Pro-Palestinian encampments appeared at the University of Wisconsin-Madison \u200dand the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, \u200dleading to clashes with the police. Tensions escalated at the larger Madison campus, where officers \u2063dismantled the \u2063encampments, resulting\u200d in confrontations and arrests, including of sociology\u200d and \u200bgender studies professors.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Police in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/wisconsin\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Wisconsin<\/a> have responded to heated anti-<a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/israel\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Israel<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/crime\/2986327\/watch-live-new-york-city-officials-hold-press-conference-after-storming-columbia-university-protests\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>protests<\/a> on college campuses by making arrests.<\/p>\n<p>Pro-Palestinian encampments have popped up at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/protesters-clash-with-cops-threaten-to-burn-dc-during-black-lives-matter-march\/\" title=\"Protesters Clash With Cops, Threaten To \u2018Burn\u2019 DC During \u2018Black Lives Matter\u2019 March\">protesters clashed<\/a> with police at the former on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>Conflict arose at the larger of the two universities, Madison, when police started tearing down the campus\u2019s encampment after officers issued warnings to the protesters to clear out.<\/p>\n<p>While police took down parts of the encampment, protesters began defending tents from officials\u2019 efforts to remove them.<\/p>\n<figure><\/figure>\n<p>Officers responded by shoving their way to the tents in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/ignored-by-media-flash-bangs-were-going-off-at-us-capitol-before-trump-finished-his-speech-antifa-organized-protest-near-us-capitol-before-it-was-stormed\/\" title=\"IGNORED BY MEDIA: Flash Bangs Were Going Off at US Capitol Before Trump Finished His Speech \u2013 Antifa Organized Protest Near US Capitol Before It Was Stormed\">full riot gear<\/a> as protesters refused to back down, resulting in arrests.<\/p>\n<p>Two officers pinned down and detained a Madison <a href=\"https:\/\/dces.wisc.edu\/directory\/4514\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>sociology<\/a> professor, Samer Alatout, who had a bloody gash on his forehead. He accused police of \u201csingling out\u201d people of color and refused treatment for his wound so other people could see it.<\/p>\n<p>Police later <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/TylerKatzen\/status\/1785671186346594305\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>detained<\/a> another Madison professor, Sami Schalk, a <a href=\"https:\/\/gws.wisc.edu\/staff\/schalk-sami\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>gender <\/a>&#038; women\u2019s studies instructor, walking her with zip-tie cuffs around her wrists. Officers continued clearing tents as some protesters sat on the ground in protest.<\/p>\n<p>Other protesters didn\u2019t seem to heed the warnings of the police or back down in reaction to the arrests.<\/p>\n<figure><\/figure>\n<p>Meanwhile, Milwaukee\u2019s encampment remained tranquil compared to its Madison counterpart. Those protesters have said they will not leave until their demands are met.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe reiterate the demands that we have provided to the UWM administration,\u201d UW-Milwaukee Muslim Student Association member Ameen Atta <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbs58.com\/news\/pro-palestine-encampment-on-uw-milwaukee-campus-continues\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>said<\/a> Tuesday. \u201cDemands that will simply require the UWM administration to adopt a moral and ethical position respecting the basic human and civil rights of all people.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure>\n<div>\n<blockquote data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">At UW-Milwaukee, encampment of about three <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/hatchet-confiscated-during-encounter-with-pro-palestinian-protesters-at-the-university-of-utah\/\" title=\"Hatchet seized from pro-Palestinian protesters at University of Utah\">dozen tents<\/a> is quiet.
