Michigan\u2019s 15 electoral votes could prove pivotal in the close race expected between Biden and Trump.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">The two candidates know how crucial the state is. The Detroit Free Press <a href=\"https:\/\/www.freep.com\/story\/news\/politics\/elections\/2024\/05\/05\/trump-biden-2024-presidential-election-michigan\/73544990007\/\">noted<\/a> that Trump has made three visits to the state in the last 2\u00bd months while Biden visited UAW workers in February in Warren, Michigan, Saginaw in March, and is expected to speak at the Detroit NAACP\u2019s dinner on May 19.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">On Monday, the White House announced that the Department of Energy will set aside\u00a0$50 million of its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.energy.gov\/mesc\/articles\/mesc-seeks-input-state-partnerships-enable-automotive-conversion-grants-small-and\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Automotive Conversion Grants Program<\/a> \u201cto help small- and medium-sized suppliers convert from manufacturing internal combustion engine parts to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/g-7-finance-chief-warns-of-global-uncertainty\/\" title=\"G-7 finance head cautions about worldwide uncertainty.\">manufacturing parts<\/a> for the EV supply chain.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Additionally, the Department of Energy \u201cis setting aside up to\u00a0$50 million of its Industrial Assessments Center <a href=\"https:\/\/www.energywerx.org\/opportunities\/iacimplementationgrants\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Implementation Grants Program<\/a> to help auto suppliers kickstart manufacturing diversification and conversion projects.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">There\u2019s more: \u201cThe Small Business Administration will leverage its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/burgum-defends-trump-against-manhattan-criminal-trial\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Small Business Investment Company<\/a> program to catalyze\u00a0millions of dollars in private capital for the EV supply chain\u00a0to help small and medium-sized manufacturers grow and diversify their businesses. \u2026 The Small Business Administration plans to establish a\u00a0new <a href=\"https:\/\/www.federalregister.gov\/documents\/2024\/03\/26\/2024-06421\/data-collection-available-for-public-comments\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Working Capital Pilot Program<\/a> under its signature 7(a) lending program to provide lines of credit to small businesses, including auto parts manufacturers and distributors, to support their domestic or export finance needs.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Biden\u2019s policy vis-\u00e0-vis Israel and Hamas has been heavily influenced by his apparent desire to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nationalreview.com\/2024\/02\/bidens-betrayal-of-israel-is-dumb-politics-and-insane-policy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">cater to the desires<\/a> of the Muslim community in Michigan. On October 30, roughly three weeks after the October 7 massacre in which the terrorist group Hamas murdered more than 1200 Israelis, Muslim leaders wrote a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.muslimdems.org\/2023_ceasefire_ultimatum\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">letter<\/a> to Biden and the \u201cDemocratic Party leadership\u201d titled \u201c2023 Ceasefire Ultimatum,\u201d in which they vowed to withhold Muslim voter support for \u201cany candidate who did not advocate for a ceasefire.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Within days, the Biden administration reportedly warned Israel that support for its war effort would erode.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cBiden, Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin and Secretary of State Antony Blinken\u00a0\u2013\u00a0who departed Thursday for Israel with a message on protecting civilian lives \u2013 have all\u00a0explicitly\u00a0pressed the case\u00a0in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/after-muslim-leaders-threaten-to-abandon-biden-in-2024-biden-administration-warns-israel-its-support-may-erode-report\/\" title=\"Muslim leaders' potential withdrawal of support for Biden in 2024 prompts warning from Biden administration to Israel about potential erosion of support, says report.\">recent private conversations<\/a>\u00a0with the Israelis, telling them\u00a0that eroding support will\u00a0have dire strategic consequences for Israel Defense Forces operations against Hamas,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2023\/11\/02\/politics\/biden-administration-warning-israel-gaza-civilians\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CNN<\/a> reported in early November.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">On March 25, the Biden administration refused to veto a UN Security Council resolution calling for an immediate Gaza ceasefire, with no conditions for the release of hostages held by Hamas. \u00a0\u201cOn April 4, in a telephone conversation with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jpost.com\/breaking-news\/article-796428\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu<\/a>, Biden reportedly harangued Israel, all but threatening to cut off military aid to the Jewish state unless it capitulated to his demands,\u201d The Jerusalem Post <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jpost.com\/opinion\/article-796505\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>With Trump leading in Michigan polls, Biden&#8217;s administration is proposing $100 million for auto workers and suppliers.
