The 41% naming the issue this year is up slightly from 35% a year ago and 32% in 2022. Before 2022, the highest percentage mentioning inflation was 18% in 2008,\u201d Gallup said.<\/p>\n<p>Biden, his White House team, and Democratic surrogates have been trying to convince the nation that the economy is sound and healthy. They cite stock prices, low unemployment, and higher wages.<\/p>\n<p>But the poll suggests that the public has a different view. Prices are high and staying high, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/white-house-releases-list-of-president-trumps-accomplishments-and-it-is-historic\/\" title=\"White House Releases List of President Trump\u2019s Accomplishments \u2013  And It Is Historic!\">retirement plans<\/a> are on hold, houses and cars are too expensive, and gas prices are creeping back to $4 a gallon.<\/p>\n<p>Add to that the flip-flopping by the Federal Reserve on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/biden-sees-double-digit-drop-in-approval-among-black-voters-even-worse-among-young-black-voters-survey\/\" title=\"Biden Sees Double-Digit Drop In Approval Among Black Voters, Even Worse Among Young Black Voters: Survey\">cutting interest rates<\/a> and the earlier <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/markets\/us\/us-inflation-will-be-much-lower-by-end-2023-yellen-2022-12-12\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>blundering statements<\/a> from Biden\u2019s treasury secretary that inflation would be a short-term concern, and people are getting distrustful of government efforts and proclamations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe U.S. inflation rate has declined significantly since its peak in 2022, but that has done little to alter Americans\u2019 perceptions of their finances.
