In\u200d the days \u200dleading to her death, Bowman searched \u2062for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/biden-budget-proposal-refers-to-mothers-as-birthing-people\/\" title=\"Biden Budget Proposal Refers To Mothers As \u2018Birthing People\u2019\">gender-neutral term<\/a> of &#8220;widow.&#8221; \u200bSuspicious activities, including interactions \u200con dating apps\u200d post his wife&#8217;s demise, raised concerns. \u2062Betty&#8217;s sudden death, \u200cinitially thought to be\u2062 food poisoning, prompted investigations into Bowman&#8217;s attempts to halt\u200c autopsy procedures. Details\u2064 emerged, suggesting conflicting\u2063 narratives about Betty&#8217;s health and the circumstances surrounding her\u200d tragic passing.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<p>A former Mayo Clinic medical resident <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/former-mayo-clinic-doctor-charged-with-first-degree-murder-for-allegedly-killing-wife-with-gout-medication\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">charged with poisoning<\/a> his wife allegedly started calling himself a widower before she died.<\/p>\n<p>Connor Bowman, 30, allegedly searched for the gender-neutral version of \u201cwidow\u201d two days before his wife, Betty, died, according to search warrants <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kaaltv.com\/news\/warrants-connor-bowman-told-dating-app-matches-different-stories-about-wifes-death\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">obtained<\/a> by ABC 6 News. The warrant also stated that witnesses had said Bowman was referring to himself as a widower before Betty died.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere were numerous google searches of evidentiary value, including one on [August 18, 2023], two days before Betty died,\u201d the Olmsted County (Minnesota) search warrant said, referring to Bowman\u2019s cellphone that was collected during the search. \u201cThe searches were \u2018is widow.gende\u2019 [sic] and \u2018is widow gender neutral.\u2019 These searches, and other conversations identified so far appeared consistent with the statements provided by witnesses during the investigation, that Connor was identifying himself as a widower, even before Betty died.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Other search warrants found that Bowman was matching with women on dating apps not long after Betty died. One woman matched with him on August 29, 2023, nine days after Betty died. This woman told law enforcement that Bowman mentioned the large life insurance payout from his wife\u2019s death.<\/p>\n<p>A second <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/report-waukesha-parade-massacre-suspect-darrell-brooks-jr-ran-over-woman-weeks-ago\/\" title=\"Report: Waukesha Parade Massacre Suspect Darrell Brooks Jr. Ran Over Woman Weeks Ago\">woman told police<\/a>, according to search warrants, that Bowman implied his wife had died as a result of a morphine overdose a year before they matched on the dating app. And a third woman said Bowman told her that his wife may have died of listeria poisoning. Bowman also allegedly told that woman that Betty had died earlier that summer, and she confronted him when she learned Betty had only died two and a half weeks before they matched on the dating app.<\/p>\n<p>Betty, a 32-year-old pharmacist, died on August 20, 2023, after she was admitted to the Mayo Clinic\u2019s St. Mary\u2019s Hospital complaining of stomach pain, the Rochester Post Bulletin <a href=\"https:\/\/www.postbulletin.com\/news\/local\/rochester-doctor-accused-of-killing-wife-with-poison\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reported<\/a>. At first, Betty\u2019s symptoms mimicked food poisoning, but her condition worsened in the hospital, with fluid building up in her lungs and heart problems. She also had part of her colon removed. Four days after being admitted, she died due to organ failure.<\/p>\n<p>Bowman immediately pushed to have his wife cremated and tried to keep the Southeast Medical Examiner\u2019s Office from performing an autopsy. The ME\u2019s office contacted the Rochester Police Department to report that Betty\u2019s death was suspicious, CBS News <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/minnesota\/news\/connor-bowman-murder-charge-betty-bowman-rochester\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reported<\/a>. According to a criminal complaint obtained by the office, the ME\u2019s office told the police about Bowman trying to stop the autopsy, claiming his wife \u201cdidn\u2019t want to be a cadaver.\u201d Bowman also allegedly contacted a death investigator to ask about the toxicology analysis on his wife.<\/p>\n<p>Staff at the hospital where Bowman worked and Betty\u2019s friends reportedly <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/capitol-breach-suspect-asks-judge-for-permission-to-travel-to-peru-to-get-married\/\" title=\"Capitol Breach Suspect Asks Judge for Permission To Travel to Peru to Get Married\">told investigators<\/a> that Bowman claimed his wife died from the rare condition hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis and even claimed it as the cause of her death in her obituary. However, a friend of Betty\u2019s told investigators that Betty was \u201ca healthy person\u201d and that her marriage was ending due to infidelity and other issues. This friend reportedly told investigators that Bowman and Betty had separate bank accounts because of Bowman\u2019s medical school debts. The friend also said Bowman told them he would collect a $500,<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/pennsylvania-woman-allegedly-faked-her-own-death-to-avoid-being-charged-with-making-a-false-accusation-of-sexual-assault\/\" title=\"Pennsylvania Woman Allegedly Faked Her Own Death To Avoid Being Charged With Making A False Accusation Of Sexual Assault\">000 life insurance policy<\/a> on Betty.<\/p>\n<p>A man who knew Betty told investigators that, days before she died, Betty had texted him to say she had been drinking with Bowman. The next morning, Betty texted the man that she was sick and blamed a smoothie.<\/p>\n<p>Investigators began looking into Bowman after Betty\u2019s death, focusing on his online history. They found that Bowman checked Betty\u2019s e-health records in the week or so after she died. He allegedly used his work devices for those searches, as well as searches about whether internet histories could be used in court, if police could track package deliveries, as well as the search terms \u201cdelete amazon data police,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/poison-specialist-connor-bowman-charged-fatally-poisoning-wife-betty-bowman-minnesota\/\">according<\/a> to CBS.<\/p>\n<p>Bowman also allegedly used an online tool to convert Betty\u2019s weight into milligrams and then multiply that number by 0.8, which is the lethal dosage for colchicine.<\/p>\n<p>Betty\u2019s toxicology report found colchicine in her system, and Bowman was arrested.<\/p>\n<p>If convicted, he faces life in prison without the possibility of parole.<\/p>\n<p><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A ex-Mayo Clinic medical resident, Connor Bowman, 30, facing charges of poisoning his wife, reportedly identified as a widower just before her death.
