Just after 6pm, a landowner in Miami County reported turkeys being poached off his property in rural Miami County,\u201d Kansas Wildlife &#038; Parks \u2014 Game Wardens posted on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/kdwpgamewardens\/posts\/pfbid0iJDNeV2BCdrtEzYv28hxpVricKTSeLdvkKEjYMRG2GZpDtjMxKFCT7BRCgHVvj7Ul\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Facebook<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Deputies from the Miami County Sheriff\u2019s Office responded as well.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">K-9 helps Kansas game warden, sheriff\u2019s office bust turkey poachers: <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/471Mq5pKCs\">https:\/\/t.co\/471Mq5pKCs<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/KAKEnews?src=hash&#038;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#KAKEnews<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 KAKE News (@KAKEnews) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/KAKEnews\/status\/1782791557541695573?\">April 23, 2024<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>After finding the vehicle they wanted to stop, \u201cDeputies and Warden Falls spoke with the two individuals at the scene and worked through a language barrier.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTwo turkeys (one Tom and one Hen), three .22 rifles, and an air rifle were seized by Warden Falls. The shooter was arrested for multiple wildlife violations,\u201d the post said.<\/p>\n<p>When the humans were finished, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/k-9-handler-finds-missing-girl-dog-gets-happy-tail-near-locked-park-building\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Indy<\/a> was not.<\/p>\n<div id=\"firefly-poll-container\">\n<p>Should poachers be stripped of hunting privileges for life?<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>\u201cAfter the scene was cleared and everyone had left, Indy started into an area search for any more evidence. Shortly after that, another suspect came out of the woods with his hands up. That suspect was also arrested and taken to jail,\u201d the post said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIndy was sent back out to search and located another freshly dead hen turkey in the woods,\u201d the post said.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">After an initial arrest, K9 officer Indy sniffed out another poacher hiding in the woods: <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/l9AcYBePce\">https:\/\/t.co\/l9AcYBePce<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/iEqVNamHFl\">pic.twitter.com\/iEqVNamHFl<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Outdoor Life (@outdoorlife) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/outdoorlife\/status\/1783151941326905694?\">April 24, 2024<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\u201cEssentially, some guys were driving down the road, they saw some turkeys, the passenger shot turkeys from the vehicle with a rifle,\u201d \u00a0Falls said, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.outdoorlife.com\/conservation\/kansas-turkey-poachers-busted\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Outdoor Life<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier in April, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/department-says-police-k-9-wont-face-charges-stealing-officers-lunch\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">black Labrador retriever<\/a> and Falls investigated another out-of-season turkey hunt.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIndy located several pieces of evidence, including this .410 wad used to harvest one of the turkeys. Kansas Game Warden K-9\u2019s are trained and certified in locating evidence with burnt gun powder residue,\u201d Kansas Wildlife &#038; Parks \u2014 Game Wardens posted on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/story.php?id=100064587706759&#038;story_fbid=811975660965350&#038;paipv=0&#038;eav=AfZaTck5nsaq_8LGqiH5Q2gG-49OHbdb3irikYbuWCxor87QRM3n79BYP1F3hLldScA&#038;_rdr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Facebook<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Two <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/new-details-released-capture-illegal-immigrant-fugitive-danelo-cavalcante-k-9-sealed-deal\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">suspected poachers<\/a> were charged in that incident, according to Outdoor Life.<\/p>\n<p>According to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.indiananrf.org\/project\/indiana-k-9-resource-protection-program\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Indiana Natural Resources Foundation<\/a> since 1997, K-9 teams have participated in more than 7,500 cases involving poachers.<\/p>\n<p>The K-9 teams find game, guns, and other evidence that can be used to secure convictions.<\/p>\n<hr>\n<div>\n<p><b><i>An Important Message from Our Staff:<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p><i><span>In just a few months, the world is going to change forever.
