The ad&#8217;s\u200d inaccuracy mirrored a previous one retracted \u2062by Hovde&#8217;s supporters. Tammy Baldwin<\/a> (D-WI) has been pulled from the air for including falsehoods. <\/p>\n<p>The ad claimed Baldwin \u201ccut Medicare funding and used that money to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/gop-senators-respond-to-senate-dems-passing-massive-healthcare-climate-and-tax-bill\/\" title=\"GOP Senators Respond To Senate Dems Passing Massive Healthcare, Climate, And Tax Bill\">subsidize electric vehicles<\/a>.\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/democrats\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Democrats<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/wisdems.org\/wisdems-news\/hovde-dark-money-allies-forced-to-take-down-false-attack-ad\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>believe<\/a> the ad was referring to Baldwin\u2019s vote in favor of the Inflation Reduction Act, which did not cut Medicare but left Medicare benefits unaffected.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis ad is just as false as the one that Hovde\u2019s out-of-state backers were forced to pull down. Tammy Baldwin\u2019s record is clear: She\u2019ll always fight for every Wisconsinite and their families,\u201d Baldwin campaign spokeswoman Jackie Rosa told the <em>Washington Examiner<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>The legislation made no cuts to Medicare and instead allowed Medicare to negotiate prices for the first time in the program\u2019s history. It is estimated that negotiations could save the program $300 million.<\/p>\n<p>The Restoration PAC, largely funded by GOP megadonor and Uline President Richard Uihlein, was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailykos.com\/stories\/2024\/5\/7\/2239446\/-Why-a-false-GOP-ad-attacking-a-Wisconsin-Democrat-just-got-pulled\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>forced to pull<\/a> the ad off the air as television stations can be held liable for publishing libelous statements funded by third-party groups. <\/p>\n<p>Under federal law, television stations and broadcast networks must air ads from campaigns so long as they are paid for. Stations cannot be sued for false advertising from candidates since they are forced to run them. They can, however, be sued for false ads paid for by third-party groups, such as the Restoration PAC.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/washingtonexaminer.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title><strong>CLICK HERE TO READ MORE FROM THE WASHINGTON EXAMINER<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The race between Baldwin and the Republican-presumptive nominee, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/eric-hovde\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Eric Hovde<\/a>, a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/2894821\/wisconsin-gop-candidate-struggles-fight-carpetbagger-accusations-company-shuts-down-local-bar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>businessman<\/a> with California ties, is looking to favor Baldwin. According to a recent <a href=\"https:\/\/law.marquette.edu\/poll\/category\/poll-release\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Marquette Law School poll<\/a>, Baldwin is polling ahead of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/campaigns\/2959970\/eric-hovde-questions-fitness-of-nursing-home-patients-to-vote\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Hovde<\/a>, with Baldwin garnering 52% of the vote and Hovde 47%. <\/p>\n<p>Baldwin has served as Wisconsin\u2019s junior senator since 2013 alongside Sen.
