As she walked into the room, she notably referred to Trump as \u201cMr. Trump\u201d and said she is paying for her own lawyers.<\/p>\n<p>Hicks met with Manhattan prosecutors who brought the case against Trump for several hours last year. Because she was involved in so many meetings surrounding the former president, her testimony could bring added depth to the ongoing trial. Hicks acknowledged her role and that she was frequently involved in meetings and traveling in and out of Trump\u2019s office. <\/p>\n<p>Although Hicks hasn\u2019t been scrutinized for perjury like the prosecution\u2019s star witness, former Trump attorney Michael Cohen, her credibility may well come under scrutiny by Trump\u2019s attorneys due to her inconsistent statements to Congress in June 2019.<\/p>\n<p>She testified to Congress in June 2019 that she wasn\u2019t present when Trump and Cohen discussed a $130,000 payment to Stormy Daniels at an August 2015 Trump Tower meeting. However, a federal court <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsweek.com\/hope-hicks-appears-lied-congress-about-hush-money-payments-1450066\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">unsealed search warrant records<\/a> in July 2019 that were part of the Southern District of New York\u2019s investigation into <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/trump-trial-hope-hicks-contradictions-may-hurt-new-york-case\/\" title=\"Hope Hicks' conflicting statements could harm the New York trial involving Trump\">campaign finance violations tied<\/a> to Trump and his attorney.
