The assailant, identified as Bernard Polite, attempted to shoot but was overpowered by Deacon Clarence McCallister. Despite the threat, Pastor Germany forgave the attacker, who \u2063claimed he\u200c was following\u200d God&#8217;s \u200borders. Additionally, a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/rachel-morin-maryland-murder-police-scramble-for-clues-after-mother-was-killed-while-jogging\/\" title=\"Police seek clues in Maryland jogger's murder\">tragic \u200ddiscovery<\/a> was made at\u200d the assailant&#8217;s home, raising questions about a potential connection.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<header> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/news\/\">  News <\/a>   <span> <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/author\/russdavis\/\">  <\/a> <\/p>\n<p> <span>   By <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/author\/russdavis\/%20\"><span>Jack Davis<\/span><\/a> <\/span> <span>   May 6, 2024 at 7:01am <\/span> <\/span>  <\/header>\n<section>\n<p>A pastor found himself looking down the barrel of a gun Sunday when a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/man-charges-at-buffalo-grocery-store-terrorist-during-sentencing\/\" title=\"Man Charges At Buffalo Grocery Store Terrorist During Sentencing\">man rushed<\/a> the front of his church during the sermon.<\/p>\n<p>Video of the incident posted to the church\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/glenn.germany.9\/videos\/837189405094241\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Facebook<\/a> page showed Pastor Glenn Germany preaching at Jesus\u2019 Dwelling Place Church in North Braddock, Pennsylvania, when a man entered the frame of the video pointing a gun at Germany.<\/p>\n<p>What was not seen is the moment the man \u2014 identified by police as Bernard Polite of North Braddock \u2014 pulled the trigger, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/pittsburgh\/news\/pittsburgh-area-man-arrested-allegedly-trying-to-shoot-church-pastor\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">KDKA-AM<\/a> in Pittsburgh.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI thank God because only God stopped and jammed this gun,\u201d Germany said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m thankful to God that I\u2019m still here, because he definitely pulled the trigger,\u201d the pastor said, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wtae.com\/article\/braddock-church-gun-pulled-on-pastor\/60694951\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">WTAE-TV<\/a> in Pittsburgh.<\/p>\n<p>Germany ducked for cover as the gunman stepped over an altar rail and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/trans-lakewood-church-shooting-suspect-telling-message-scrawled-gun-report\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">advanced<\/a> upon the pulpit.<\/p>\n<p>At that point, Deacon Clarence McCallister leaped the rail and tackled the gunman.<\/p>\n<p>Germany then joined in to take the gun away and hold the man until police arrived.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c[T]hank GOD for Deacon Clarence Mccallister the true GOD Sent Hero,\u201d the pastor posted on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/glenn.germany.9\/videos\/837189405094241\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Facebook<\/a> along with a video of the incident.<\/p>\n<p>The gunman appears just after the 2:00 mark:<\/p>\n<p>McCallister said it seemed necessary.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s something that needs to be done and I jumped up and handled my business,\u201d he told KDKA.<\/p>\n<p>Germany said the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/trump-praises-tx-gun-laws-armed-churchgoers-ending-shooting-6-seconds\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">gunman<\/a> \u201cwas just dealing with spirits he said, and he came in and wanted to shoot somebody.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI started to begin to preach and all of a sudden, from my <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/fact-check-did-oreo-release-a-mcdonalds-cheeseburger-flavor\/\" title=\"FACT CHECK: Did Oreo Release A McDonald\u2019s Cheeseburger Flavor?\">left-hand side<\/a>, I saw him move from the back to the front of the church, and he set up in the front corner of the church and smiled at me,\u201d the pastor told WTAE.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAll of a sudden, I just saw a gun pointing right at me. And at that point, all I could try to do is run for cover,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Germany said the gunman, who faces charges of aggravated assault and attempted homicide, apologized \u2014 and the pastor forgave him.<\/p>\n<p>A criminal complaint said the 26-year-old gunman told police he sought to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/suspect-custody-deadly-attack-alabama-church-never-happen\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">shoot Germany<\/a> because \u201cGod told him to do it.\u201d<\/p>\n<div id=\"firefly-poll-container\">\n<p>Should churches increase security measures?<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Police reported that on Sunday evening, the body of Derek Polite, 56, was found in Bernard Polite\u2019s home in North Braddock.<\/p>\n<p>The time of Polite\u2019s death and the relationship between the two men was not established as of Monday morning.<\/p>\n<hr>\n<div>\n<p><b><i>An Important Message from Our Staff:<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p><i><span>In just a few months, the world is going to change forever.
