This storm brings risks from solar \u200bflares \u2064and coronal mass ejections, urging vigilance for potential disruptions to infrastructure and communication networks.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">For the first time since January 2005, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has issued a warning for a harsh <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/do-electromagnetic-fields-regulate-your-health\/\" title=\"Do Electromagnetic Fields Regulate Your Health?\">geomagnetic storm<\/a> that could hit the Earth on Friday night.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">The warning about the Sever G4 Geomagnetic Storm came after Wednesday\u2019s series of solar flares and coronal mass ejections (CMEs) from the sun. CMEs can cause <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/us-issues-severe-geomagnetic-storm-watch-first-warning-in-almost-20-years\/\" title=\"The US Raises 'Severe Geomagnetic Storm Watch' - First Alert in Nearly 20 Years\">geomagnetic storms<\/a> when directed toward the Earth; five of the solar flares appeared to be directed toward the Earth.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cAdditional solar eruptions could cause geomagnetic storm conditions to persist through the weekend,\u201d NOAA warned, adding, \u201cGeomagnetic storms can impact infrastructure in near-Earth orbit and on Earth\u2019s surface, potentially disrupting communications, the electric power grid, navigation, radio and satellite operations.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">On the other hand, geomagnetic storms can also \u201ctrigger spectacular displays of aurora on Earth. A severe geomagnetic storm includes the potential for aurora to be seen as far south as Alabama and Northern California,\u201d NOAA <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swpc.noaa.gov\/news\/media-advisory-noaa-forecasts-severe-solar-storm-media-availability-scheduled-friday-may-10\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">noted<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cDuring a coronal mass ejection, the sun expels billions of tons of material, some of which travel toward our planet,\u201d NBC News<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/science\/science-news\/northern-lights-visible-us-where-solar-storm-rcna151643\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> explained<\/a>. \u201cThe Earth\u2019s magnetic field deflects most of the sun\u2019s particles, but some enter at the poles, where interactions with our atmosphere create the aurora borealis.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">The sun changes from minimum to maximum activity every 11 years; the latest cycle started in 2019 and should peak in July 2025. The Space Weather Prediction Center has an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swpc.noaa.gov\/communities\/aurora-dashboard-experimental\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">aurora dashboard<\/a> that forecasts the northern lights.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Shawn Dahl, service coordinator at the Space Weather Prediction Center, said officials are expecting a \u201cbig shock arrival\u201d when the CMEs hit Earth. \u201cWe\u2019re really buckling down here,\u201d Brent Gordon, chief of the space weather services branch, added, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/severe-geomagnetic-storm-watch-issued-unusual-solar-event\/\">according<\/a> to CBS News.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">At roughly 8 p.m. ET on Friday, when the CMEs are roughly one million miles away, scientists will have a better idea of how strong the geomagnetic storm is. \u201cWhen we see those arrive, that\u2019s when we\u2019ll know the intensity,\u201d Dahl stated.<\/p>\n<p><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) recently issued a rare warning for a severe G4 Geomagnetic Storm, following intense solar activity.
