Trump brought pizzas to Engine Co. 8, Ladder Co. 2 in Midtown, \u200binteracting with firefighters and receiving cheers. The \u2064visit included handshakes, \u200cphotos, and\u2064 positive exchanges with\u2064 station \u2064officials. People can be heard cheering in the background. The Trump campaign had dropped off 10 additional pizzas for the firefighters before Trump\u2019s arrival.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou gotta win!\u201d one firefighter told Trump as he arrived.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSir, save us please,\u201d another told him.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI love you all \u2013 special people,\u201d Trump <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2024\/05\/02\/us-news\/trump-bearing-pizzas-met-with-cheers-at-manhattan-fdny-firehouse\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">wrote<\/a> in the station\u2019s daybook.<\/p>\n<p>Last month, Trump also <a href=\"https:\/\/ny1.com\/nyc\/all-boroughs\/news\/2024\/04\/16\/trump-bodega-new-york-court\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">visited<\/a> a Manhattan bodega in West Harlem where a clerk was charged with murder after fatally stabbing an attacker in 2022.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey want law and order \u2026 every week they\u2019re being robbed,\u201d Trump <a href=\"https:\/\/ny1.com\/nyc\/all-boroughs\/news\/2024\/04\/16\/trump-bodega-new-york-court\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">said<\/a> of New York City businesses. \u201cYou know where the crime is? Prosecutors claim the former president illegally paid Daniels to keep her quiet about an alleged affair.<\/p>\n<p>Trump has denied the allegations and pled not guilty.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the judge in the case has slapped Trump with a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/trump-responds-to-gag-order-fine-says-judge-is-rigging-2024-election\">gag order<\/a> prohibiting him from commenting on potential witnesses, jurors, court staff, and attorneys. Earlier this week, the judge fined Trump $9,000 for violating the gag order several times and threatened him with jail time.<\/p>\n<p>Trump is back in court on Friday for day 11 of the trial.<\/p>\n<p>Trump has said he plans to \u201cmake a heavy play for New York\u201d despite the state\u2019s heavy Democratic leaning \u2014 New York has not voted for a Republican presidential candidate since 1984 when Ronald Reagan was re-elected in a landslide.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think we have a chance. New York has changed a lot in the last two years,\u201d Trump <a href=\"https:\/\/ny1.com\/nyc\/all-boroughs\/news\/2024\/04\/16\/trump-bodega-new-york-court\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">said<\/a> on Fox News. \u201cThe people of New York are angry.
