He highlighted the seriousness\u2063 of the situation with a surge of immigrants crossing the border, often with\u200d cartel assistance.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<p>CNN\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/fareed-zakaria\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Fareed Zakaria<\/a> said during an interview this week that President Joe Biden needed to abandon what he is doing on the border and he needs to follow what former President Donald Trump did on border policy.<\/p>\n<p>Zakaria made the remarks during an interview that airs on PBS\u2019 \u201cFiring Line with Margaret Hoover,\u201d which airs on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>He said that Biden didn\u2019t do anything on the border during his first years in office because \u201che wasn\u2019t taking it seriously enough\u201d as millions of illegals stormed the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/white-house-releases-list-of-president-trumps-accomplishments-and-it-is-historic\/\" title=\"White House Releases List of President Trump\u2019s Accomplishments \u2013  And It Is Historic!\">southern border<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd the reason was he felt he had a progressive wing within his party that wouldn\u2019t listen to reason,\u201d he claimed. \u201cPeople are coming in, aided by cartels to whom they pay huge amounts of money, and they\u2019re not running away from law enforcement. They\u2019re running towards law enforcement because they have figured out that all they have to do is say the magic words, \u2018I have a credible fear of persecution,\u2019 and bingo, you\u2019re in the country legally. You get two court hearings. They could take seven years. Meanwhile, you slip into the shadows of the economy. So the whole system is broken.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd Biden needs to confront that and say, you know, \u2018We are going to have to reform the whole system,&#8217;\u201d he said. \u201cI would wish he\u2019d do something much more extreme, like, say the old asylum system is dead. No one is coming in through that process.
