Her proposed\u2063 legislation,\u200b the &#8220;No Chemicals in Cosmetics Act,&#8221; seeks to \u200cenhance FDA\u2063 oversight\u200c of cosmetic products to tackle the risks of artificial chemicals on health and \u200dthe surging infertility rates.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<p><strong>EXCLUSIVE \u2014 <\/strong>Rep. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/anna-paulina-luna\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Anna Paulina Luna<\/a> (R-FL) is pushing for a federal ban on parabens, a synthetic chemical often used in cosmetics that has been linked to several health problems. <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.scribd.com\/document\/730954044\/No-Chemicals-in-Cosmetics-Act\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Her new bill<\/a>, named the \u201cNo Chemicals in Cosmetics Act,\u201d would ban the chemical from being used in cosmetic products, citing its link to health concerns such as breast <a href=\"https:\/\/washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/cancer\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"cancer\">cancer<\/a>, hormone disruption, and infertility. The bill would increase Food and Drug Administration regulation of cosmetic products, which Luna said have often faced \u201czero regulatory hurdles before hitting the market.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNot only that, infertility rates have risen to previously unseen levels. Much of this arguably has to do with the artificial chemicals in our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/unilever-will-remove-the-word-normal-from-all-packaging-and-advertising-to-promote-inclusivity\/\" title=\"Unilever Will Remove The Word \u2018Normal\u2019 From All Packaging And Advertising To Promote \u2018Inclusivity\u2019\">personal care products<\/a> and cosmetics,\u201d Luna said in a statement. \u201cIf we can spend hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars annually to research cures to these diseases, we can go to the source and start placing simple regulations that eliminate known contributors to disease.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Parabens are synthetic chemicals that are added to some products to increase their shelf life. However, the chemical has raised concerns in recent years after studies revealed parabens can act as an endocrine disruptor and cause reproductive problems in men and women. <\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/members-of-congress-speak-out-on-financial-literacy-education-and-reform\/\" title=\"Members of Congress speak out on financial literacy education and reform\">bipartisan legislation<\/a> is co-sponsored by Rep. Yadira Caraveo (D-CO), a licensed physician who cited other health problems parabens can cause, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/jimmy-carter-makes-first-public-appearance-since-entering-hospice-seven-months-ago\/\" title=\"Jimmy Carter emerges from hospice after seven months.\">including skin cancer<\/a>, hormonal disruption, and birth defects.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe dire reality is that nearly every adult in the U.S. displays traces of paraben contamination,\u201d Caraveo said. \u201cThis bill would help reverse that trend and help ensure that Americans can safely use makeup, sunscreen, and hair care products without having to worry about how it might impact their health.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Rep.
