Particularly if you keep track of the most alarming things they say, then it\u2019s very easy to realize that pretty much none of it is true.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Just four years ago, for instance, we were told repeatedly that COVID-19 was a \u201conce-in<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/cnns-zucker-cuomo-deserved-termination-for-using-position-to-help-brother\/\" title=\"CNN\u2019s Zucker: Cuomo \u2018Deserved Termination\u2019 For Using Position To Help Brother\">-a-lifetime pandemic<\/a>.\u201d The United Nations still has an <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.un.org\/en\/un-coronavirus-communications-team\/all-hands-deck-fight-once-lifetime-pandemic\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">article<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">  on its website that makes that exact declaration. It\u2019s called, \u201cAll hands on deck to fight a once-in-a-lifetime pandemic.\u201d It wasn\u2019t written by some intern; the author was the U.N.\u2019s Secretary-General. And he wasn\u2019t the only one saying that, various peer-reviewed <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pmc\/articles\/PMC7171815\/#:~:text=COVID%2D19%20is%2C%20undoubtedly%2C,an%20unprecedented%20global%20health%20crisis.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">papers<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">  promoted by the N.I.H. made the same claim. So did the White House, where Jenn Psaki <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/briefing-room\/press-briefings\/2021\/11\/23\/press-briefing-by-press-secretary-jen-psaki-and-secretary-of-energy-jennifer-granholm-november-23-2021\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">insisted<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">  during a press briefing that COVID was a, \u201conce-in<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/obama-claims-mass-shootings-result-from-disaffection-racism-and-misogyny-demands-gun-control\/\" title=\"Obama Claims Mass Shootings Result From \u2018Disaffection, Racism, And Misogyny,\u2019 Demands Gun Control\">-a-century pandemic<\/a>.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">All those pronouncements didn\u2019t last long. We\u2019re now less than six months away from another presidential election, and just in time, there\u2019s a new \u201conce-in-a-lifetime pandemic\u201d on the horizon. Along with nationwide civil disorder, we\u2019re getting another pathogen.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">In fact, we\u2019re told that this pandemic is going to be much deadlier than the last one. So all the old predictions were way off. It turns out COVID was a \u201ctwice-in-a-lifetime pandemic,\u201d I guess.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Here\u2019s the New York Post to explain:<\/span><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The reporter from the New York Post opens her report by saying that the bird flu could be \u201c100 times worse\u201d than COVID. But she doesn\u2019t explain how she\u2019s coming up with that number.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Later on in the video, she says that 52% of humans who have contracted bird flu since 2003 have died, while COVID only kills 0.1% of people it infects. That makes bird flu sound even more serious than \u201c100 times\u201d more dangerous. But it\u2019s also using very old data. So the question remains: where exactly is the idea that bird flu could be \u201c100 times worse than COVID\u201d coming from?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">If you dig around the New York Post\u2019s article, you\u2019ll find <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2024\/04\/04\/us-news\/bird-flu-pandemic-could-be-100-times-worse-than-covid-scientists-warn\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">this explanation<\/a><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">: <\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><em><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">John Fulton, a pharmaceutical industry consultant for vaccines and the founder of Canada-based BioNiagara \u2026 also expressed his concerns. \u2018This appears to be 100 times worse than COVID \u2014 or it could be if it mutates and maintains its high case fatality rate,\u2019 he said. \u2018Once it\u2019s mutated to infect humans, we can only hope that the [fatality rate] drops.\u2019<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">This is worse \u2014 or it could be. This is something \u2014 actually it\u2019s not that thing, but it could be. Now, the Post is quoting from a Daily Mail interview, in which Fulton also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/health\/article-12015805\/Fresh-pandemic-fears-virologists-discover-bird-flu-spreads-efficiently-ferrets.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">says<\/a><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, <\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><em><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">This discovery is very concerning, and governments should take immediate action by seeking out and mobilizing all high-potential production capacity for vaccines and therapeutics for the prevention and treatment of avian influenza H5N1. \u2026\u2019We need to sound the alarm bells to wake up our governments to the fact that there is a virus that is undergoing mutations that would\/ could eventually allow it to become highly transmissible in human (mammals).<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>So, a guy named John Fulton says that <em>if<\/em> the bird flu mutates to spread easily among humans, <em>then<\/em> it could be 100 times worse than COVID. He says this is all very disturbing, and we need the government to help create (and presumably fund) more \u201cvaccines and therapeutics.\u201d The next time you get your COVID booster \u2014 if you\u2019re one of the four people still doing that \u2014 you should make room on your arm for the Bird Flu vax. That\u2019s the idea. Because of this quote, various news outlets, including the Post, have said that \u201cexperts\u201d are warning about the existential threat posed by bird flu. And this guy is the primary source of this claim, as far as I can tell.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">But John Fulton is not an expert in anything. According to his LinkedIn, he\u2019s got a <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/johnrfulton\/?utm_source=share&#038;utm_campaign=share_via&#038;utm_content=profile&#038;utm_medium=ios_app\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">degree<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">  in \u201ccorporate communications\u201d from something called \u201cBrock University\u201d in Canada. He lists \u201csocial media\u201d as one of his skills. So his qualifications are that he can use Instagram and Facebook. Essentially, he\u2019s a salesman. And he currently consults on the side for something called \u201cPOP Biotechnologies,\u201d which says on its website that it, \u201cdevelops revolutionary therapies that expand treatment possibilities in cancer care and infectious disease prevention.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Where have we seen this before? When have we seen fake \u201cexperts\u201d pretending to know what they talk about, as they raise the alarm about some catastrophic public health emergency \u2014 without disclosing their obvious conflicts of interest? <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">It\u2019s actually hard to believe the media is being this flagrant about the narrative this time. They\u2019re not even getting a scientist to scare everyone. If you wanted to deliberately undermine people\u2019s trust in public health \u2014 more than it\u2019s already been undermined \u2014 then it\u2019s hard to think of what you\u2019d do differently. You\u2019d do exactly what the media is doing now: You\u2019d find some \u201csocial media expert\u201d and get him to say something outrageous and terrifying, and then you\u2019d pretend he knows what he\u2019s talking about.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">To be clear, I\u2019m not saying that bird flu, or H5N1, definitely isn\u2019t a threat. I\u2019m not an expert on the topic anymore than John Fulton is. We\u2019re both just guys giving our opinion. Unlike John Fulton, I\u2019m happy to admit that.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">What I am saying is that, right now \u2014 according to all of the available evidence we have \u2014 there\u2019s no sign that the bird flu is any kind of significant threat to the public, or worthy of any real concern, or any of the blaring headlines it\u2019s getting. There\u2019s no evidence that it\u2019s spreading between humans. There\u2019s one farm worker somewhere who\u2019s supposedly currently infected, and that\u2019s it, as of now. The commercial milk and dairy supply is safe, according to a recent <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.fda.gov\/food\/alerts-advisories-safety-information\/updates-highly-pathogenic-avian-influenza-hpai\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">analysis<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">  of hundreds of random samples. And this tracks with how bird flu has behaved for decades; it <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/flu\/avianflu\/inhumans.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">typically<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">  doesn\u2019t infect people at all. There are no real signs that\u2019s changing.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">But here\u2019s the key point. If that does change \u2014 if bird flu suddenly becomes infectious and starts killing humans, which could theoretically happen, because anything could happen \u2014 then there is no doubt about one thing: It will be a far deadlier pandemic than it would have been, if the public health establishment hadn\u2019t lied to us for years about COVID. Public health authorities proved with COVID that we can\u2019t trust anything they say. If there\u2019s another \u201conce in a lifetime pandemic\u201d \u2014 an actual, real one \u2014 we\u2019ll have no choice but to ignore them, or at best take them with a massive grain of salt. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">And of course, in turn, that will provide them with the pretense to use even more force than last time. In a way, their own flagrant untrustworthiness becomes a benefit to them. It guarantees we will defy them \u2014 because what other choice do we have? \u2014 which gives them the excuse to be authoritarians.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">A year ago, the head of the World Health Organization delivered a speech about the \u201cnext pandemic,\u201d which he said was inevitable. He made it clear that he understands very well that people will be hesitant to ever obey public health officials again. So to counteract that hesitancy \u2014 and to ensure \u201cequity\u201d \u2014 the head of the WHO insisted on \u201cchanges\u201d that, \u201cmust be made.\u201d Watch:<\/span><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cWhen the next pandemic comes knocking \u2014 and it will \u2014 we must be ready to answer decisively, collectively and equitably. And for enhanced international cooperation,\u201d he says. There needs to be a \u201cpandemic accord\u201d to ensure that \u201cthe old cycle of panic and neglect\u201d never happens again. Instead, he says, we need a \u201cshared response\u201d \u2014 directed, of course, by the WHO.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">If you go and look up the \u201cpandemic accord\u201d on the WHO\u2019s <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.who.int\/news-room\/questions-and-answers\/item\/pandemic-prevention--preparedness-and-response-accord\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">website<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, you\u2019ll find that it\u2019s intended to, \u201csupport global coordination through a stronger WHO.\u201d Additionally, \u201cAt the heart of the proposed accord is the need to ensure equity in both access to the tools needed to prevent pandemics (including technologies like vaccines, personal protective equipment, information and expertise) and access to health care for all people.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">If you\u2019re a white guy, that\u2019s all very bad news \u2014 especially if the extremely unlikely scenario really does play out where the bird flu somehow mutates and starts infecting people\u2019s lungs. If they ever develop any treatment that works and won\u2019t make you even sicker, you\u2019re guaranteed to be last on the list. In any event, there\u2019s no point in fretting about whether there will be another COVID-style pandemic, the WHO is saying. It\u2019s inevitable.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">This is a very far cry from the old lines we heard about how COVID was a \u201conce in a century\u201d or \u201conce-in-a-lifetime\u201d pandemic. The moment they realized COVID was over, the public health establishment stopped pretending that it was a rare event. Instead, they immediately got to work on preparing for the next pandemic. And already, with another <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/joe-manchin-says-he-wont-run-for-president-2\/\" title=\"Manchin: No Presidential Run\">presidential election rapidly approaching<\/a>, some of the least impartial and least qualified people in the country desperately want us to believe that it is about to arrive. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Government officials and public health authorities emphasize the importance of recalling recent information.
