Omer, a Long Island native turned IDF soldier, \u2062was\u2064 seized near the Nahal Oz border. Omer, originally from Long Island and serving \u2062in the IDF, was taken near the Nahal Oz border.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Pain has struck the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/policy\/foreign-policy\/2993642\/brother-american-hostage-hamas-israel-hard-right-enemy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"families\">families<\/a> of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/?p=2995502&#038;preview=true\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"hostages\">hostages<\/a> who have been longing for their loved ones for seven <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/shades-of-jimmy-carter-gas-lines-inflation-rising-unemployment-return-under-biden\/\" title=\"Shades Of Jimmy Carter: Gas Lines, Inflation, Rising Unemployment Return Under Biden\">straight months<\/a>. They\u2019ve now come together as a group, doing everything they can to bring the missing pieces of their families back together and safe.<\/p>\n<p>The <em>Washington Examiner<\/em> spoke directly with Ronen and Orna Neutra, parents of Omer, 22, who has been <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/chicago-public-schools-reaches-tentative-reopening-deal-with-teachers-union-students-may-return-this-week\/\" title=\"Chicago Public Schools Reaches \u2018Tentative\u2019 Reopening Deal With Teachers Union, Students May Return This Week\">held hostage<\/a> by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/policy\/defense\/2992691\/hamas-ceasefire-agreement-claim\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"Hamas\">Hamas<\/a> since Oct. 7, 2023.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have definitely been terrorized, our son abducted on Oct. 7,\u201d Ronen lamented. \u201cWe have no sign of life.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure><figcaption>Omer Neutra, 22, has been held hostage by Hamas since Oct. 7, 2023<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Omer was born and raised in Long Island, New York. After <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/report-number-of-high-school-graduations-stalled-or-even-dropped-in-2021-because-of-covid-19\/\" title=\"Report: Number of High School Graduations Stalled Or Even Dropped In 2021 Because Of COVID-19\">graduating high school<\/a>, he moved to Israel for what was intended to only be a temporary \u201cgap year.\u201d However, Orna said he soon realized he \u201ccouldn\u2019t just go back to his kind of cushy life in New York\u201d and joined the Israel Defense Forces.<\/p>\n<p>On the morning of Oct. 7, Omer was serving as a tank commander near Nahal Oz, close to the border.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe was one of the first tanks,\u201d Ronen explained. \u201cIf not the first one that rushed to the border. They were ambushed there.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Ronen recalls a video of seeing Omer being dragged out, and that\u2019s the last they\u2019ve seen or heard from him.<\/p>\n<figure><figcaption>Omer Neutra with his family<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Families of the hostages began grieving together. Among one another, they found support. They helped each other strategize and thought collectively. In the process, they\u2019ve all gained new relatives.<\/p>\n<figure><figcaption>Families of hostages gather at the United Nations and requested more be done for the hostages to be released.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The families visited the United Nations together, calling on the global organization to do more for the hostages. John Fetterman (D-PA), working every angle to bring their son home.<\/p>\n<p>At the White House Correspondents dinner, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=zT1jNQqIs_E\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"Fetterman\">Fetterman<\/a> questioned the ongoing campus protests.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhy aren\u2019t we talking more about the hostages?\u201d Fetterman said. \u201cAll of this could end if Hamas surrenders and releases all of the hostages.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure><figcaption>Sen.
