They criticize the\u2063 move amid a\u200d surge in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/democrats-recruiting-gop-senators-for-amnesty-deal\/\" title=\"Democrats Recruiting GOP Senators for Amnesty Deal\">illegal border crossings<\/a> and economic challenges, emphasizing the need for \u200baccountability.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Four Republican senators are pressing the Biden administration for answers over <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/slap-in-the-face-biden-blasted-after-giving-certain-illegal-immigrants-access-to-gov-health-care\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">its announcement<\/a> that it would make some immigrants who entered the U.S. illegally eligible for government-backed health care coverage.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">In a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.blackburn.senate.gov\/services\/files\/017C5FB5-7DB1-4197-AB41-BEE951E25AB4\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">letter<\/a> to Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra on Wednesday, Sens. Marsha Blackburn (TN), Kevin Cramer (ND), Mike Lee (UT), and J.D. Vance (OH) demanded that Becerra provide more details about a plan announced on Friday to allow immigrants with Deferred Action for Childhood Arrival (DACA) status to enroll in Obamacare. The Biden administration estimated that the coverage could impact around 100,000 DACA recipients. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cAt a time when our nation has endured record numbers of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/white-house-press-secretary-forgets-biden-signed-executive-order-to-resume-catch-and-release\/\" title=\"White House press secretary forgets Biden signed executive order to resume \u2018catch and release\u2019\">illegal immigrants crossing<\/a> the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/white-house-releases-list-of-president-trumps-accomplishments-and-it-is-historic\/\" title=\"White House Releases List of President Trump\u2019s Accomplishments \u2013  And It Is Historic!\">southern border<\/a>, this announcement sends a clear message: fixing the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/house-judiciary-gop-biden-threatening-to-terminate-major-portion-of-border-patrol-agents-if-not-vaccinated\/\" title=\"House Judiciary GOP: Biden \u2018Threatening To Terminate\u2019 Major Portion Of Border Patrol Agents If Not Vaccinated\">manufactured border crisis<\/a> is the last thing that the Biden administration wants to do,\u201d the Republicans wrote. \u201cIn Biden\u2019s economy, inflation is on the rise while job growth is slowing down. Unemployment is at a two-year high, and foreign born workers are flooding the workforce.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cWhen America\u2019s borders are open and our citizens\u2019 wallets are hurting, the last thing this administration should be doing is providing free health care coverage to immigrants,\u201d the letter added. \u201cThe American people deserve answers on such a disastrous policy.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The decision was made possible by a Biden administration rule changing the definition of \u201clawfully present\u201d to include DACA recipients, who were given special status after their parents brought them to the United States as children illegally. The rule will go into effect just before the presidential election, as DACA recipients will be able to register for coverage on November 1.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Senators asked Becerra to provide the legal justification for expanding Obamacare eligibility without congressional authorization and for the Biden administration to estimate the expansion\u2019s cost. Additionally, the Republicans asked if coverage would only apply to DACA recipients or include their family members<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><a href=\"https:\/\/onelink.to\/dwapp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" aria-describedby=\"sk-tooltip-9096\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/onelink.to\/dwapp&#038;source=gmail&#038;ust=1714657703188000&#038;usg=AOvVaw0-8IzS3B7axoRMsynY0m75\">CLICK HERE TO GET THE DAILYWIRE+ APP<\/a><\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">In September last year, a federal judge in Texas <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/judge-rules-daca-is-illegal-says-biden-admin-cannot-usurp-congressional-power\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ruled<\/a> that the DACA program was unconstitutional because the executive branch had to \u201cusurp\u201d congressional authority to enact the policy.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cWhile sympathetic to the predicament of DACA recipients and their families, this court has expressed concerns about the legality of the program for some time. The solution for these deficiencies lies with the legislature, not the executive or judicial branches.
