They grilled her on selling\u2062 her story years later. Trump&#8217;s attorney suggested Daniels aimed to extort \u200cmoney. Despite the accusation, Daniels denied the\u200d claim. This incident unfolded during Trump&#8217;s trial in New York. During Donald Trump&#8217;s trial \u2063in New York, his\u2062 lawyers questioned\u2063 Stormy Daniels \u2062on her assertion that money didn&#8217;t influence her accusation \u200cof\u2064 a sexual encounter with Trump. They probed \u2064her about selling her story later on. \u200dTrump&#8217;s attorney insinuated\u200b that Daniels sought\u2064 to extort\u2064 money, but Daniels rejected\u200c the allegation.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Donald Trump\u2019s attorneys confronted porn star <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/stormy-daniels\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"New York\">Stormy Daniels<\/a> on Tuesday during the former president\u2019s trial in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/new-york\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"New York\">New York<\/a>, raising questions about the credibility of her claim that money did not motivate her to come forward with her allegation of a sexual encounter with Trump.<\/p>\n<p>Trump attorney Susan Necheles grilled Daniels about why she decided to sell her story about Trump in 2016, a decade after the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/trump-attorneys-press-stormy-daniels-on-if-she-extorted-trump\/\" title=\"Trump's lawyers question Stormy Daniels on alleged extortion of Trump\">purported incident occurred<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou were looking to extort money from President Trump,\u201d Necheles said, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/politics\/live-news\/trump-hush-money-trial-05-07-24\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>reports<\/a> from the courtroom by CNN.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFalse,\u201d Daniels replied.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat\u2019s what you did, right?\u201d the attorney asked.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFalse,\u201d Daniels said.<\/p>\n<figure><figcaption>Stormy Daniels, second from left, exits the courthouse in New York, Tuesday, May 7, 2024. (AP Photo\/Seth Wenig)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Daniels\u2019s attorney Keith Davidson testified earlier in the trial that he negotiated a deal with Trump\u2019s then-attorney Michael Cohen that involved Cohen paying Daniels $130,000 so that she would not go to the media in 2016 about her alleged tryst with Trump.<\/p>\n<p>The payment, for which Cohen was later prosecuted, is central to the charges against Trump. Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, an elected Democrat, has alleged that Trump falsified records after the 2016 election to hide the payments and that the move was part of a scheme to influence the election.<\/p>\n<p>Daniels thoroughly detailed on Tuesday how she allegedly had sex with Trump, resulting at one point in an admonishment from the judge, who found her testimony gratuitous. While her testimony was a colorful account, her purpose as a witness for Bragg was to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/trump-attorney-uncovers-inconsistency-in-peckers-catch-and-kill-testimony\/\" title=\"Trump's lawyer exposes discrepancy in Pecker's 'catch-and-kill' testimony\">bolster prosecutors\u2019 argument<\/a> that the sexual encounter did indeed happen, as well as to support their narrative about the motivation behind the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/supreme-court-rejects-trump-bid-to-shield-financial-records\/\" title=\"Supreme Court Rejects Trump Bid To Shield Financial Records\">hush money payment<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Daniels also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/just-in-man-who-fatally-shot-ahmaud-arbery-takes-stand-at-murder-trial\/\" title=\"JUST IN: Man Who Fatally Shot Ahmaud Arbery Takes Stand At Murder Trial\">told defense attorneys<\/a> she was threatened in 2011 by an unidentified person and that it scared her from coming forward about Trump. The attorneys pressed her on the threat as they questioned its validity.<\/p>\n<p>They also zeroed in on how she could profit from telling a tale about Trump.
