Then, they will fly along the Potomac River and turn east over the Lincoln Memorial and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/washington-monument\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Washington Monument<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>According to the press release, AOPA has the permission for the event from 10 government <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/faa\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>agencies<\/a> and Congress. An event like this over the Mall has never been done before with general aviation aircrafts. <\/p>\n<p>The National Park Service warned those in the area not to be alarmed by planes flying over what is usually a restricted \u201cno-fly\u201d zone. <\/p>\n<figure>\n<div>\n<blockquote data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Heads up! Be aware that Saturday, 5\/11, around noon, 60 planes representing the history of general aviation will fly down the Potomac and over the National Mall.
