However, Robert F. Kennedy Jr.&#8217;s campaign is confident he can\u200d qualify for the debates this year. The campaign spokeswoman stated that RFK Jr. intends \u2063to join the debates and meets all participation criteria, \u2064including being on enough state ballots to have a chance at winning the Electoral College vote.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>A third-party candidate hasn\u2019t participated in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/presidential-debate\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>presidential debate<\/a> since <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/ross-perot\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Ross Perot<\/a> in 1992, but <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/rfk-jr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Robert F. Kennedy Jr.<\/a>\u2019s campaign is convinced he can qualify.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement to the <em>New York Post, <\/em>an RFK Jr. spokeswoman said he \u201cplans to take part in the presidential debates\u201d later this year and \u201cmeets every threshold to warrant his participation.<\/p>\n<p>RFK Jr. appears to be on track to fulfill one of the two requirements for the debates, the requirement for a candidate to be on enough state ballots to have \u201ca mathematical chance of winning a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/sen-graham-warns-biden-against-changing-rules-to-pass-covid-stimulus\/\" title=\"Sen. Graham warns Biden against changing rules to pass COVID stimulus\">majority vote<\/a> in the Electoral College.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2024\/05\/08\/politics\/rfk-jr-ballot-access\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>on<\/a> or on track to be on the ballot in 13 states so far as his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/global-campaign-aims-to-break-silence-around-covid-vaccine-injuries\/\" title=\"Global Campaign Aims to Break Silence Around COVID Vaccine Injuries\">campaign aims<\/a> to be on all 50 states\u2019 ballots. RFK Jr. still has some time, the debates aren\u2019t until mid-September, but it still looks to be an ambitious goal.<\/p>\n<p>RFK Jr. recently said during a rally that the campaign will be on the ballot in every state by the end of July.<\/p>\n<p>The other requirement for Kennedy to participate is for the candidate to poll at 15% nationally. A CNN survey and a Quinnipiac poll both had RFK Jr. meeting that threshold. However, RFK Jr.\u2019s running <a href=\"https:\/\/projects.fivethirtyeight.com\/polls\/president-general\/2024\/national\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>poll average<\/a> is 10% as of May 11, and has floated between about 9% and 10% since March. <\/p>\n<p>RFK Jr. has offered to debate former President Donald Trump at the Libertarian National Convention, at which both candidates are speaking, though Trump has not responded yet. <\/p>\n<p>He\u2019s been the subject of escalating attacks from both parties as they seek to minimize the effect he has on voters in November. <\/p>\n<p>Besides his penchant for touting various conspiracy theories, RFK Jr. made news this week when it was revealed he faced memory problems in the past likely caused by a brain-worm.<\/p>\n<p>He joked about that fact in a short comedy set at the Kia Forum in California on Friday night.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy brain worm wrote some jokes for me,\u201d RFK Jr. said, after making a \u201cspoiler\u201d joke in clear reference to his potential role in the 2024 election.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title><strong>CLICK HERE TO READ MORE FROM THE WASHINGTON EXAMINER<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe\u2019s very funny, got a lot of information, this is where I get most of my facts,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cA lot of his stuff is conspiracy theories, you have to filter that out.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Since Ross Perot in 1992, no third-party candidate has been in a presidential debate.
