The company denies retaliation claims, but\u2063 scrutiny continues amid ongoing \u200dcontroversies.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<header> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/commentary\/\">  Commentary <\/a>   <span> <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/author\/aaltomari\/\">  <\/a> <\/p>\n<p> <span>   By <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/author\/aaltomari\/%20\"><span>Anthony Altomari<\/span><\/a> <\/span> <span>   May 7, 2024 at 6:15am <\/span> <\/span>  <\/header>\n<section>\n<p>Things continue to go from bad to worse for Boeing.<\/p>\n<p>Even as the unexpected deaths of two whistleblowers who went public with concerns about the company\u2019s practices have made headlines across the country, 10 more whistleblowers are waiting in the wings, according to a <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2024\/05\/04\/us-news\/boeing-faces-10-more-whistleblowers-after-two-die\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">New York Post<\/a> report.<\/p>\n<p>Joshua Dean, a whistleblower for a Boeing supplier, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/whistleblower-company-supplies-boeing-fuselages-dies-age-45\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">died April 30<\/a> after contracting pneumonia, then drug-resistant bacterial infection.<\/p>\n<p>Dean\u2019s death at 45 came just two months after John Barnett, another Boeing whistleblower, was found dead in his car in Charleston, South Carolina. Barnett\u2019s death was deemed an \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/mother-dead-boeing-whistleblower-blames-company-sons-death-nobody-listen\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">apparent suicide<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Barnett, 62, was in Charleston to provide testimony against Boeing in an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/lawsuit-alleges-incoming-nyc-schools-chancellor-discriminated-against-white-administrators\/\" title=\"Lawsuit Alleges Incoming NYC Schools Chancellor Discriminated Against White Administrators\">ongoing lawsuit<\/a> regarding serious safety issues with Boeing\u2019s 737 aircraft, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/fortune.com\/2024\/04\/24\/exclusive-the-boeing-whistleblower-testified-for-12-hours-before-his-suicide-heres-what-he-saw-at-the-planemaker-that-alarmed-him\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Fortune<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>And whistleblowers aren\u2019t going away.<\/p>\n<p>One such whistleblower, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/ex-boeing-manager-says-absolutely-not-fly-max-airplane-working-factory\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ed Pierson<\/a>, a former <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/female-amazon-driver-beats-up-elderly-woman-after-reportedly-telling-her-to-check-her-white-privilege\/\" title=\"Female Amazon Driver Beats Up Elderly Woman After Reportedly Telling Her To \u2018Check Her White Privilege\u2019\">senior manager<\/a> at Boeing\u2019s 737 factory in Renton, Washington, attempted to get Boeing executives to halt production of the 737, according to the Post.<\/p>\n<p>In 2018 and 2019, two 737 MAX crashes killed a total of 346 passengers and crew.<\/p>\n<p>Pierson left Boeing six years ago to become the founder of the Foundation for Aviation Safety, an organization dedicated to improving airline safety and holding companies like Boeing accountable for their failures, according to the Post.<\/p>\n<div id=\"firefly-poll-container\">\n<p>Are there serious problems at Boeing?<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s an unstable company right now from the top to the bottom,\u201d Pierson told the Post. \u201cSenior corporate leadership is so fixated on not admitting the truth that they can\u2019t admit anything.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The allegations raised by the whistleblowers against Boeing have been damning, accusing the company of cutting safety corners in the interest of profit, and misleading the public about the safety of their aircraft.<\/p>\n<p>Pierson testified before Congress in April and accused Boeing of being complicit in covering up safety incidents with its aircraft.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m not going to sugarcoat this, this was a criminal coverup,\u201d Pierson <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=iCEQd_eeaD8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">said<\/a> in reference to Boeing\u2019s\u00a0 response to the Alaska Airlines incident in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/ap-us-airline-grounds-boeing-737-max-9-jetliners-frightening-inflight-failure\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">January<\/a>, where an exit door blew off a Boeing 737 MAX 9 jetliner mid-flight, requiring an emergency landing.<\/p>\n<p>Barnett, who retired as a quality engineer for Boeing in 2017, spoke out to warn the public that Boeing was cutting corners to get its aircraft into service quicker, the Post reported.<\/p>\n<p>One anonymous Boeing employee told the Post that he was skeptical about the circumstances surrounding Barnett\u2019s death, <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2024\/03\/15\/us-news\/boeing-whistleblower-john-barnett-made-powerful-enemies-before-alleged-suicide-workers-warn\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">saying<\/a> that Barnett had \u201cmade some pretty powerful enemies\u201d at Boeing.<\/p>\n<p>Police investigating Barnett\u2019s death have found no evidence of foul play.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking in the aftermath of Barnett\u2019s death, Boeing downplayed any assertion of retaliation, stating that they \u201cencourage all employees to speak up when issues arise. Retaliation is strictly prohibited at Boeing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Dean, who worked at Spirit AeroSystems, a Wichita, Kansas-based company that manufactures major aircraft parts for Boeing, raised concerns in 2022, claiming that bulkhead holes were being improperly drilled on parts for the 737 MAX.<\/p>\n<p>He was fired from his company less than a year later.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think they were sending out a message to anybody else,\u201d Dean told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.npr.org\/2024\/02\/05\/1228720602\/boeing-737-max-spirit-aerosystems-kansas-factory-problems\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NPR<\/a> in February. \u201cIf you are too loud, we will silence you.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s not just whistleblowers that have called out Boeing for its failures.\u00a0 In September 2020, the House Tranpsortation Committee \u2014 then under control fo the Democratic Party \u2014 issued a <a href=\"https:\/\/democrats-transportation.house.gov\/imo\/media\/doc\/2020.09.15%20FINAL%20737%20MAX%20Report%20for%20Public%20Release.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">report<\/a> of an investigation into Boeing\u2019s culpability for the 2018 and 2019 737 MAX crashes.<\/p>\n<p>The reported, issued by the committee\u2019s Democratic majority, concluded that the crashes were \u201cthe horrific culmination of a series of faulty technical assumptions by Boeing\u2019s engineers, a lack of transparency on the part of Boeing\u2019s management, and grossly insufficient oversight by the FAA.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>And still, three years later, whistleblowers continue to speak out against the company\u2019s practices \u2014 one of the worst nightmares a major manufacturer can face.<\/p>\n<p>The Post did not identify the 10 more whistleblowers who are going to come forward, but the country could learn their names soon.
