The focus\u200c is on\u200b high-income individuals and \u200dintricate\u2063 entities to uphold tax integrity effectively.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<header> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/news\/\">  News <\/a>   <span> <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/author\/russdavis\/\">  <\/a> <\/p>\n<p> <span>   By <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/author\/russdavis\/%20\"><span>Jack Davis<\/span><\/a> <\/span> <span>   May 4, 2024 at 4:57pm <\/span> <\/span>  <\/header>\n<section>\n<p>A new report from the Internal Revenue Service lays out a roadmap for the future and reveals that President Joe Biden\u2019s 2025 budget would bar cuts to the IRS until 2034.<\/p>\n<p>The report also noted that audits on what the IRS calls the \u201cwealthiest taxpayers, large corporations and large, complex partnerships\u201d will vastly increase when the IRS examines 2026 tax returns, according to a news release on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irs.gov\/newsroom\/irs-releases-strategic-operating-plan-update-outlining-future-priorities-transformation-momentum-accelerating-following-long-list-of-successes-for-taxpayers\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">IRS website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The Inflation Reduction Act gave the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/giddy-irs-launches-ai-enabled-sweeping-historic-tax-violator-crackdown\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">IRS<\/a> an $80 billion infusion. That was trimmed by $20 billion last spring as part of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/bidens-budget-plan-would-raise-taxes-cut-deficit-by-3-trillion-invest-in-manufacturing\/\" title=\"Biden\u2019s Budget Plan Would Raise Taxes, Cut Deficit by  Trillion, Invest in Manufacturing\">debt-ceiling negotiations<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Since 2022, the IRS has added about <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/irs-begin-mailing-compliance-letters-100000-americans-action-made-possible-bidens-inflation-reduction-act\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">11,000 jobs<\/a> and will pack in an additional <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/nearly-500-irs-agents-pocketed-mysterious-payments-private-firms-watchdog-report\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">14,000 jobs<\/a> by 2029, IRS Commissioner Danny Werfel said Thursday, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2024\/05\/02\/politics\/irs-audit-tax-rates-wealthy\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CNN<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">The IRS says audits are about to surge \u2014 here\u2019s who\u2019s most at risk <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/3LIaLG6j6S\">https:\/\/t.co\/3LIaLG6j6S<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/OBjVQrJQ2S\">pic.twitter.com\/OBjVQrJQ2S<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 New York Post (@nypost) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/nypost\/status\/1786451908216955290?\">May 3, 2024<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>According to the release, IRS will \u201cnearly triple audit rates on large corporations with assets over $250 million to 22.6% in tax year 2026, up from 8.8% in tax year 2019.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The agency said it plans to have a 10-fold increase in audits of large, complex partnerships with assets greater than $10 million.<\/p>\n<div id=\"firefly-poll-container\">\n<p>Do you agree with the IRS increasing audits of wealthy Americans?<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Audit rates on taxpayers with income of more than $10 million will go from 11 percent in 2019 to 16.5 percent in 2026, an increase of 50 percent.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Not to mention the IRS is going to start massive audits on people making more than $400,000. People making $40,000 are gonna get nailed. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/uuHlqA7GZp\">https:\/\/t.co\/uuHlqA7GZp<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 its me (@OldBaileyFan) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/OldBaileyFan\/status\/1786830380496199890?\">May 4, 2024<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The release claimed that \u201cthe agency will not increase audit rates for small businesses and taxpayers making under $400,000, and those rates remain at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/in-2021-americas-population-grew-at-slowest-rate-since-founding-of-the-nation\/\" title=\"In 2021, America\u2019s Population Grew At Slowest Rate Since Founding Of The Nation\">historically low levels<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irs.gov\/pub\/irs-pdf\/p3744a.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">strategic plan<\/a>, the IRS said even with its additional cash, it will not be exceed the 2010 tax year coverage rates, for two reasons.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFirst \u2026 the number of filings by large corporations, complex partnerships, and high-income individuals have grown rapidly since TY 2010 and are expected to continue to grow,\u201d the agency said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSecond, even within these groups, the IRS is focusing its attention on the largest corporations, the most complex partnerships, and individuals with complex international wealth holdings. These types of returns have become more complex over time and are the most time and resource-intensive audits. They\u2019re worked by teams of accountants, economists, data scientists, and others and often take many hundreds of hours to complete.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In the plan, the IRS said it needs to keep its budgets high, or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/the-virginia-model\/\" title=\"The Virginia Model\">middle-income taxpayers<\/a> will suffer.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWithout additional funds, the IRS will be forced to reduce its Enforcement staff by more than 50% in FY 2030, severely hampering our ability to perform complex audits,\u201d the plan said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSince lower-income taxpayers are more likely to have <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/mistakes-to-avoid-this-tax-season\/\" title=\"Mistakes to Avoid This Tax Season\">simple tax returns<\/a>, this lack of funding will likely translate into a higher share of audits falling on low- and middle-income taxpayers, while examination coverage rates for high-income and large corporate taxpayers will severely decline,\u201d the plan said.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Remember how all those new IRS agents were there to \u201conly target rich people\u201d (aka people making more than $400k) Well 63% of new audits were for people making less than $200k. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/RC9dnQXUmN\">pic.twitter.com\/RC9dnQXUmN<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Bruce \u2588\u2588\u2588\u2588 \ud83c\uddfa\ud83c\uddf2\ud83c\udde8\ud83c\udde6 (@BBIC0N) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BBIC0N\/status\/1784763370844913738?\">April 29, 2024<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>In the release, the IRS said that to account for what it called \u201cfunding cliffs,\u201d Biden\u2019s budget is a funding bonanza.<\/p>\n<p>Biden\u2019s fiscal 2025 budget has a mandatory funding plan for the IRS that could keep it at its current level through 2034, at a cost to taxpayers of $104 billion.<\/p>\n<hr>\n<div>\n<p><b><i>An Important Message from Our Staff:<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p><i><span>We who work here at The Western Journal have fought for years against Big Tech and the elites who want to shut us down and then shut America down. <\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><i><span>Make no mistake \u2014 nothing will be the same after November 2024.
