The student&#8217;s identity \u2062remains confidential. The University of California Riverside revealed on Sunday that a student \u200dwas suspended under undisclosed\u200d circumstances. The suspension came after UCR police officers searched a dorm room and found items linked to\u2063 an\u200c assault rifle.\u200b The identity of the student has not been disclosed.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<div data-td-block-uid=\"tdi_78\">\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/university-of-california\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>University of California<\/a> Riverside announced Sunday that one of its students was suspended after <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/near-death-experiences-a-look-back-at-famous-figures-whose-claims-drew-criticism\/\" title=\"\u2018Near-Death\u2019 Experiences: A Look Back At Famous Figures Whose Claims Drew Criticism\">police found<\/a> an <a href=\"http:\/\/washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/gun-control\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>assault rifle<\/a>, ammunition, and five <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/biden-gun-policies-concern-second-amendment-advocates\/\" title=\"Biden gun policies concern Second Amendment advocates\">high-capacity magazines<\/a> in a dorm room.<\/p>\n<p>UCR police officers executed a search warrant Friday after finding \u201cevidence of a weapon\u201d on campus. The school did not reveal the identity of the resident under investigation, but claimed the student has left and won\u2019t be returning until an administrative hearing.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA search of a room in the North District residential apartments revealed an assault rifle registered to a student, ammunition, five high-capacity magazines, and hand-drawn images in a journal depicting a violent act,\u201d the school said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>It is against the school\u2019s policy to possess, use, or manufacture a firearm. This student was not arrested according to UCR police records, but the case was given to the Riverside County District Attorney who could possibly file charges.<\/p>\n<p>According to the school, this was not the result of \u201cany recent campus events\u201d which is likely a reference to the ongoing pro-Palestinian protests. The subsequent encampment was shut down Friday as a <a href=\"https:\/\/documents.ucr.edu\/chancellor\/May_3_ammended-agreement.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"result of a deal\">result of a deal<\/a> that included the discontinuation of study abroad programs in Israel, Egypt, and Jordan.
