evidence in the trial of former President Donald Trump over his allegedly criminal mismanagement of classified documents, Trump went on social media to demand that the case against him be dropped \u2014 and that Smith himself be prosecuted instead.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt has always been clear that the \u2018Documents Case\u2019 is nothing but an Election Interference Scam concocted by Crooked Joe Biden, Deranged Jack Smith, and their Hacks and Thugs,\u201d Trump wrote Friday evening on Truth Social. \u201cNow, Deranged Jack has admitted in a filing in front of Judge Cannon to what I have been saying happened since the Illegal RAID on my home, Mar-a-Lago, in Palm Beach, Florida \u2013 That he and his team committed blatant Evidence Tampering by mishandling the very Boxes they used as a pretext to bring this Fake Case.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese deeply Illegal actions by the Politicized \u2018Persecutors\u2019 mandate that this whole Witch Hunt be DROPPED IMMEDIATELY,\u201d he added. \u201cEND THE \u2018BOXES HOAXES.\u2019 MAGA2024!\u201d (emphasis original throughout).<\/p>\n<p>Hours later, Trump returned to his Truth Social account to demand that Smith be arrested.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cARREST DERANGED JACK SMITH,\u201d Trump wrote in the second post. \u201cHE IS A CRIMINAL!\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/official-ethics-complaint-filed-special-counsel-jack-smith-face-discipline\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Smith<\/a> revealed in a Friday <a href=\"https:\/\/justthenews.com\/sites\/default\/files\/2024-05\/gov.uscourts.flsd_.648653.522.0.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">court filing<\/a> that at some point after boxes of documents were seized from Trump\u2019s Mar-a-Lago estate, the order in which the documents were stored was changed.<\/p>\n<p>The filing concerned a claim from defendant <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/need-know-three-indictments-trump-facing\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Walt Nauta<\/a> that he needs more time to know which documents seized from Trump\u2019s Mar-a-Lago estate were in which boxes and the order of the documents in the boxes.<\/p>\n<div id=\"firefly-poll-container\">\n<p>Should Jack Smith be placed under arrest?<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The filing admitted the order of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/selective-prosecution-trump-calls-hypocrisy-biden-not-charged-classified-documents-case\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">documents<\/a> as stored currently does not match scans that were made earlier.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSince the boxes were seized and stored, appropriate personnel have had access to the boxes for several reasons, including to comply with orders issued by this Court in the civil proceedings noted above, for investigative purposes, and to facilitate the defendants\u2019 review of the boxes,\u201d the prosecution team wrote. \u201cThere are some boxes where the order of items within that box is not the same as in the associated scans.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Then Smith\u2019s team admitted \u2014 in a footnote \u2014 that it had previously mislead the court about whether the documents remained \u201cin their original, intact form as seized.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Government acknowledges that this is inconsistent with what Government counsel previously understood and represented to the Court,\u201d the filing stated.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere are several possible explanations, including the above-described instances in which the boxes were accessed, as well as the size and shape of certain items in the boxes possibly leading to movement of items,\u201d the government said. \u201cFor example, the boxes contain items smaller than standard paper such as index cards, books, and stationary, which shift easily when the boxes are carried, especially because many of the boxes are not full.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But the detail may be more significant that it seems, because <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/jack-smiths-nuclear-option-will-directly-target-judge-trump-trial\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Trump\u2019s defense<\/a> is expected include the argument that documents were packed in chronological order, with no regard for classification marking, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/justthenews.com\/politics-policy\/all-things-trump\/trump-whodunnit-prosecutors-admit-key-evidence-document-case-has\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Just the News<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cProsecutors and investigators should never tamper with or alter evidence in their possession, including the order of documents in a box, because one never knows what may become relevant or crucial to a court or jury later in a case,\u201d Harvard Law professor emeritus Alan Dershowitz told the outlet.<\/p>\n<p>Attorney Tim Parlatore, who was formerly on Trump\u2019s defense team, said \u201cthis admission is stunning on multiple levels.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The new information \u201creinforces the incompetence\u201d of the DOJ team \u201cin <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/jack-smiths-team-admits-they-tampered-with-key-evidence-in-trumps-case-misled-the-court-about-it\/\" title=\"Jack Smith's Team Confesses to Tampering with Vital Evidence in Trump's Case, Misleading the Court\">conducting basic criminal investigations<\/a> and prosecutions that I observed when I was on the team. But at a deeper level, the loss of specific document locations is a destruction of exculpatory evidence,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI went through all of the boxes at NARA and the document order was important because it was clear to us that the boxes had been untouched since leaving the White House,\u201d he added. \u201cFor prosecutors who are trying to prove that the defendants knowingly possessed these documents to then destroy the evidence that would undermine that claim is a very serious violation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Smith\u2019s team had <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/biden-cabinet-pick-made-731000-at-central-hub-of-trump-resistance\/\" title=\"Biden Cabinet pick made 1,000 over 2 years from liberal nonprofit\">previously told<\/a> the court that all of the documents were in their original order, \u201cwith one exception; and that is that the classified documents have been removed and placeholders have been put in the documents,\u201d according to Friday\u2019s filing.<\/p>\n<hr>\n<div>\n<p><b><i>A Note from Our Deputy Managing Editor:<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p><i><span>\u201cWe don\u2019t even know if an election will be held in 2024.\u201d Those 12 words have been stuck in my head since I first read them. <\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><i><span>Former Lt.
