Joe to Marvel and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/shocking-report-reveals-disneys-star-wars-box-office-failed-cover-cost-franchise\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Star Wars<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>It also owns a number of classic board game properties, such as Monopoly, as well as other childhood staples like Nerf and Play-Doh.<\/p>\n<p>Point being: The company is a big deal in that very <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/the-oscars-2022-will-have-a-host-but-who-maybe-pete-davidson\/\" title=\"The Oscars 2022 Will Have A Host, But Who? Maybe Pete Davidson\">traditional space<\/a>, but now it appears dead set on expanding into the more modern toy space of video games, as well.<\/p>\n<p>Dan Ayoub, head of digital product development at Hasbro\u2019s Wizards of the Coast brand (primarily known for publishing \u201cDungeons &#038; Dragons\u201d content), spoke to gameindustry.biz in a piece that came out Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe biggest thing to takeaway, which is honestly a little surprise to a lot of people, is that Hasbro is in fact making video games,\u201d Ayoub told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gamesindustry.biz\/hasbros-1-billion-bet-on-internal-game-development\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the outlet<\/a>. \u201cAnd we have a considerable investment in our studio structure; we\u2019ve got over $1 billion in games right now being developed.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to gameindustry.biz, Hasbro already has four AAA studios, including one that\u2019s actively working on an anticipated G.I. Joe video game.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHasbro\u2019s a 100-year-old company and it\u2019s built on play,\u201d Ayoub said. Hasbro was founded in 1923.<\/p>\n<p>Ayoub added: \u201cIt\u2019s always been about play, it\u2019s always been about entertaining people. And gaming is the predominant form of entertainment for a lot of people, and it\u2019s something that just continues to grow.<\/p>\n<div id=\"firefly-poll-container\">\n<p>Do you enjoy Hasbro offerings?<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>\u201cSo in a lot of ways, it makes sense for Hasbro to be in this space.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Ayoud went on to claim that the company had massive ambition in the space.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cVideo games is an integral part of Hasbro\u2019s strategy going into the next 100 years and we have to make sure that everything that comes out is top quality, is authentic, and is something we can build upon, because we\u2019re talking about a couple studios and a couple games right now, but we have much larger ambitions for that,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>While Ayoub may characterize this as an organic step in a grander plan, Hasbro\u2019s appetite was also likely whetted when it saw the massive success of two video games it was involved with.<\/p>\n<p>Massive 2023 smash hit \u201cBaldur\u2019s Gate 3\u201d was produced by Larian Studios, but the actual \u201cBaldur\u2019s Gate\u201d property belongs to Wizards of the Coast.<\/p>\n<p>Simultaneously, a modern update and homage to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/sign-of-the-times-classic-toy-company-boasts-about-1-billion-investment-in-new-field\/\" title=\"Sign of the Times: Toy Company Invests  Billion in Exciting New Venture\">classic computer role-playing games<\/a>, \u201cBaldur\u2019s Gate 3\u201d was a runaway success in just about every metric imaginable.<\/p>\n<p>The lengthy RPG is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and computer.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, \u201cMonopoly Go!\u201d boasts wild popularity and an even <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/mobile-monopoly-game-insanely-popular-marketing-budget-even-crazier\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">wilder budget<\/a>.
