Despite \u200dhis arguments of selective prosecution, demands for documents,\u2063 and scrutiny of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/donald-trump-arrested-georgia-grand-jury-selected-to-weigh-third-indictment-over-2020-election\/\" title=\"Georgia grand jury chosen to consider third indictment against Donald Trump for 2020 election.\">grand jury selection<\/a>, his legal challenges \u200dpersist.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/hunter-biden\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Hunter Biden<\/a> faced multiple blows in court Thursday, as a judge denied his motion to dismiss his three felony gun charges and an appeals court also ruled against him.<\/p>\n<p>Judge Maryellen Noreika of the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware set a three-to-six day trial beginning June 3.<\/p>\n<p>The Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit rejected his appeal, in which Hunter referenced precedent about \u201cformer <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/project-fear-number-of-uk-omicron-hospitalised-revised-from-250-to-10\/\" title=\"Project Fear: Number of UK Omicron Hospitalised Revised from 250 to 10\">government officials claiming<\/a> they are immunized from prosecution based on separation-of-powers principles\u201d \u2014 even though the first son is not a former government official, and Democrats are zealously seeking to try former president Donald Trump, who is, in state courts.<\/p>\n<p>Hunter also tried to have the charge dismissed by saying the government was bound to a \u201cdiversion agreement\u201d that would have eventually made the gun charges go away.<\/p>\n<p>U.S. Attorney David Weiss drafted the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/hunter-bidens-lawyers-claim-deal-to-resolve-felony-gun-charge-was-binding\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">deal<\/a>, then rescinded it last summer after being embarrassed when <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/gop-investigators-probe-alleged-effort-by-hunter-bidens-lawyers-to-punish-irs-whistleblowers\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">whistleblowers<\/a> provided evidence of the DOJ seemingly hamstringing investigators on the case. Prosecutors could not point to a single case in which they had agreed to such a generous \u201cdiversion agreement\u201d for felony gun charges for anyone else, and a probation officer declined to approve the deal.<\/p>\n<p>A lawyer for rapper <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/kodak-was-charged-for-the-same-crime-hip-hop-stars-lawyer-condemns-hunter-biden-plea-deal\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Kodak Black<\/a>, who received three years in prison for similar charges, said, \u201cThere\u2019s no such thing as not getting jail time on a gun charge\u2026 2 tiers of justice?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Nonetheless, Hunter argued to the court that he is the victim of \u201cselective and vindictive prosecution,\u201d and continued to demand documents to prove it even after the judge shut down the argument. He went so far as to demand information about grand jurors, which is normally secret, because \u201cit remains possible that in this highly-politicized matter, the grand jury was selected without regard to the bias that people might have.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><b><a href=\"https:\/\/onelink.to\/dwapp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" aria-describedby=\"sk-tooltip-9096\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/onelink.to\/dwapp&#038;source=gmail&#038;ust=1700760801843000&#038;usg=AOvVaw2PQrVSrJfhxNb4LcARqniG\">CLICK HERE TO GET THE DAILYWIRE+ APP<\/a><\/b><\/p>\n<p>The judge <a href=\"https:\/\/storage.courtlistener.com\/recap\/gov.uscourts.ded.82797\/gov.uscourts.ded.82797.113.0.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">wrote<\/a>, \u201cThere will be no such evidentiary hearing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The DOJ under Hunter\u2019s father, President Joe Biden, has charged 1,200 January 6 defendants, sometimes for conduct as petty as trespassing, in D.C., which voted 93% for Biden, and secured a nearly 100% conviction rate.<\/p>\n<p>Hunter\u2019s lawyers also sought to use the court case to compel the production of documents relating to former officials in the Trump administration, including former Attorney General Bill Barr. The judge wrote, \u201cDefendant has failed to show how any of the requested communications among former DOJ and Executive Branch officials could constitute exculpatory evidence,\u201d noting that no one who even communicated with them will testify at trial.<\/p>\n<p>The judge noted that the DOJ has turned over voluminous information to Hunter already, including \u201ca forensic copy of the devices seized from The Mac Shop\u201d \u2014 an admission that the Hunter Biden laptop is real, despite government officials suggesting otherwise before the election.<\/p>\n<p>Hunter\u2019s lawyers previously threatened to trigger a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/hunter-bidens-lawyers-threatened-to-put-president-biden-on-witness-stand-if-hunter-was-charged-by-doj-report\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u201cConstitutional crisis\u201d<\/a> by having President Joe Biden testify at his son\u2019s trial.<\/p>\n<p>Hunter is charged with lying on federal firearms purchase forms that he was not a drug user, despite a raging cocaine addiction. His girlfriend eventually threw his gun in a dumpster.
