The data suggests\u200b German&#8217;s cellphone activity near the \u200bcrime scene contradicts the prosecution&#8217;s timeline. The defense argues this evidence \u2063implicates someone else\u2064 in the killings, \u200craising doubts about Allen&#8217;s sole involvement.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<p>Defense attorneys for the man accused of killing two Delphi, Indiana, teenagers back in 2017 say newly obtained cellphone data suggests someone other than their client committed the crimes.<\/p>\n<p>Richard Allen was charged with kidnapping and murdering 13-year-old Abby Williams and 14-year-old Libby German on a Delphi <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/las-vegas-pd-fbi-offering-10k-for-info-on-boy-found-dead-near-highway\/\" title=\"Las Vegas PD, FBI offering K for info. on boy found dead near highway\">hiking trail<\/a>. His <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/president-trump-please-pardon-jon-woods-a-victim-of-process-crimes-like-michael-flynn\/\" title=\"President Trump, Please Pardon Jon Woods, a Victim of Process Crimes Like Michael Flynn\">defense attorneys<\/a> say the prosecution\u2019s timeline of the crime no longer points to their client, WTHR <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wthr.com\/article\/news\/crime\/delphi-girls-murdered\/defense-says-newly-obtained-phone-location-evidence-points-to-other-suspects-not-richard-allen-in-delphi-murders-libby-abby-monon\/531-e27956d0-9b67-4ab2-aa3e-c9648ec764d6\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Defense attorneys Brad Rozzi and Andrew Baldwin wrote in their fourth request to throw out evidence found during a search of Allen\u2019s home that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/alex-murdaugh-trial-biggest-piece-of-evidence-was-murderer-taking-stand-south-carolina-ag-says\/\" title=\"Alex Murdaugh trial: 'Biggest piece of evidence' was murderer taking stand, South Carolina AG says\">cellphone evidence<\/a> they obtained on Friday points to another suspect. The cellphone data, according to the attorneys, shows that German\u2019s cellphone was connecting with a cell tower near the hiking trail on February 13, the day the girls were killed, but stopped connecting at 5:44 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>In court records, the defense said police believed \u201cthe information which they were receiving from AT&#038;T indicated that the cellphone was no longer in the area or no longer in working condition.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But at 4:33 a.m., the cellphone again made contact with the tower, eight hours before the girls\u2019 bodies were found. This, according to the defense, suggests someone else had to have killed the girls because if the prosecution\u2019s theory is true, the phone never would have moved or made additional contact with the tower.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat\u2019s so important because at this juncture, Richard Allen is the only person charged with these murders,\u201d defense attorney and former deputy prosecutor Katie Jackson-Lindsay told WTHR. \u201cRichard Allen is the only one alleged to have committed the crime at all. He\u2019s not charged under a theory of conspiracy, and we\u2019ve not heard of any other even potential suspects.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The new timeline comes at the same time defense attorneys are again accusing prosecutors of withholding critical evidence, the Journal &#038; Courier <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jconline.com\/story\/news\/crime\/2024\/04\/30\/misconduct-allegations-in-delphi-murder-case-richard-allen-nicholas-mcleland-carroll-county\/73511363007\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reported<\/a>. Allen\u2019s attorneys called for sanctions against Carroll County Prosecutor Nicholas McLeland, whom they accuse of \u201cconvoluted, disorganized and often untimely discovery dumps.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><b><a href=\"https:\/\/onelink.to\/dwapp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" aria-describedby=\"sk-tooltip-9096\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/onelink.to\/dwapp&#038;source=gmail&#038;ust=1714129450076000&#038;usg=AOvVaw11MUL_oXewNl-yGfGqnuu8\">CLICK HERE TO GET THE DAILYWIRE+ APP<\/a><\/b><\/p>\n<p>The defense team has claimed to have received critical evidence late or not at all.<\/p>\n<p>And McLeland has lodged <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/legal-drama-continues-ahead-of-delphi-murder-suspects-trial\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">contempt allegations<\/a> against the defense attorneys, accusing them of violating a gag order.<\/p>\n<p>The contempt claims came in a filing from McLeland on January 29. Baldwin and Rozzi\u2019s attorney, David Hennessy, filed a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jconline.com\/story\/news\/crime\/2024\/02\/13\/delphi-murders-suspect-richard-allens-attorneys-ask-clarification-contempt-cout-charges\/72584034007\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">motion<\/a> in February asking for clarification on the allegations, saying the claims suffered from \u201cinsufficiencies.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In one example, Hennessy noted that McLeland accused his clients of violating the court\u2019s order regarding statements about the case. He cited a news release from November 2022 \u2013 which was before the court issued a gag order.
