Jordan \u200bcriticized the agency&#8217;s emphasis\u200d on DEI \u2064over qualifications, raising concerns about its impact on public safety and\u200b civil liberties. This action follows President \u200cBiden&#8217;s executive order promoting DEI programs.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<div data-td-block-uid=\"tdi_78\">\n<p>House Judiciary Committee Chairman <a href=\"http:\/\/washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/jim-jordan\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Jim Jordan<\/a> (R-OH) is opening an inquiry into the <a href=\"http:\/\/washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/fbi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>FBI<\/a> regarding the agency\u2019s hiring practices, particularly those that involve diversity, equity, and inclusion directives from the <a href=\"http:\/\/washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/biden-administration\/\" title>Biden administration<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Jordan sent a <a href=\"https:\/\/judiciary.house.gov\/sites\/evo-subsites\/republicans-judiciary.house.gov\/files\/evo-media-document\/2024-05-06%20JDJ%20to%20Wray%20re%20hiring%20issues%5B31%5D.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>letter<\/a> to FBI Director <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/christopher-wray\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Christopher Wray<\/a> on Monday criticizing the agency for its \u201chyper-fixation\u201d on <a href=\"http:\/\/washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/dei\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>DEI<\/a> as opposed to \u201cqualifications\u201d to attract and retain the best federal law enforcement candidates and officers. Inslee Declare Racism A Public Health Crisis\">chief diversity officer<\/a>, in April 2021.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFrom that time forward, we understand that the FBI has struggled with attracting enough qualified applicants from all desired target groups to sustain its mission,\u201d Jordan wrote. \u201cThis is likely due to the FBI re-focusing its recruitment efforts on DEI statistics.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Jordan referenced an October 2023 report from retired special agents and analysts from the FBI that claimed the capabilities of the agency were \u201cdegrading\u201d because the FBI is no longer hiring \u201cthe best and the brightest\u201d candidates. Instead, the former agents claimed, the FBI hires candidates who \u201csatisfy the FBI\u2019s priorities to meet Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) mandates.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The committee is asking Wray to provide the number of FBI agents and professional support employees employed as applicant coordinators or DEI coordinators, all documents that detail rewards or incentives given to FBI senior executive service managers for meeting DEI goals, and all communications regarding the implementation of Biden\u2019s DEI executive orders. In April, Rep.
