Merchan fined Trump <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/judge-threatens-trump-jail-time-hits-massive-fine-hush-money-trial\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">$9,000<\/a> earlier this week for violations of the order and mused about whether jail would need to be the answer to stop the violations.<\/p>\n<p>On Thursday, a hearing took place concerning four other comments for which the prosecution wants Trump punished, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/trump-gag-order-new-york-trial-contempt\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CBS<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Two of the comments concerned Michael Cohen, who was Trump\u2019s lawyer at the time of the 2016 payments to porn star Stormy Daniels and will be a witness. One comment concerned former National Enquirer publisher David Pecker, who testified last week. The fourth comment prosecutors cited was a remark about the jurors.<\/p>\n<p>Prosecutor Christopher Conroy said <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/trump-fbi-focus-radical-left-morons-right-not-problem\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Trump<\/a> violated the order in commenting that Pecker was \u201cvery nice.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe defendant knows what he\u2019s doing. He talks about the witness, says nice things, does it in front of cameras,\u201d Conroy said. \u201cThe [question] he answered was about the witness who was testifying. It was deliberate and it was calculated.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Attorney Todd Blanche, who was representing Trump, said the remark was a \u201cvery fair and neutral answer\u201d to a question.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen you have President Trump saying something completely neutral about the witness, that\u2019s not a violation,\u201d Blanche said. Merchan said he was \u201cnot terribly concerned\u201d about the comment.<\/p>\n<p>Blanche said Cohen has been \u201cinviting and almost daring President Trump to respond to everything he has been saying\u201d through \u201cpersonal attacks, mocking him for being on trial and comments about his candidacy.<\/p>\n<div id=\"firefly-poll-container\">\n<p>Will Trump beat Alvin Bragg\u2019s prosecution?<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>\u201cThis is not a man that needs protection from the gag order,\u201d Blanche said.<\/p>\n<p>Blanche also responded to a comment from Trump that the jury was \u201c95% Democrats.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The dig \u201cabsolutely, positively\u201d did not violate the order because no single juror was cited, Blanche argued.<\/p>\n<p>Merchan did not issue an order on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>As he left court, Trump vented his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/biden-trends-trump-steps-president-wont\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">frustration<\/a> with the trial.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re seeing all of the crime that\u2019s going on outside, and to be sitting in this courtroom is just ridiculous. It is election interference at the highest level that\u2019s never been done before in our country. And I shouldn\u2019t be campaigning right now,\u201d Trump said, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/live-news\/may-2-new-york-trump-trial-gag-order\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Fox News<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe has me under an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/georgia-state-senator-reported-results-must-be-viewed-as-untrustworthy\/\" title=\"Georgia State Senator: \u201cReported Results Must Be Viewed As Untrustworthy\u201d\">unconstitutional gag order<\/a>. Nobody\u2019s ever had that before. And we don\u2019t like it, and it\u2019s not fair. Other people are allowed to do whatever they want to us, and I\u2019m not allowed as \u2026 the Republican Party nominee, and the one who\u2019s leading Biden by a lot, I\u2019m not allowed to talk,\u201d Trump said,<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s never been an abuse like this before, this conflicted judge should get out of this case, he should not be having this case. He gives us nothing. It\u2019s such a rigged court. So I\u2019m not allowed to testify. Because of an unconstitutional gag order. We\u2019re appealing the gag order,\u201d Trump said, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/politics\/donald-trump\/live-blog\/trump-trial-hush-money-case-live-updates-rcna149907\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NBC<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, Trump shared his anger on <a href=\"https:\/\/truthsocial.com\/@realDonaldTrump\/posts\/112371147564851340\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Truth Social<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>WE CANNOT LET THIS RADICAL LEFT, CORRUPT AND HIGHLY CONFLICTED NEW YORK DEMOCRAT JUDGE INTERFERE WITH THE PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION OF 2024 \u2014 THE MOST IMPORTANT ELECTION IN THE HISTORY OF OUR COUNTRY.
