last six or seven months because they don\u2019t feel it,\u201d King said.<\/p>\n<div id=\"firefly-poll-container\">\n<p>Would you ever watch CNN again?<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>\u201cAnd so when he said at the top of that, \u2018we have turned it around,\u2019 and he said in the middle of that, \u2018the polls are wrong,\u2019 \u2014<br \/> trust me from my travels, we have a vote, a group in Milwaukee just north of where the president was today. And when we visited, then there used to be a lot of factories in their neighborhood. Those factories are gone,\u201d King said.<\/p>\n<p>Those voters in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/another-top-poll-shows-trump-pulling-ahead-biden-time-whopping-10-points\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">swing state of Wisconsin<\/a>, King said, \u201ctalk a lot about the cost of living and the cost of groceries.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJust last week, I was in Michigan talking to auto workers, auto workers who are prepared to vote for President Biden,\u201d King continued.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey believe he\u2019s the most <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/labor-board-dismisses-union-misconduct-complaints-following-biden-purge\/\" title=\"Labor Board Dismisses Union Misconduct Complaints Following Biden Purge\">pro-union president<\/a>. But even they seem beleaguered when they talk about the cost of groceries and how hard it is, and they can\u2019t move out of their house because they want to upgrade, but they can\u2019t afford a newer house, a bigger house right now because of mortgage rates.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo the statistics back up the president\u2019s argument that economy is much better and is growing and is strong, the strongest in the world. He is correct. However, voters don\u2019t feel that way, and voters don\u2019t like being told they\u2019re wrong.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Well, at least King ran damage control for an administration that continues to labor under the misapprehension that everything\u2019s going peachy keen, to use the vernacular of President Biden\u2019s time. He\u2019s very right about the fact, however, that people aren\u2019t feeling this \u2014 because it simply isn\u2019t happening.<\/p>\n<p>There are underwhelming <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/markets\/us\/view-q1-us-gdp-shows-surprise-slowing-uncomfortable-inflation-2024-04-25\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">GDP numbers<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/biden-claims-303k-new-jobs-march-shocking-real-numbers-embarrass-admin\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">jobs reports<\/a>. Biden tries to cover himself by claiming he \u201ccreated\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/fact-check-biden-claims-better-job-producer-trump-real-numbers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">15 million jobs<\/a> \u2014 which is basically his attempt to take credit for the jobs \u201ccreated\u201d by various locales lifting COVID-era lockdown restrictions. This is a bit like saying you\u2019ve improved someone\u2019s respiratory health by ceasing to continue strangling them \u2014 and doubly so when you consider which party was responsible for the worst of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/states-lowest-unemployment-rates-republican-governors-covid-restrictions\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">COVID-era economic damage<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In fact, the employment rate under Trump was higher before it was tanked by COVID and the raw numbers of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/mike-rowe-on-the-15-minimum-wage-unskilled-jobs-are-rungs-on-a-ladder\/\" title=\"Mike Rowe On The  Minimum Wage: Unskilled Jobs Are \u2018Rungs On A Ladder\u2019\">full-time jobs<\/a> in America are nearly identical \u2014 which is a loss for Biden considering that number should always be going up with an even marginally healthy economy, what with population increases and such.<\/p>\n<p>Then there\u2019s inflation, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/fact-check-biden-claimed-inflation-9-entered-office-truth-paints-much-different-story\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">which Biden claimed<\/a> was \u201c9 percent when I came into office.\u201d The highest it ever was under the Trump administration was 2.9 percent \u2014 although thanks to President Biden\u2019s policies, it soon reached those \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/home-depot-founder-hammers-biden-inflation-worse-jimmy-carter\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Welcome Back Carter<\/a>\u201d levels by 2022.<\/p>\n<p>Those price increases are now baked into what Americans are paying for pretty much everything, and even still the year-over<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/after-another-record-inflation-report-the-fed-will-not-taper-monetary-policy\/\" title=\"After Another Record Inflation Report, The Fed Will Not Taper Monetary Policy\">-year inflation rate<\/a> is above the Federal Reserve\u2019s target rate. Furthermore, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/not-joke-npr-station-says-bidens-drama-free-white-house-christmas-gift-america\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">wage increases<\/a> have only recently caught up to the inflation rate, meaning that purchasing power is still well below what it was when the 46th president took office.<\/p>\n<p>So, yes, like King, I would say that Biden \u201crisked p***ing off some of the voters\u201d that\u2019ll be casting ballots in this November\u2019s election.
