Charlie Spies, the Chief Counsel of the Republican National Committee, has stepped down from his role due to conflicts with his law firm-client commitments. Despite his resignation, Spies\u200b continues his dedication to aiding President \u200cTrump and Republicans in the forthcoming November elections. The\u200d RNC spokesperson highlighted time commitment conflicts as a contributing factor to Spies&#8217;s decision to resign.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Only months after taking the job, <a href=\"https:\/\/washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/republican-national-committee\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"Republican National Committee\">Republican National Committee<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/group-led-by-longtime-trump-attorney-argues-impeachment-trial-unconstitutional\/\" title=\"Group Led by Longtime Trump Attorney Argues Impeachment Trial Unconstitutional\">chief counsel<\/a> Charlie Spies has resigned from the role.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWorking full time at the RNC wasn\u2019t the right fit with my <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/lawyers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>law firm<\/a>-client commitments, but I will remain focused on getting President Trump and Republicans at all levels elected <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/2024-elections\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>in November<\/a>,\u201d Spies said in a statement to the <em>Washington Examiner.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>RNC spokeswoman Danielle Alvarez also cited \u201cpotential time commitment conflicts\u201d as a reason for Spies\u2019s departure in a statement to NBC News published earlier on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCharlie approached RNC Chief of Staff, Chris LaCivita, about potential time commitment conflicts and it was agreed that, while we appreciate and value Charlie\u2019s expertise and professionalism, he cannot do this role full time and still maintain the obligations to his law firm that he has spent years successfully building,\u201d Alvarez told the outlet in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>However, according to the NBC News <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/politics\/2024-election\/republican-national-committee-lawyer-charlie-spies-step-tumult-rcna150745\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"report\">report<\/a>, which cites an anonymous source, alleges Spies was \u201cpushed out\u201d of the job.<\/p>\n<p>Spies was hired earlier this year while RNC leadership changed over to former President Donald Trump\u2019s preferred picks of chairman Michael Whatley and co-chair Lara Trump. He was part of a bevy of new hires made as the RNC was staffed for more Trump-aligned actions, including readying potential legal challenges in swing states.
