Debbie Lesko (R-AZ) filed the Fixing Administrations Unethical Corrupt Influence Act, or the FAUCI Act, on Wednesday, seeking to block former <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/reps-stefanik-and-wittman-slam-joe-biden-for-being-soft-on-china\/\" title=\"Reps. Stefanik and Wittman slam Joe Biden for being soft on China\">health agency officials<\/a> from getting involved in the development or research of any drugs, biological products, or devices, according to a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scribd.com\/document\/728460040\/Fauci-Act\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>copy of the legislation<\/a> first obtained by the <em>Washington Examiner. <\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/policy\/healthcare\/2711272\/gop-to-press-fauci-on-handling-of-scientific-debate-in-first-post-retirement-testimony\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>The legislation<\/a> would apply to ex-employees from three health organizations, including the Department of Health and Human Services, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and the National Institutes of Health. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs we saw through the COVID-19 pandemic, there is a lot of distrust of the government officials and bureaucrats who appear to profit from their work on the taxpayers\u2019 dime after leaving their jobs,\u201d Lesko said in a statement. \u201cMy bill seeks to rebuild trust and transparency of this vital component of our nation, holding public servants to higher standards when they leave government. I am thankful for my colleagues who have joined me in support of this legislation, and I hope it receives swift consideration in Congress.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>If passed, the FAUCI Act would block former health officials from profiting off any product the employee was involved with its production, including the approval of any grants. The bill would also ban top health officials from owning or profiting from drug patents or other medical products. <\/p>\n<p>The bill comes as Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH) introduces the same piece of legislation in the Senate. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cPublic health officials cannot be allowed to abuse their roles to enrich themselves and pharmaceutical companies,\u201d Vance said. \u201cThis legislation will shut the revolving door between Big Pharma and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/top-law-firm-collects-photographs-of-potential-applicants-raising-discrimination-concerns\/\" title=\"Law firm's photo collection of applicants sparks discrimination concerns\">federal agencies tasked<\/a> with protecting the American people.
