Tim Scott (R-FL) slammed NBC News host Kristen Welker this week for trying to run cover for the Democratic Party\u2019s extreme stance on abortion.<\/p>\n<p>The exchange happened during a Sunday interview on \u201cMeet The Press\u201d when Welker asked Scott about former President Donald Trump\u2019s position of leaving the issue up to the states.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWell, there\u2019s no doubt that the Dobbs decision sent it back to the states,\u201d he said. \u201cSo, the Supreme Court has ruled, the leading candidate, our Republican nominee, has made it very clear that this is a state\u2019s issue. That is the decision that will be made and we will see how the states handle it. But there\u2019s no question that President Trump has been very clear that he wants to issue left to the states, with three exceptions for rape, incest and the life of the mother.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Scott said that he stands by his view that there should be a 15-week limit on abortions and that he has \u201ccertainly not changed about my <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/jazz-shaw-michelle-obama-2024\/\" title=\"Could Michelle Obama run for president in 2024?\">position whatsoever<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe fact of the matter is that every single Democrat in the Senate and in the House have voted for abortion up until the day of birth,\u201d he noted. \u201cThe former governor of Virginia has said \u2013 he was a pediatrician \u2013 even infanticide. So, stopping late term abortions is something that 90% of Americans actually believe in \u2013\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Welker immediately interrupted and claimed: \u201cDemocrats don\u2019t support \u2013 that\u2019s false, senator. Democrats don\u2019t support infanticide.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cKristen, they\u2019ve already voted for it,\u201d Scott noted.<\/p>\n<p>Welker responded: \u201cSenator, no, no, no. Senator, but as you know, late term abortions are exceedingly rare.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey voted for abortions up until the day of birth,\u201d Scott said. \u201cI\u2019m just telling you what they voted for.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cKristen, you cannot deny the fact that the Democrats have voted \u2013 not talked about, but voted \u2013 for abortions until the day of birth. That is a fact,\u201d Scott said. \u201cYou can look that up in the records of Congress. So, I\u2019m not talking about hypotheticals. You continue to bring me hypotheticals. The truth is, and I got to say, this is kind of \u2013 kind of interesting, the truth is simple.
