The lawsuit aims to defend \u200bhis reputation tarnished by false implications in the documentary.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<header> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/entertainment\/\">  Entertainment <\/a>  <\/p>\n<h2>Disgraced Nickelodeon Showrunner Is Suing After Documentary Made Horrific Allegations<\/h2>\n<p> <span> <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/author\/bchai\/\">  <\/a> <\/p>\n<p> <span>   By <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/author\/bchai\/%20\"><span>Bryan Chai<\/span><\/a> <\/span> <span>   May 2, 2024 at 1:10pm <\/span> <\/span>  <\/header>\n<section>\n<p>Few things were as damaging to cherished childhood memories as Investigation Discovery\u2019s docuseries \u201cQuiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The scathing documentary, which came out in March, took a look at a number of allegedly salacious work environments, including children\u2019s media conglomerate <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/nickelodeon-adds-woke-twist-reboot-popular-kids-show-fairly-oddparents\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Nickelodeon<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Specifically, \u201cQuiet on Set\u201d gave a particularly unfavorable look at former Nickelodeon showrunner Dan Schneider, who helmed a number of the network\u2019s most successful pre-teen shows, like \u201cZoey 101,\u201d \u201ciCarly,\u201d \u201cDrake &#038; Josh\u201d and others.<\/p>\n<p>The work sets overseen by Schneider were allegedly rife with all manner of sexual misconduct.<\/p>\n<p>Perhaps the most alarming of the allegations came from the set of \u201cDrake &#038; Josh,\u201d where it was revealed that eponymous actor Drake Bell was subject to sexual abuse at the hands of former dialogue coach Brian Peck.<\/p>\n<p>(Peck pleaded no contest to charges related to the sexual abuse of a child in 2004, per <a href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/tonifitzgerald\/2024\/03\/19\/7-revelations-from-quiet-on-set-the-dark-side-of-kids-tv\/?sh=5584caf69d3c\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Forbes<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>Despite not being directly involved with what happened to Bell, the series as a whole was a stain on Schneider\u2019s reputation, period. The court of public opinion had made their collective decision on the 58-year-old.<\/p>\n<p>Now, the embattled ex-showrunner is looking to push back a bit \u2014 but in a court more concerned with legal proceedings than public opinion.<\/p>\n<p>In a lawsuit obtained by <a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2024\/tv\/news\/dan-schneider-sues-quiet-on-set-producers-defamation-1235988962\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Variety<\/a>, Schneider has filed a defamation lawsuit against the producers of the show.<\/p>\n<div id=\"firefly-poll-container\">\n<p>Did you ever watch Nickelodeon growing up?<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The lawsuit reads, in part: \u201c\u2018Quiet on Set\u2019s\u2019 portrayal of Schneider is a hit job.
