The bipartisan move reflected concerns during an\u2062 election year. Thirteen \u200cDemocrats and 210 Republicans \u200bvoted in favor, with 191 Democrats abstaining. Border security and immigration are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/fact-check-stuart-stevens-says-washington-insiders-threatened-by-lincoln-project\/\" title=\"FACT CHECK: Stuart Stevens Says \u2018Washington Insiders Threatened\u2019 by Lincoln Project\">critical concerns<\/a> for Americans amid a growing backlog of migrants and asylum\u2063 seekers.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<p>A group of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/house-democrats\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">House Democrats<\/a> helped pass a new resolution on Wednesday condemning President <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/joe-biden\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Joe Biden<\/a>\u2018s immigration policies, making for the latest display of bipartisan disapproval of a key issue during a presidential election year.<\/p>\n<p>The final <a href=\"https:\/\/clerk.house.gov\/Votes\/2024176\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">tally<\/a> showed 13 Democrats and 210 Republicans voted in favor of the measure, while 191 Democrats and no Republicans opposed it. Eight Democrats and seven Republicans did not vote. It follows similar votes in which some Democrats have <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/14-house-democrats-vote-to-denounce-biden-admins-open-borders-policies\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">broken ranks<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/14-house-democrats-vote-with-gop-to-demand-biden-control-the-border\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">to approve<\/a> a resolution denouncing the Biden administration\u2019s handling of the border crisis.<\/p>\n<p>This time around, the Democrats who joined Republicans were Reps. Nikki Budzinski (D-IL), Don Davis (D-NC), Yadira Caraveo (D-CO), Angie Craig (D-MN), Henry Cuellar (D-TX), Sharice Davids (D-KS), Jared Golden (D-ME), Josh Harder (D-CA), Steven Horsford (D-NV), Susie Lee (D-NV), Mary Peltola (D-AK), Marie Gluesenkamp Perez (D-WA), and Eric Sorensen (D-IL).<\/p>\n<p>The resolution begins with a line that says Biden and Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas \u201ccreated the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/bidens-first-100-days-promote-big-government\/\" title=\"Biden\u2019s first 100 days promote Big Government\">worst border crisis<\/a> in the Nation\u2019s history.\u201d What follows are dozens of critiques of the administration\u2019s record, including the \u201cmass release of millions of illegal aliens into United States communities\u201d and language that highlights the murder of Georgia nursing student <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/laken-riley\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Laken Riley<\/a> allegedly by a\u00a0Venezuelan illegal immigrant.<\/p>\n<p>At the bottom of the measure are provisions affirming that the Biden administration \u201chas taken executive actions that created the current border crisis.\u201d Sections also urge the Biden administration to \u201crescind its open-borders policies\u201d and \u201cimplement policies that end his administration\u2019s border crisis.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe American people have had ENOUGH of President Biden\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/report-bidens-homeland-security-chief-is-on-vacation-while-illegal-immigrant-invasion-continues-unabated\/\" title=\"Report: Biden\u2019s Homeland Security Chief Is On Vacation While Illegal Immigrant Invasion Continues Unabated\">open border nightmare<\/a>,\u201d Rep. Tony Gonzalez (R-TX), who introduced the resolution, <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RepTonyGonzales\/status\/1785782943035642118\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">said<\/a> in a post to X. \u201cToday, the House PASSED my legislation to hold the Biden Administration accountable for their FAILURE to protect our homeland and secure our borders.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/news.gallup.com\/poll\/611135\/immigration-surges-top-important-problem-list.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Border security<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/news.gallup.com\/poll\/611135\/immigration-surges-top-important-problem-list.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">immigration<\/a> have become top issues for Americans at a time when the backlog of asylum seekers and migrants living in the U.S. has been projected to reach <a href=\"https:\/\/www.axios.com\/2024\/03\/02\/data-biden-border-crisis-immigration-8-million-detention\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">more than 8 million<\/a> by October. The GOP-led House voted to impeach Mayorkas over his handling of the border crisis, but the Democrat-controlled Senate <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/senate-kills-mayorkas-impeachment-articles-without-full-trial\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">dismissed<\/a> the charges last month.<\/p>\n<p><b><a href=\"https:\/\/onelink.to\/dwapp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" aria-describedby=\"sk-tooltip-9096\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/onelink.to\/dwapp&#038;source=gmail&#038;ust=1714673789152000&#038;usg=AOvVaw0y1UTwuifPf73KnKdAvs6N\">CLICK HERE TO GET THE DAILYWIRE+ APP<\/a><\/b><\/p>\n<p>With the November election approaching, several of the Democrats who voted for the latest immigration resolution are considered to be in competitive races. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cookpolitical.com\/ratings\/house-race-ratings\">The Cook Political Report<\/a> rates the races involving Davis, Golden, and Perez as \u201cToss Up\u201d contests,\u00a0while some of the others are in the \u201cLean Democrat\u201d or \u201cLikely Democrat\u201d categories.<\/p>\n<p>Perez, Golden, Peltola, and Davis recently <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/house-dem-centrists-push-for-border-security-after-biden-signs-foreign-aid-bill\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">joined <\/a>Vicente Gonzalez (D-TX) in a statement calling on Biden and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/congress\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Congress<\/a> to take steps toward securing the U.S.-Mexico border after the president <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/biden-signs-foreign-aid-tiktok-bills-into-law\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">signed a $95 billion foreign aid package<\/a> into law.<\/p>\n<p>The group <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/house-dem-centrists-push-for-border-security-after-biden-signs-foreign-aid-bill\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">called on<\/a> Biden \u201cto use the authority given the executive by Congress to immediately reimplement\u201d a section of U.S. Code geared toward returning migrants to Mexico pending court proceedings.
