Emmanuel<\/span><\/a> <\/span> <span>   May 6, 2024 at 11:32am <\/span> <\/span>  <\/header>\n<section>\n<p>When you hear the phrase \u201cAs American as apple pie,\u201d your mind may conjure images of faded blue jeans, the crack of a baseball bat\u00a0or\u00a0dazzling Fourth of July fireworks exploding in time to the music of a hometown band.<\/p>\n<p>But if you ask Fulton County, Georgia, District Attorney Fani Willis\u2019 former lover, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/fani-willis-allegedly-warned-nathan-wades-lawyer-keep-quiet-coming-us\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Nathan Wade<\/a>, he would tell you to add \u201cworkplace romances\u201d while married to that list.<\/p>\n<p>In an interview with <a href=\"https:\/\/abcnews.go.com\/US\/fulton-county-prosecutor-nathan-wade-speaks-workplace-romances\/story?id=109939216\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ABC News\u2019<\/a> Linsey Davis \u2014 part of which aired Monday on \u201cGood Morning America\u201d \u2014 the former special prosecutor in the corruption and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/georgia-indictment-says-trump-telling-people-watch-tv-proof-racketeering-activity\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">racketeering<\/a> case against former President Donald Trump and others defended his romantic relationship with Willis, which led to his resignation from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/fulton-county-resident-unloads-on-fani-willis-democrats-at-board-meeting-im-done\/\" title=\"Fulton County resident expresses frustration with Fani Willis and Democrats at board meeting, declares they are finished\">high-profile election interference case<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWorkplace romances are as American as apple pie,\u201d Wade told Davis. \u201cIt happens to everyone. But it happened to the two of us.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>When pressed on whether he regretted it, the former special counsel responded, \u201cI regret that that private matter became the focal point of this very important prosecution.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is a very important case,\u201d he said. \u201cI hate that my personal life has begun to overshadow the true issues in the case.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Davis pointed to a Feb. 16 piece by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/style\/power\/2024\/02\/16\/tmi-hearing-fani-willis-her-special-prosecutor\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Washington Post columnist<\/a> Monica Hesse, who wrote, \u201cWhat were they thinking? How could two seasoned attorneys, embroiled in the prosecution of a former president, start a romance and not see this trouble coming a mile away?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd so, what were you thinking in that moment?\u201d the interviewer asked Wade.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAgain, you don\u2019t plan to develop feelings,\u201d he responded. \u201cYou don\u2019t plan to fall in love. You don\u2019t plan to have some relationship in the workplace. You don\u2019t set out to do that. \u2026 Those things develop organically. They develop over time.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd the minute we had that sobering moment, we discontinued it.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">.<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ABC?\">@ABC<\/a> NEWS EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW: Former special prosecutor Nathan Wade speaks out.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI hate that my personal life has begun to overshadow the true issues in the case.\u201d<a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/9cZIiUDeqc\">https:\/\/t.co\/9cZIiUDeqc<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/ii0zFP63VT\">pic.twitter.com\/ii0zFP63VT<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Good Morning America (@GMA) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/GMA\/status\/1787453684558831889?\">May 6, 2024<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Leave aside the fact that calling a workplace affair \u2014 Wade was married at the time \u2014 \u201cas American as apple pie\u201d is like calling the anti-Israel encampments on college campuses \u201cas kosher as matzo ball soup,\u201d the details uncovered during the trial were very different from his assertions.<\/p>\n<p>This was not, as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/fani-willis-fails-show-debate-leaving-opponent-face-empty-podium\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Willis<\/a> and Wade attempted to convince the judge, a \u201cworkplace romance\u201d that occurred after the two started working together on the Trump case.<\/p>\n<p>Witness Robin Yeartie, a friend and former co-worker of Willis, testified that the affair preceded the case against the former president, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbs.org\/newshour\/politics\/witness-says-da-fani-willis-and-nathan-wade-started-a-relationship-years-earlier-than-claimed\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">PBS<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, as\u00a0reported by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/saradorn\/2024\/02\/23\/cell-records-dispute-fani-willis-and-nathan-wades-relationship-timeline-trump-team-says\/?sh=16845bd94972\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Forbes<\/a>, an affidavit filed by a private investigator hired by Trump\u2019s legal team said Wade\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/she-claimed-she-was-kidnapped-and-raped-police-say-she-lied-to-get-u-s-citizenship-and-shes-not-the-first\/\" title=\"She Claimed She Was Kidnapped And Raped. Police Say She Lied To Get U.S. Citizenship \u2013 And She\u2019s Not The First.\">phone records showed<\/a> him visiting the area near Willis\u2019 Atlanta condo at least 35 times between January and November 2021, months before he was hired to work on the Trump case.<\/p>\n<p>The affidavit, citing AT&#038;T cell tower data, further said Wade and Willis exchanged nearly 12,000 text messages and had more than 2,000 phone calls during the 11 months before his late-2021 hiring, long before the 2022 date they claimed their relationship began.<\/p>\n<p>While workplace romances, especially when either of the parties is married, are not what anyone wants to associate with America, the relationship between Willis and Wade was not even the reason for the complaint against them.<\/p>\n<div id=\"firefly-poll-container\">\n<p>Should Fani Willis&#8217; indictment of Trump be thrown out?<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>It said they had a personal motivation for the case because it financially benefited Wade and, by extension, Willis, who had hired him.<\/p>\n<p>According to the filing by the attorney for Mike Roman, one of Trump\u2019s co-defendants, Wade received legal fees ranging from $653,000 to potentially as much as $1 million for his work on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/experts-say-new-york-ags-new-lawsuit-against-trump-is-part-of-an-effort-to-boost-her-own-prospects\/\" title=\"Experts Say New York AG\u2019s New Lawsuit Against Trump Is Part of an Effort to Boost Her Own Prospects\">high-profile prosecution<\/a>, the U.K.\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/us-news\/2024\/jan\/19\/fani-willis-travel-paid-nathan-wade-trump-georgia-case\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Guardian<\/a> reported in January.<\/p>\n<p>The motion further alleged that Wade used a portion of these funds to finance trips he took with Willis to luxurious destinations such as California\u2019s Napa Valley and the Caribbean, the report said.<\/p>\n<p>Despite Willis\u2019 claims that she \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.thedailybeast.com\/fani-willis-paid-her-own-way-on-romantic-trips-nathan-wade-testifies\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">paid her own way<\/a>,\u201d neither she nor Wade was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/brutal-admission-prosecutor-entangled-anti-trump-da-fani-willis-admits-made-cash-reimbursement-vacations\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">able to produce a single receipt<\/a> or bank statement to prove it.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">NEW: DA Fani Willis says she would pay back Trump prosecutor Nathan Wade in cash for their vacations but didn\u2019t go to the ATM to get the cash.<\/p>\n<p>The comment from Willis came after Wade said Willis paid him in cash after he business expensed their vacations.<\/p>\n<p>Willis lashed out\u2026 <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/CRPqFRBvIM\">pic.twitter.com\/CRPqFRBvIM<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Collin Rugg (@CollinRugg) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/CollinRugg\/status\/1758233238731141337?\">February 15, 2024<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<blockquote>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Nathan Wade doesn\u2019t have a single deposit slip or any documentation indicating Fani Willis reimbursed him in cash.<\/p>\n<p>Is anyone buying this embarrassing testimony?? <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/GHH9yPAdrY\">pic.twitter.com\/GHH9yPAdrY<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 The Conservative Read (@theconread) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/theconread\/status\/1758217188396216458?\">February 15, 2024<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>  Rather than taking accountability for his ethical failings, Wade\u00a0is shamefully trying to pander for\u00a0empathy and relatability by portraying workplace affairs as just another casual part of American culture and workplace dynamics that \u201chappens to everyone.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It\u00a0is an insult to the countless <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/biden-vows-move-trump-tax-cuts-devastating-american-families\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">American families<\/a> who work hard to preserve their marriages and keep their commitments, even when faced with temptation or tough times.<\/p>\n<p>But even beyond that, Wade\u2019s defense skirts the real issue, which is the timing and motivation of the Trump case.<\/p>\n<p>What most Americans gleaned from the prosecution was that what Wade and Willis did was no different from what certain ambulance chasers do \u2014 concocting a high-profile case against a wealthy target in order to get paid huge <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/texas-county-taxpayers-forced-fork-2-million-cover-legal-fees-illegal-aliens\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">legal fees<\/a>, and using that money to bankroll luxurious romantic trysts and a jet-setting lifestyle.<\/p>\n<p>Only, this time, the cash cow being milked on a high-profile case was the American taxpayer.<\/p>\n<hr>\n<div>\n<p><b><i>An Important Message from Our Staff:<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p><i><span>We who work here at The Western Journal have fought for years against Big Tech and the elites who want to shut us down and then shut America down. <\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><i><span>Make no mistake \u2014 nothing will be the same after November 2024.
