Travis could no longer speak or sing.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Now, the Country Music Hall of Fame inductee has released a new song created using AI.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cEleven years ago I never thought I would be able to have a hand in music production of any kind,\u201d Travis <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/entertainment\/randy-travis-uses-ai-new-music-after-stroke-damaged-brain-speech\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">said<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> in a statement to Fox News Digital.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cBut by God\u2019s grace and the support of family, friends, fellow artists and fans, I\u2019m able to create the music I so dearly love. Working with Kyle Lehning and Warner Music Nashville again has been so special and nostalgic, and I\u2019m so excited to share my new song \u2018Where That Came From\u2019 with you today. Many thanks to my wonderful team and the best fans in the world for putting me back in the saddle again! I\u2019ve enjoyed every moment of it.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The singer\u2019s wife, Mary, often accompanies him to interviews to help him express his feelings despite his limited speech ability. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cMusic is what he\u2019s made of. Music is his heart, it\u2019s his soul,\u201d she said, per <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/randy-travis-artificial-intelligence-song-voice-589a8c142f70ed8ccf53af6d32c662dc\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">AP<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">. \u201cWe were all over that, so we were so excited,\u201d Mary said of being offered the opportunity for Travis to make music again. \u201cAll I ever wanted since the day of [the] stroke was to hear that voice again.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The singer\u2019s producer, Kyle Lehning, said Travis was very involved in the process of making new music. A proprietary AI program took samples of the singer\u2019s previously recorded vocals and laid them over another singer\u2019s vocals.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cIt\u2019s not about how it sounds; it\u2019s about how it feels,\u201d Lehning explained. \u201cHim being here and him being able to be a vital part of the decision-making process makes all the difference to me.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cIt\u2019s Randy Travis. Randy\u2019s on the other side of the microphone. It\u2019s still his vocal. It was beautiful because at first, he was surprised, and then he was very pensive, and he was listening and studying,\u201d she said. \u201cAnd then he put his head down and his eyes were a little watery.
