Mark Robinson, the Republican candidate, \u200bmaintains \u2062a marginal lead over Democrat Josh Stein. Similarly, the contest for a North Carolina Supreme\u2062 Court\u2062 seat is\u200d narrowly \u200dled by Republican Jefferson Griffin. Additionally, survey results show interesting trends in the presidential and legislative elections.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<figure>                         <\/figure>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The battle to become North Carolina\u2019s next governor is a dead heat, new polling released Thursday shows. <\/p>\n<p>Conducted from May 4-5 by the John Locke Foundation\/Cygnal, the survey among 600 likely Tar Heel State voters shows Republican gubernatorial candidate Mark Robinson maintaining a razor-thin lead over Democrat Josh Stein. If the contest were held today, 39.2 percent of respondents said they\u2019d \u201cdefinitely\u201d or \u201cprobably\u201d vote for Robinson, while 39.1 percent said they\u2019d support Stein. The poll shows 17.1 percent of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/terry-mcauliffe-fundraises-for-self-described-democratic-socialist\/\" title=\"Terry McAuliffe Fundraises For Self-Described Democratic Socialist\">voters remain undecided<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>The numbers are concerning for Robinson, who led Stein by 2 points in the pollster\u2019s April survey (39.9 to 37.9 percent). Robinson led Stein by nearly 5 points in <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/03\/12\/poll-trump-republicans-hold-early-lead-in-north-carolina-ahead-of-2024-election\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">March<\/a>. Since winning the nomination to take on Stein, Robinson has faced a barrage of <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/03\/06\/media-smear-nc-republican-as-conspiracy-theorist-while-celebrating-russia-hoaxer-adam-schiff\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">dishonest smears<\/a> from legacy media.<\/p>\n<p>The race to win a North Carolina Supreme Court seat is also extremely tight, with Republican Jefferson Griffin leading Democrat Allison Riggs by less than 1 point (39.6 to 39.1 percent). The survey shows former President Donald Trump with a 4.5-point lead over President Joe Biden (42.6 to 38.1 percent). Independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. \u2014 who <a href=\"https:\/\/www.carolinajournal.com\/rfk-jr-is-officially-joining-the-nc-ballot\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reportedly<\/a> gained enough signatures to qualify for North Carolina\u2019s 2024 ballot last month \u2014 is shown to have support from 8.8 percent of likely voters, while 6.3 percent remain undecided.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Republicans enjoy a 4-point advantage over Democrats in the generic state legislative ballot (47.2 to 43.2 percent) and a 5.7-point lead in congressional contests (48.3 to 42.6 percent). <\/p>\n<p>The survey also reflected nationwide attitudes towards Biden and the direction of the country. According to the poll, a whopping 56.9 percent of likely North Carolina voters said they \u201cstrongly\u201d or \u201csomewhat\u201d disapprove of Biden\u2019s job as president, with the vast majority \u201cstrongly\u201d disapproving.
