However, when such initiatives compromise the ability of the bureau to protect America\u2019s highest-profile assassination targets, the switch is apt \u2014 and no laughing matter.<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s what prompted at least 39 Secret Service members to sign onto a petition calling for an investigation into \u201ca number of recent Secret Service incidents indicative of inadequate training,\u201d a Bloomberg senior White House correspondent reported Thursday, a little over two weeks after a female agent assigned to protect <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/kamala-harris-tries-play-victim-regarding-infamous-laugh-completely-misses-important-point\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Vice President Kamala Harris<\/a> reportedly had a breakdown and a physical altercation with her commanding agent at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland.<\/p>\n<p>Jennifer Jacobs of Bloomberg said that the \u201c[a]im is to call for a congressional investigation, petition says,\u201d listing vulnerabilities \u201cto potential insider threats\u201d and what Jacobs described as \u201ca double standard in disciplinary actions.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">News: There\u2019s a petition circulating inside the US Secret Service that flags concerns about \u201ca number of recent Secret Service incidents indicative of inadequate training,\u201d a double standard in disciplinary actions, and a vulnerability \u201cto potential insider threats\u201d that could\u2026<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Jennifer Jacobs (@JenniferJJacobs) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/JenniferJJacobs\/status\/1788614759195038115?\">May 9, 2024<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The existence of the petition was confirmed by Susan Crabtree of RealClearPolitics, who was the first to break the story \u2014 and suggest that the hiring of the alleged agent involved, identified as Michelle Herczeg, may have been part of a DEI initiative within the Secret Service to push for a force that\u2019s 30 percent female by 2030.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">I can confirm that there is a petition circulating in the Secret Service community calling for an <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/GOPoversight?\">@GOPoversight<\/a> committee investigation and the removal of Kimberly Cheatle as Secret Service director. Now anonymous whistleblowers are calling for the same sort of Congressional investigation at the Secret Service. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/IkXVfajySS\">https:\/\/t.co\/IkXVfajySS<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Susan Crabtree (@susancrabtree) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/susancrabtree\/status\/1788657523354210647?\">May 9, 2024<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/fight-breaks-harris-secret-service-detail-agent-handcuffed-removed-scene\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">alleged incident<\/a> involving Herczeg took place on April 24 as Vice President Harris was scheduled to leave from Joint Base Andrews, where Air Force One and Air Force Two are based.<\/p>\n<p>At roughly 9 a.m., Crabtree <a href=\"https:\/\/www.realclearpolitics.com\/articles\/2024\/04\/25\/secret_service_scuffle_prompts_dei_vetting_scrutiny__150846.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reported<\/a> on April 25, \u201cHerczeg showed up at the terminal and began acting erratically, grabbing another senior agent\u2019s personal phone and deleting applications on it, according to two sources familiar with the matter. The other agent, a shift leader, was able to recover his phone and then acted as if nothing had happened.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The behavior continued in that vein, however, with the agent reportedly mumbling to herself and throwing menstrual pads and other items at another agent. She also allegedly told other <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/bomb-squad-secret-service-respond-home-prominent-biden-administration-official\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Secret Service<\/a> agents they were \u201cgoing to burn in hell and needed to listen to God,\u201d one source said.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wow-pa-election-observer-drops-bombshell-says-special-agents-from-ags-office-showed-up-at-her-door-to-question-her-after-she-testified-video\/\" title=\"WOW! PA Election Observer Drops BOMBSHELL - Says Special Agents from AG's Office Showed Up at Her Door to Question Her After She Testified (VIDEO)\">special agent<\/a> in charge wasn\u2019t spared from Herczeg\u2019s wrath, either, with the agent allegedly yelling at him and listing the names of the other female officers on Harris\u2019 detail, saying that they would side with her and keep her on the job. When she was relieved from duty due to obvious signs of a mental episode, a source said \u201cshe snapped entirely,\u201d attacking her superior officer \u2014 first with a shove and a chest-bump, then by tackling and punching him.<\/p>\n<p>The agents who restrained Herczeg said she still had a gun in her holster when they restrained her. They were able to cuff her, remove her gun and remove her from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/ap-intruder-breaches-base-holds-air-force-one-shot-fired\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Joint Base Andrews<\/a> terminal.<\/p>\n<p>Secret Service spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said that the incident was a \u201cmedical matter\u201d and that \u201c[t]he U.S. Secret Service takes the safety and health of our employees very seriously.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA U.S. Secret Service special agent supporting the Vice President\u2019s departure from Joint Base Andrews began displaying behavior their colleagues found distressing,\u201d he said, adding she was immediately \u201cremoved from their assignment\u201d after the behavior manifested itself.<\/p>\n<p>Harris, it\u2019s worth noting, was still at the U.S. Naval Observatory, the official residence of the vice president, and therefore wasn\u2019t in any danger. However, many wondered whether the incident could have been precluded were it not for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/adl-pushes-govt-investigate-regulate-extremism-gaming-gamers-push-back-dei\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">DEI push<\/a> for a 30 percent female workforce.<\/p>\n<p>Former Washington Post investigative reporter Ronald Kessler, who has authored several books on the Secret Service, told Crabtree that some of Herczeg\u2019s background would have ordinarily been disqualifying for a Secret Service agent.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn 2016, Herczeg, then an officer with the Dallas police force, filed a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/elon-musk-mocks-bezos-owned-wapo-op-ed-calling-for-rich-people-to-be-prevented-from-controlling-media-platforms\/\" title=\"Elon Musk Mocks Bezos-Owned WaPo Op-Ed Calling for Rich People to Be Prevented From Controlling Media Platforms\">gender discrimination lawsuit<\/a> against the city, claiming she was assaulted by a male superior and asking for more than $1 million in damages,\u201d Crabtree reported.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe suit alleged that Herczeg was \u2018targeted for being a female officer and treated less favorably\u2019 and was retaliated against after she <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/cnn-a-network-rife-with-predators-and-perverts-don-lemon-accuser-rips-cnn-after-cuomo-firing\/\" title=\"CNN \u2018A Network Rife With Predators And Perverts\u2019: Don Lemon Accuser Rips CNN After Cuomo Firing\">reported sexual harassment<\/a> and illegal actions of other officers. She also claimed she was not allowed to return to a crime-reduction team after she alleged a senior officer assaulted her. A Texas trial court dismissed the suit, Herczeg appealed, and a Texas court of appeals affirmed the lower court\u2019s decision in 2021 and denied a rehearing in 2022.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhile serving on the Dallas police force, Herczeg and another officer shot an armed man while he sat in a parked car,\u201d Crabtree added. \u201cAccording to a department spokesman, the officers were firing in self defense because the man, who had previously been convicted of sexually assaulting a child, was brandishing a weapon and eventually shot himself in the head. A headline in the Dallas Observer raised some doubt about the official police account: \u2018Two Dallas Cops Shot a Man Last Night, but They Say He Killed Himself.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Kessler told Crabtree that the discrimination lawsuit alone \u201cshould have been enough to exclude her, because you really have to have a pristine record.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCertainly, this has been true in the past. There\u2019s tremendous competition, and she never should have been hired,\u201d Kessler said.<\/p>\n<p>Crabtree also cited Gary Byrne, a former Secret Service agent who protected former <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/gwyneth-paltrow-takes-vulgar-shot-bill-clinton-behavior-movie-screening\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">President Bill Clinton<\/a> and said that there had been \u201cbeen plenty of exceptions to usual Secret Service standards in the agency\u2019s hiring practices, including numerous incidents of nepotism.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cByrne remembered a push for more female agents during the Clinton administration and one female Secret Service officer telling him that she was never required to take a polygraph before she was hired, which is a requirement for all officers and agent applicants,\u201d Crabtree reported.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey tell you if you have character issues or mental-stability issues, you can\u2019t take the job, they\u2019ll find out about it,\u201d Byrne said. \u201cIf you have any instability issues at all, this job will expose them.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Guglielmi, you will not be surprised to learn, denied this was a plausible explanation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cClaims that the Secret Service\u2019s standards have been lowered as a result of our signing this pledge [to hire 30 percent women by 2030] are categorically false,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>If that\u2019s a lie, however, it might be exposed sooner rather than later \u2014 particularly given the petition and the House Judiciary Committee\u2019s relative interest in the matter. In the interim, we can only pray that the letters in DEI don\u2019t get very unironically rearranged because a lunatic \u2014 either within or outside the agency \u2014 was able to assail a high-profile target because of lowered standards and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/former-obama-adviser-gives-cutthroat-analysis-bidens-2024-run-one-big-red-flag-pops\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">missed red flags<\/a>.<\/p>\n<hr>\n<div>\n<p><b><i>A Note from Our Deputy Managing Editor:<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p><i><span>I heard a chilling comment the other day: \u201cWe don\u2019t even know if an election will be held in 2024.\u201d <\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><i><span>That wasn\u2019t said by a conspiracy theorist or a doomsday prophet.
