The surge in his fortune came from earning additional shares in\u200d Trump Media &#038; Technology Group as part \u2063of an earnout clause, following the company&#8217;s merger \u2064success. Trump&#8217;s net worth now stands at approximately $8.18\u200b million. Former President\u2064 Donald \u200bTrump experienced a\u2063 substantial wealth \u200dgrowth of nearly $2 billion, detailed \u2064in \u200ca recent SEC filing. Upper III<\/span><\/a> <\/span> <span>   May 3, 2024 at 7:38am <\/span> <\/span>  <\/header>\n<section>\n<p>Former President Donald Trump has added almost $2 billion to his total fortune, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/analysis-the-many-foibles-of-rep-eric-swalwell\/\" title=\"ANALYSIS: The Many Foibles Of Rep. Eric Swalwell\">recent filing<\/a> with the Securities and Exchange Commission.<\/p>\n<p>That <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sec.gov\/Archives\/edgar\/data\/1849635\/000114036124023398\/ef20027965_sc13da.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">filing<\/a> \u2014 a Schedule 13D form filed by Trump himself \u2014 said that the former president and presumptive Republican presidential nominee was eligible to receive an additional 36 million shares of common stock in Trump Media &#038; Technology Group, the company that owns the Truth Social social media platform.<\/p>\n<p>Trump received the additional stock as a result of meeting the criteria of three separate \u201cearnout\u201d provisions in the original merger agreement between Trump\u2019s company and Digital World Acquisition Corp. when the companies merged in March.<\/p>\n<p>Those provisions said that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/judge-threatens-trump-jail-time-hits-massive-fine-hush-money-trial\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Trump<\/a> would receive 13.5 million additional shares of common stock if the stock price stayed at or above $12.50 per share. He\u2019d earn another 13.5 million shares if it stayed at or above $15 per share, and an additional 9 million if it remained at $17.50 per share or better.<\/p>\n<p>However, in order to qualify for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/shareholders-vote-to-bring-pro-free-speech-youtube-competitor-rumble-public-through-spac-merger\/\" title=\"Shareholders Vote to Bring Pro-Free Speech YouTube Competitor Rumble Public Through SPAC Merger\">earnout shares<\/a>, the stock had to remain at or above those prices for a minimum of 20 trading days during any period of 30 trading days after the merger.<\/p>\n<p>Trump earned the additional shares in the minimum possible amount of time.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTuesday, April 23 marked the 20th trading day for Trump Media, and the stock has not traded below that $17.50 level at any point during that timeframe,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2024\/04\/30\/business\/donald-trump-gets-another-usd1-billion-truth-social-windfall\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CNN<\/a> reported Friday.<\/p>\n<p>The stock price has been <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/trump-media-company-stock-price-skyrockets-first-day-public-trading\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">somewhat volatile<\/a>, but never went lower than $22.84, a number it hit on April 16. Since then, it has more than doubled, and was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/search?q=djt+stock+price&#038;rlz=1CAOFPC_enUS946&#038;oq=DJT+stock+price\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">sitting around $47<\/a> Friday morning.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEven though Trump Media plunged since late March, it never came close to breaching levels that would have threatened this bonus,\u201d CNN noted.<\/p>\n<div id=\"firefly-poll-container\">\n<p>Will Trump defeat Biden in the November elections?<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>At a $47 price per share, Trump\u2019s new holdings were worth nearly $1.7 billion to his net worth.<\/p>\n<p>Of course, that\u2019s not the same thing as having an additional $1.7 billion in cash to draw on.<\/p>\n<p>For one thing, the shares are subject to a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sec.gov\/Archives\/edgar\/data\/947033\/000114036124017051\/ef20025668_ex99-2.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">lock-up agreement<\/a> that prevents Trump \u2014 and other insiders \u2014 from selling the stock for six months after the March of the merger.<\/p>\n<p>Moreover, if Trump were to attempt to sell a significant portion of his stock in the company, that would likely drive the stock price lower, making it harder for him to realize the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wh-tech-critic-tim-wu-holds-1m-plus-in-bitcoin\/\" title=\"WH Tech Critic Tim Wu Holds M-Plus in Bitcoin\">current price<\/a> for all of his shares.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/billionaires\/profiles\/donald-j-trump\/?sref=sBMxP0gT\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Bloomberg Billionaires Index<\/a> lists Trump in 314th place with a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/trump-soars-billionaire-wealth-list-highest-ranking-ever-incredibly-honored\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">total fortune<\/a> of $8.18 million.<\/p>\n<p>Most of that amount, roughly $5.7 billion according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/donald-trump-djt-stock-earnout-bonus-truth-social\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CBS News<\/a>, is tied up in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/trump-media-company-hits-20-media-outlets-1-5-billion-lawsuit\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Trump Media<\/a>, which trades under the ticker symbol DJT, the former president\u2019s initials.<\/p>\n<p>Trump now owns nearly 65 percent of the company, after the earnout share bonus, CBS reported, with a total of 114.75 million shares.<\/p>\n<p>Trump is not only the largest shareholder of the company, according to CNN, but also the company\u2019s chairman \u2014 and Truth Social\u2019s most popular user.<\/p>\n<hr>\n<div>\n<p><b><i>An Important Message from Our Staff:<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p><i><span>We who work here at The Western Journal have fought for years against Big Tech and the elites who want to shut us down and then shut America down. <\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><i><span>Make no mistake \u2014 nothing will be the same after November 2024.
