And \u201clawfare.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cInsurrection\u201d is a favorite word thrown around by Democrats, journalists, squishy Republicans and legacy media consumers when discussing the events of Jan. 6, 2021.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe saw it all,\u201d they will tell you \u2014 an insurrection, with MAGA rioters carrying Trump, American and Gadsden flags climbing the walls of the Capitol, pushing aside police, threatening Congress, committing unspeakable terror on the scale of the World Trade Center and Pentagon attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, or even the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941.<\/p>\n<p>Or as <a href=\"https:\/\/time.com\/6972021\/donald-trump-2024-election-interview\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Time Magazine<\/a> this week said: \u201c\u2026 a pro-Trump mob attacked the center of American democracy in an effort to subvert the peaceful transfer of power \u2026\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But unlike 9\/11 and Pearl Harbor, where some 3,000 died in each incident, only one person was killed on Jan. 6 \u2014 unarmed Air Force veteran <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/secret-police-docs-reveal-no-good-reason-shoot-ashli-babbitt-judicial-watch-report\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ashli Babbitt<\/a>, shot by a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/federal-govt-sued-30m-wrongful-death-jan-6-protester-ashli-babbitt\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Capitol Police officer<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>After the event, some were arrested and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/chair-january-6-committee-exercising-constitutional-rights-hints-suspects-guilty\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">imprisoned without trial<\/a> in a dank Washington prison.<\/p>\n<p>Some 800 people were convicted or entered guilty pleas, some just for coming into the Capitol at the invitation of the Capitol Police, some just casually wandering into the People\u2019s House.<\/p>\n<p>As footage of the events of Jan. 6 continues to be reviewed, it\u2019s obvious that what happened diverges from what legacy media described or cherry-picked in showing in their claim of insurrection.<\/p>\n<div id=\"firefly-poll-container\">\n<p>If elected, do you think Trump should pardon the Jan 6 prisoners?<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Some <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/fbi-brags-hunting-january-6-fugitives-post-immediately-backfires\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">skeptics<\/a> believe the entire event was orchestrated, to the point there was a discarding of a call by then-President Donald Trump for National Guard troops at the Capitol.<\/p>\n<p>And there are questions about involvement by the FBI \u2014 or at least its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/internet-erupts-ray-epps-charged-single-lame-misdemeanor-january-6-actions\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">informants<\/a> \u2014 prompting some critics to use another new term \u2014 \u201cfedsurrection.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Setting aside any deliberate federal instigation, it\u2019s generally acknowledged that there were some Trump supporters who got out of hand that day.<\/p>\n<p>But even that prompts a contrast.<\/p>\n<p>The events of Jan. 6 \u2014 in light of official indifference to things like the evident corruption of the Joe Biden family, ongoing criminal activity in blue-state urban areas, and the tolerance of months of violent Black Lives Matter riots throughout 2020 \u2014 display evidence of a \u201cjustice\u201d system that favors some and persecutes others.<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m not the only one who says that. Donald Trump does, too.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s two-tier system,\u201d Trump told <a href=\"https:\/\/time.com\/6972022\/donald-trump-transcript-2024-election\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Time Magazine<\/a> in an interview published Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBecause when I look at Portland, when I look at Minneapolis, where they took over police precincts and everything else, and went after <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/antifa-blm-vandalize-ice-building-burn-original-starbucks\/\" title=\"Antifa, BLM vandalize ICE building, burn original Starbucks\">federal buildings<\/a>, when I look at other situations that were violent, and where people were killled, nothing happened to them,\u201d Trump said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNothing happened to them,\u201d he repeated. \u201cI think it\u2019s a two-tier system of justice. I think it\u2019s a very, very sad thing. And whether you like it or not, nobody died, other than Ashli.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>If re-elected president, Trump told Time he intends to pardon the Jan. 6 participants.<\/p>\n<p>TIME: \u201cWill you consider pardoning every one of them?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>TRUMP: \u201cI would consider that, yes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>TIME: \u201cYou would? \u201c<\/p>\n<p>TRUMP:\u00a0 \u201cYes, absolutely \u2026 If somebody was evil and bad, I would look at that differently.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut many of those people went in, many of those people were ushered in. You see it on tape, the police are ushering them in. They\u2019re walking with the police,\u201c Trump said.<\/p>\n<p>Which brings us to that other new term, \u201clawfare.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Trump faces that now, as prosecutors and even judges wage legal war on the former president, tying him up in court, meaning he can\u2019t campaign, unaware that, like his famous mug shot now on T-shirts, their court actions seem to be bringing him support.<\/p>\n<p>It doesn\u2019t stop there \u2014 legal moves have been taken against his lawyers, and even against officials questioning the validity of the 2020 election.<\/p>\n<p>On it goes, day by day, new twists and turns undermining the Republic.<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s hoping that we will be able to return to a U.S. standard where we no longer have to put the word \u201cjustice\u201d in quotation marks.<\/p>\n<hr>\n<div>\n<p><b><i>A Note from Our Deputy Managing Editor:<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p><i><span>I heard a chilling comment the other day: \u201cWe don\u2019t even know if an election will be held in 2024.\u201d <\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><i><span>That wasn\u2019t said by a conspiracy theorist or a doomsday prophet.
