Kennedy went toe-to-toe with professor Geoffrey Supran on the groups he publicly supports on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/why-this-average-american-is-voting-for-donald-trump\/\" title=\"Why This Average American Is Voting for Donald Trump\">social media<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>And, as seen in a clip of the hearing shared to the social media platform X, the questioning got quite heated.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Sen. John Kennedy grills climate prof Dr. Geoffrey Supran, claiming he retweeted climate activists criticizing senators.<\/p>\n<p>Supran: \u201cI did not say that I don\u2019t support this. I simply did not tweet it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Kennedy: \u201cYou retweeted it, didn\u2019t you? \u2026 Are you gonna call me a sick fuck?\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/DTH2pE857H\">pic.twitter.com\/DTH2pE857H<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 The Recount (@therecount) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/therecount\/status\/1785723050270290363?\">May 1, 2024<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The clip began with some back and forth between Kennedy and the chair of this particular committee, Democrat Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse, over the fact that Kennedy\u2019s time had expired.<\/p>\n<p>However, before Kennedy was constrained to yield the floor, Supran asked, \u201cMay I clarify one final point?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Whitehouse allowing him, Supran then informed Kennedy, \u201cThese are not my tweets, these are retweets \u2026\u201d<\/p>\n<div id=\"firefly-poll-container\">\n<p>Do you support Sen. John Kennedy?<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>To which Kennedy interjected, asking rhetorically, \u201cYou often retweet stuff you don\u2019t support?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI did not say that I don\u2019t support this,\u201d Supran answered, trying to dig himself out of his self-created hole. \u201cI simply did not tweet it, which, as you are alleging \u2026\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut you retweeted them, didn\u2019t you?\u201d Kennedy responded, with Supran insisting, \u201cI\u2019d like to make it clear that this form of character assassination is characteristic of the propaganda techniques.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Here was where Kennedy truly lost his patience, asking, \u201cAre you going to call me a sick f***?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Now, what were those offending tweets \u2014 sorry, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/biden-doj-collects-list-every-person-followed-retweeted-mentioned-donald-trump-twitter\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>re<\/em>tweets<\/a> \u2014 that were the focus of such heated debate during this committee hearing?<\/p>\n<p>For that, one must consult the full recording of the hearing, which in turn contained <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/senator-john-kennedy-destroys-gun-control-debate-offers-insight-on-what-america-really-needs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Kennedy\u2019<\/a>s full line of questioning.<\/p>\n<p>Kennedy first asked Supran, \u201cOn Dec. 14, 2023, you tweeted in support of Climate Defiance, that\u2019s an entity that the Brookings Institute has called a radical climate change group, is that correct?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Supran admitted he didn\u2019t remember, so Kennedy continued, asking \u201cWould this be the same Climate Defiance \u2026 that called Sen. Joe Biden, \u2018a sick f***?&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Supran again expressed his ignorance, so Kennedy pressed on, asking \u201cWould this be the same Climate Defiance that called Senator Lisa Murkowski a murderer?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Supran maintained neutrality, saying he wasn\u2019t responsible for the statements of others, so Kennedy went ahead and read out his tweet, which said, \u201cWe do not do online petitions. We do not do NGO coalition letters. We do not do f***ing bus stop ads. We chase fossil fuel CEOs and the politicians who do their bidding. And we do not apologize.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>For those curious, the tweet is still up on Supran\u2019s page, along with many others of a similar tenor (including one from December gushing about the \u201cclimate comedian\u201d who Zoomed into class, which sounded about as much fun as brushing your teeth with vinegar):<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>WARNING: The following post contains vulgar language that some readers may find offensive.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">We do not do online petitions. And we do not apologize.<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Climate Defiance (@ClimateDefiance) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ClimateDefiance\/status\/1735396614519640100?\">December 14, 2023<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<blockquote>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Fun final class of the semester today!: Popcorn \ud83c\udf7f, Ribena \ud83e\udd64, &#038; my friend &#038; favourite climate comedian <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RollieWilliams?\">@RollieWilliams<\/a> Zooming in to talk about his incredible climate storytelling on <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ClimateTown?\">@ClimateTown<\/a>, trying to \u201cfind the peanut butter to put on pills of information\u201d. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/jrURcj6923\">pic.twitter.com\/jrURcj6923<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Geoffrey Supran (@GeoffreySupran) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/GeoffreySupran\/status\/1730662773091131902?\">December 1, 2023<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>So, while crude, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/watch-sen-john-kennedy-stumps-23-year-old-climate-change-expert-multiple-times-leaves-looking-ridiculous\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Kennedy<\/a> did have a point.<\/p>\n<p>No one has ever retweeted something they didn\u2019t agree with \u2014 unless they explicitly point out how much they disagree with the original tweet.<\/p>\n<p>That would be a given for anyone who retweeted anything.<\/p>\n<p>More important than that semantic debate, however, were the contents of those <em>re<\/em>tweets of Supran\u2019s.<\/p>\n<p>The fact of the matter was, Supran retweeted a post from a group that expresses the most unhinged <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/watch-greta-thunberg-recreates-barbie-scene-push-climate-change-alarmism-extra-cringeworthy-moment\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">climate alarmism<\/a> and has used <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/the-kavanaugh-circus-continues-more-dangerous-than-ever%ef%bf%bc\/\" title=\"The Kavanaugh Circus Continues, More Dangerous Than Ever\ufffc\">radical tactics<\/a> to further its message.<\/p>\n<p>Not only that, but much of what he tweeted and retweeted was but another form of the same rhetoric, pushing an extreme, sky-is-falling hysteria about something that was never that much of a problem.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/watch-view-host-blames-climate-change-causing-eclipse-gets-ridiculed-live-air-co-hosts\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Climate change<\/a> has been grossly over-exaggerated, and the push to lie about the impending end of the world needs to stop.<\/p>\n<p>Kennedy had every right to call Supran out on his radical positions.<\/p>\n<p>America could use more senators bringing the fight to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/parental-warning-wokeism-spotted-plain-sight-transformers-show-children\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">wokeism<\/a> as directly as Kennedy did here.<\/p>\n<hr>\n<div>\n<p><b><i>An Important Message from Our Staff:<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p><i><span>We who work here at The Western Journal have fought for years against Big Tech and the elites who want to shut us down and then shut America down. <\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><i><span>Make no mistake \u2014 nothing will be the same after November 2024.
