Joe Biden, who is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ushmm.org\/information\/press\/president-joseph-biden-to-deliver-keynote-address-at-museums-annual-days-of\">giving a speech<\/a> at the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum\u2019s Days of Remembrance ceremony in Washington today, tried to stop them.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2-long d-flex justify-content-center\" style=\"margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center; \" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-1099131580\">\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1379703300879-0\" class=\"mb-30\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-4b3cb3f8b21d1b65b91e0b4288c03872 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-4b3cb3f8b21d1b65b91e0b4288c03872\"><\/div>\n<p>Holocaust remembrances can often be little more than empty virtue signaling. It takes no moral courage to condemn crimes of the past if you\u2019re not willing to stop the crimes of today. Save your sympathy.<\/p>\n<p>Indeed, perhaps the most self-destructive myth within the modern Jewish American community is that the best way to temper hate is to fund more Holocaust education. It probably <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theatlantic.com\/magazine\/archive\/2023\/05\/holocaust-student-education-jewish-anti-semitism\/673488\/\">causes<\/a> the opposite reaction. If the Holocaust taught us anything, it\u2019s that Jews can\u2019t wait for others \u2014 not even the most educated <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/despite-insistence-by-democrat-politicians-and-medical-elites-empirical-evidence-does-not-conclusively-show-that-masks-reduce-the-spread-of-covid\/\" title=\"Despite Insistence by Democrat Politicians and Medical Elites, Empirical Evidence DOES NOT Conclusively Show that Masks Reduce the Spread of COVID\">people<\/a> in the world \u2014 to protect them. As Jeff Jacoby <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Jeff_Jacoby\/status\/1787501740016763306\">notes<\/a>, \u201cIsrael doesn\u2019t exist because there was a Holocaust. There was a Holocaust because Israel didn\u2019t exist.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>And if keffiyeh-wearing Hamas cheerleaders weren\u2019t moved by Oct. 7 videos of Jewish women being sexually tortured and slain, they sure aren\u2019t going to be shocked into decency by 80-year-old grainy black and white pictures of bodies piled in pits. Do we really believe the Hamas apologists on major newspaper editorial boards, in the State Department, on Ivy League campuses, and in Congress don\u2019t know this history? Of course they do. They often appropriate this past Jewish suffering by risibly accusing Israel of Nazi war crimes.<\/p>\n<p>For the left, even minor political setbacks can be likened to Nazi Germany\u2014but don\u2019t you dare point out that cosplay revolutionaries on campus are trying to reenact <em>Kristallnacht<\/em>. Oh, it\u2019s not about the Jews? Where are the \u201cpeace\u201d protesters when Syria deploys chemical warfare against civilians? Or when the Chicoms open internment camps for Uyghurs? Or when the mullahs crack down on Iranian women? On foreign policy, the social justice warrior has an exceptionally narrow focus. It is not happenstance.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-038532197dcc9d14e3d6d8f1007831cd fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-6\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-038532197dcc9d14e3d6d8f1007831cd\"><\/div>\n<p>Perhaps it\u2019s because Jews are too \u201cwhite.\u201d Maybe it\u2019s because Jews have been successful and capitalistic and thrive in meritocratic Western nations. Perhaps it\u2019s because the alleged victims of fictitious Jewish \u201ccolonialism,\u201d \u201capartheid,\u201d and \u201cgenocide\u201d are brown and poor and Muslims.<\/p>\n<p>Or perhaps it\u2019s because Israel is more powerful than its enemies. This, of course, is due to the Jewish state having to fight and win wars instigated by its foes. Every time Israel repels new aggression, as it has for seven decades, the would-be invaders demand everyone <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/the-world-is-paying-a-deadly-price-for-barack-obamas-foreign-policy-legacy\/\" title=\"The Global Consequences of Barack Obama's Foreign Policy Choices\">rewind history<\/a> to a time more convenient to their cause. In this one case, Westerners always seem to oblige.<\/p>\n<p>Whatever drives the hate, it speaks to the violent stupidity and immorality of\u00a0contemporary identitarian beliefs.<\/p>\n<p>Moreover, right now a nuclear Iran and its terror proxies in the Middle East are a bigger threat to Jews than the bumbling Nazis who marched in the Beer Hall Putsch were in 1923. The Hamas sympathizers protesting across the United States, and their fellow travelers in the media, government, and academia, are more organized and popular than the German-American Bund was in the 1930s, which at its height perhaps <a href=\"https:\/\/encyclopedia.ushmm.org\/content\/en\/article\/german-american-bund\">reached<\/a> 25,000 members in the entire country. Only a (dead) fool waits for his enemies to catch up.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-2dc94310af64f74ca68a3ae73a30abf3 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-10\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-2dc94310af64f74ca68a3ae73a30abf3\"><\/div>\n<p>Speaking of which, even as the president offers perfunctory remarks at the Holocaust Museum, the administration will be <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/04\/23\/joe-biden-says-there-are-very-fine-people-on-both-sides-of-the-oct-7-debate\/\">both-siding<\/a> the domestic Hamas-Israel debate, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/world\/middle-east\/biden-speaks-with-israels-netanyahu-after-strike-kills-food-aid-workers-2024-04-04\/#:~:text=WASHINGTON%2C%20April%204%20(Reuters),to%20influence%20Israeli%20military%20behavior.\">threatening<\/a> to pull Israeli aid, appeasing <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/04\/08\/joe-biden-is-now-chasing-the-death-to-america-voter\/\">Jew haters<\/a> in Michigan for votes, and pressuring Israel to hand a Holocaust denier a brand new state right next door. <\/p>\n<p>No, I\u2019m not talking about Hamas, though it would likely take over any independent Palestinian state at some point. I\u2019m talking about Mahmoud Abbas, who runs a Fatah kleptocracy in the West Bank.\u00a0Abbas was one of the leading minds behind anti-Jewish terrorism of the 1970s and \u201980s. Among other events, he was <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/winter-olympics-sports-israel-germany-middle-east-1f2c2b601c4e4f48f88dff61b1a55271\">one of the planners<\/a> of the Munich Massacre of Israeli athletes in 1972.<\/p>\n<p>In his 1982 dissertation, written in the Soviet Union, Abbas claimed the Zionists collaborated with the Nazis to spur more Jewish immigration to the Middle East. Abbas argues that perhaps fewer than one million Jews were killed, rather than six million. Soviet Zionology, not incidentally, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tabletmag.com\/sections\/arts-letters\/articles\/mahmoud-abbas-soviet-dissertation\">sounds<\/a> a lot like progressive pro-Palestinian rhetoric.<\/p>\n<p><em>Only last year<\/em>, in a speech to the \u201cFatah Revolutionary Council, Abbas <a href=\"https:\/\/www.timesofisrael.com\/abbas-ashkenazi-jews-are-not-semites-hitler-killed-them-for-their-social-role\/\">claimed<\/a> Adolf Hitler\u2019s destruction of European Jewry was not an act of antisemitism but prompted by \u201csocial functions\u201d that were \u201crelated to money, and usury.\u201d From \u201cHitler\u2019s point of view,\u201d Abbas explained, Jews \u201cwere sabotaging, and therefore he hated them.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Boy, those Jewish kids herded into gas chambers must have been charging Germans some crazy interest rates, right?<\/p>\n<p>Biden spoke to Abbas a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/briefing-room\/statements-releases\/2023\/10\/14\/readout-of-president-bidens-call-with-president-mahmoud-abbas-of-the-palestinian-authority\/\">month<\/a> after this speech and, as far as we can tell, didn\u2019t bother mentioning those comments.<\/p>\n<p>Now, we should concede that Abbas probably understands Hitler\u2019s \u201cpoint of view\u201d better than most, as it has been ingrained in Palestinian political and societal culture. The Palestinian leader is an intellectual and spiritual progeny of the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem, Haj Amin al-Husseini, an ally of the Nazis before any \u201coccupation.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Husseini met with Hitler and Heinrich Himmler. On Berlin radio, he <a href=\"https:\/\/books.google.com\/books?id=YzQNSTvHv-sC&#038;pg=PA213&#038;lpg=PA213&#038;dq=%22Kill+the+Jews+wherever+you+find+them--this+pleases+God,+history+and+religion.%22&#038;source=bl&#038;ots=Z79zVyPEtC&#038;sig=0B2EH64yZfDRhaUyBO6P9FEOsJw&#038;hl=en&#038;sa=X&#038;ved=0CDYQ6AEwBGoVChMIgq-botXUyAIVxj4-Ch0QEQm0#v=onepage&#038;q=%22Kill%20the%20Jews%20wherever%20you%20find%20them--this%20pleases%20God%2C%20history%20and%20religion.%22&#038;f=false\">implored<\/a> European Muslims to \u201ckill the Jews wherever you find them\u2014this pleases God, history, and religion,\u201d while recruiting thousands of Bosnian Muslims into the SS. His picture hangs on walls across the Palestinian territories. <\/p>\n<p>The Nazis are dead now. Fatah, which rewards the families of \u201cmartyrs,\u201d is around. The sadistic murderers and rapists of Hamas are also here (hopefully not for long). The\u00a0people who cheer on and justify their actions are also among us.
