Smith didn\u2019t transfer and then said Prime never gave him a chance during the spring.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">It\u2019s time we get something straight. I haven\u2019t heard anyone else discuss this, but it needs to be said: <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">College football isn\u2019t a daycare<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/nick-saban-on-college-footballs-monumental-changes-coaches-have-lost-leverage\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">College football<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">  is a very competitive and lucrative business. If a coach gives you a heads up that your best next action step is to transfer and you don\u2019t, that\u2019s on you. You don\u2019t have a right to reps. Reps are <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">earned<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_731559\" style=\"width: 419px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\">\n<p id=\"caption-attachment-731559\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Screenshot. In fact, players are getting even more than they asked for, and they (and young people in general) need to learn there are two sides to being in the business.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">You don\u2019t always get your way, Marie Antoinette. You can\u2019t have your cake and eat it too. Life isn\u2019t fair. You can\u2019t cry about wanting in the business, then cry because you don\u2019t like the negative side of it. You can get paid to play now, even on top of a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/ohio-governor-rejects-legislation-that-would-ban-vaccination-mandates-in-state\/\" title=\"Ohio governor rejects legislation that would ban vaccination mandates in state\">full ride scholarship<\/a>. Not only that, if you are getting paid, you\u2019re getting paid as an 18-year-old, so you\u2019re open to criticism. If you don\u2019t perform well, that\u2019s the way the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/prageru-understanding-ayn-rand\/\" title=\"PragerU: Understanding Ayn Rand\">world works<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">If the high schooler who runs the cash register at the Chick-fil-A gets told they aren\u2019t doing a good job, then the 18-year-old wide receiver who\u2019s getting paid should be open to the exact same criticism. That\u2019s life.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">And to be honest, it\u2019s a pretty damn good life lesson for some of these young people. If your boss says you\u2019re not going to get any hours due to poor performance, you should probably go find another job. Child actors get their performances graded \u2014 and graded pretty harshly. I don\u2019t see them moaning or complaining as much as some of these players today.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">We have to stop treating people who are entering adulthood and getting financially rewarded like little babies. It\u2019s not good for them <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">or<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">  society.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Now, some would make the argument that not every player is getting paid, to which I would counter and say, that is the cost of your peers wanting in the business. Nobody is forcing you to play. If you don\u2019t like it, then leave.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">That doesn\u2019t mean anyone needs to be a jerk or criticize just for the fun of it. But acting like these 18-year-old and older players are beyond critique <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">while <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">getting paid is a practice in futility. It\u2019s one of the reasons so many young adults have a warped view of the world; they never get told no, and they never get told they didn\u2019t do a good job.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Most coaches are going to defend their players at all costs \u2014 because they have to. They are with them every day, and that\u2019s smart. But the best thing you can do for a young person is to tell them the truth. Do I always approve of the way Deion Sanders goes about it? Sometimes I don\u2019t, but he isn\u2019t wrong. Maybe if more people took those same steps, we wouldn\u2019t have the situations we see today all over college campuses.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">So, you wanted in the business, and now, you\u2019re in it. If you can\u2019t handle <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/coach-prime-catches-heat-again-over-the-transfer-portal\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">the heat<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, then get out of the kitchen. As one of my favorite coaches used to say, \u201cGo ahead and quit.
