The \u2064video showcased prominent executives \u2062like \u2064Dentsu&#8217;s Cara Lewis and Publicis Groupe\u2019s \u2064Shelby Saville emphasizing TikTok&#8217;s reach and impact. Despite the ownership dispute, TikTok&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/youtube-suspends-demonetizes-one-america-news-network\/\" title=\"YouTube Suspends, Demonetizes One America News Network\">parent company<\/a>, ByteDance, plans to challenge the law in court.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<p>America\u2019s largest ad-buying firms collaborated on a promotional video praising TikTok, less than two weeks after President Joe Biden signed a law requiring the platform to sell or shutter over concerns about its intersection with the Chinese Communist Party.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re TikTok, of course dentsu, Havas, IPG Mediabrands, Horizon Media, Publicis Groupe and GroupM loaned us their media superstar talent to tell you all why your brand should be on TikTok,\u201d the social media company <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/posts\/tiktokbusiness_were-tiktok-of-course-dentsu-havas-ipg-activity-7192215778077671424-5bJC\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">said<\/a> on LinkedIn on May 3, saying the brands\u2019 executives were \u201csetting the tone on how TikTok is the key to scaling your brand\u2019s success \u2013 and, of course, jumping on a cool trend you might have seen around.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The video featured Dentsu executive Cara Lewis literally singing TikTok\u2019s praises, while Publicis Groupe\u2019s Shelby Saville pretended to cry because she was so moved by videos of dogs on the app and said \u201cTikTok reaches 170 million monthly active US users. That\u2019s a lot of eyeballs\u2026 TikTok is more than just Gen Z.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Horizon Media, which bills itself as the \u201clargest U.S. media agency\u201d had executive Dave Campanelli toss a football while discussing how it helped his company reach sports fans.<\/p>\n<p>TikTok CEO Shou Zi Chew has suggested the firm\u2019s Chinese owner, ByteDance, will <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/chinese-company-bytedance-appears-to-ignore-threat-of-u-s-ban-says-it-has-no-plans-to-sell-tiktok-report\">refuse<\/a> to sell its stake, and that it will instead challenge the law in court on constitutional grounds. The law gives the firm one year to find a new owner.<\/p>\n<p>None of the ad-buying firms would discuss why U.S. companies were promoting the Chinese-owned firm despite the new law and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/blackburn-introduces-amendments-to-counter-china-and-iran\/\" title=\"Blackburn Introduces Amendments to Counter China and Iran\">national security concerns<\/a>. A Publicis subsidiary allegedly pressed clients <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/x-says-it-lost-advertisers-after-anti-misinformation-firm-peddled-misinformation\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">not to advertise on X<\/a> based on data that falsely said it was unsafe following Elon Musk\u2019s purchase.<\/p>\n<p>The House Judiciary Committee said some advertising firms may have <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/congress-calls-in-head-of-advertisers-alleged-censorship-operation-using-antitrust-laws-to-target-woke-collusion\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">violated anti-trust laws<\/a> \u2014 despite nominally being competitors \u2014 by working together as the Global Alliance for Responsible Media (GARM) to prohibit any advertising on media outlets that are deemed to convey \u201cmisinformation.\u201d The group is affiliated with the World Economic Forum, and \u201cmisinformation\u201d often means journalism that is out-of-sync with official government lines on issues like the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/columnist-rips-jon-stewart-for-saying-he-believes-covid-19-originated-in-chinese-lab\/\" title=\"Columnist Rips Jon Stewart For Saying He Believes COVID-19 Originated In Chinese Lab\">coronavirus lab-leak theory<\/a>.
